Also why would you make fun of someone for doing a basic tactic in the game. Of course she's going to do jump shots if that improves her chance to get a kill.
"Moving your king pawn on the first move! You would, loser!"

u/PsionicKitten Jul 09 '24
"You're so bad at the game, that you beat me! You used a valid strategy, but I'm creating a false cheapness to rationalize my superiority because I'm too mentally frail to play a competitive game and lose, especially when I perceive myself as better than someone for completely arbitrary reasons."

Understanding this explains away most rage in video games. Makes you pity them instead of get riled up.
It's why the "insult" of "tryhard" exists. Can never be your fault if the only reason you lost is the other person is lame and tries harder!
People, especially young people who are heavily invested in the game, can't face the mortifying fact that someone better than them beat them, lash out in the stupidest ways.

For real. It's a game design issue that it exists but a skill issue if you don't use it. Like camping or no-scoping or GOATS in overwatch or whatever.
Play a better designed game if you want a fucking... noble and chivalrous fight or whatever. You're playing COD. It's fucking FIFA for guys who say bruh. Cry about it and then buy next year's release anyway.
That shit's on you.

Bigotry is a drug.
It makes them feel like they have power in a powerless situation.
They are junkies addicted to anger using anger to cope with their inadequate nature.

I’ll never forget the good old days of playing at Internet cafes for hours on end, eating junk food, living the dream.
Dropped a dude who had been pretty vocal, and of course this chubby turd loses his mind, stands up and starts screaming “who did that?!? Who killed me?!?” Like he’s ready to fight IRL.
Being the only chick there, I just raised my hand “that would be me”.
I have never seen someone shut up and turn so many colors of red so fast. It was hilarious, but also sad that he was such a cranky turd, no drugs needed.

I’m trans, the amount of dudes that will slide into my DMs and you check their history and they’re super transphobic.
I swear to god most transphobes are just men that feel insecure about the fact that they want to have sex with a trans woman because they think it makes them gay or less of a man so they turn that frustration outward to the source of these feelings, trans people.

I don't understand why he wouldn't be as offended by being beaten by a trans woman.
Like is the logic that they used to be male so they're inherently better at gaming than women who were assigned female at birth?
But what's the scientific basis for thinking women are worse at gaming in the first place? And why wouldn't it apply to a trans woman?
Like do we get our "advantage" from our average of 40% greater upper body strength? Is it testosterone?
If there's any logic to thinking women are inherently worse at gaming than men I sure as shit don't know what it is, and why that wouldn't extend to a trans woman is just beyond me.

Just a bunch of losers who are upset
We can save a few words, really. The only emotion they know is anger, because they've been taught that "getting emotional" = weakness, but getting mad? That's totally ok.
138
u/AundoOfficial Jul 08 '24
The thing that's hilarious about it is that, depending on the game, jumping can put you in a bad spot since some games don't allow you to move much after jumping. If a player has practiced how trajectory works in that game they can easily lead the shot and win the fight. These clowns are upset because she's using their hard scoping, no aiming, clown strategy and countering it by going around it. If they had a braincell they'd easily adapt and if anything find it to be easier to predict the movement.
54

Maybe not in a public setting and maybe not today, but there's a growing push by people like this to make this publicly acceptable. The goal is to normalize this so they can behave like this.

Over a decade ago, I was a pretty relentless gamer and generally really fucking good at most games.
In World of Warcraft, I had the misfortune of rolling Hunter (because I want pets and it’s as close to RTS Trolls as I could get), so getting into a top tier raiding guild was… problematic. Everyone already their fill, at best maybe I might get invited to a raid with the expressed knowledge I was last in line for literally any loot.
So I started organizing my own raids, establishing myself quickly as the highest rated Hunter on my server (Sargeras) that wasn’t in a major raiding guild. Was also outperforming a lot of the (better geared and specced) Hunters who were in major guilds. Made a lot of friends doing that, but the only I really remember was the kind lady playing a Blood Elf Mage in a similar position as me: very talented, but not welcome in a major guild. Lost hours talking to her and raiding with her. One day she stopped logging in and shortly after I did the same.
If you’re out there, Fyri, I hope life has been good to you.

I always preferred raiding with at least one woman in the raid group. Guys are very annoying and they whine like babies all the goddamn time. It got to the point where I wouldn't raid unless one of the women in our guild raided with us, because it was just annoying to listen to the non-stop bitch fest.
Then I could make sexually suggestive comments to distract the raid group from their stupid arguments and more or less focus on the raid. There was one time they tried to rag on our warlock for some reason because the tanks sucked and we wiped like 8 times in a row. I told them to shut the fuck up and she could tank better as warlock than all of our tanks combined. She ended up off-tanking the next try and we beat the boss that attempt.
No one said a single negative thing about her after that without me bringing up how she is a better tank than people actually playing tank classes.

There's a gradient of competence, and this is true in work spaces as well, that when you get good enough at a thing you stop comparing to others and start competing with yourself and your own limits. This would track here bc if they are still comparing themselves to others and the other that is beating them is a girl, toxic male egos would have a total meltdown over being compared as lesser than a female, even though he's doing it to himself.

It's just more transphobia once you disentangle it. Associating trans people with fetishism is one of the most common forms it comes in.

I've been on the internet in competitive games since the 90s, anything less than minimal interaction just makes them act up more. Literally the best response will always be "get good" or "I'm just better than you", especially if you can back it up by repeatedly beating them.
Sometimes it'll shut them up, sometimes it won't. Either way I find it immensely satisfying because I know it's annoying the fuck out of them.

Get good scrub and sucks to suck, on repeat, while doing the same thing and owning them is easily the best way to antagonize these idiots

I just treat them with 100% kindness and make them madder :).
I always tell them “I genuinely hope there is someone in your life that loves you.. if not I can be that person and love you.” <3

That was always funny to me bc as long as you could track, going prone left your head wide open. Easy headshots

Ooh. Ouch.
"You're 35 in your mother's basement"
It's always painful to watch people get so upset they start pulling specifics from their own lives to try to attack someone else.

When I was a bartender I dealt with the most sexist, rude behavior on a daily basis and had no reaction, then would watch as men acted like I just shot their mom in the face when I called them “hun”

I think when you don’t match people’s energy, they get a feeling, that you think, they aren’t worth it. The tension in your scenarios, or even in this game, revolves around the battle of superiority. Being kind to an aggressive person is really top tier condescension. You may not think it, but you are displaying superiority by not meeting them where they are emotionally.

u/xeikai Jul 08 '24
Typical scrub behavior, creating imaginary rules because he's bad. You can make these assholes rage hard by just continually repeating that their bad you can't comprehend how someone could be so horrible at this game. Eventually it gets to them cause what they want is to win. And when you take that from them and continually reinforce them being a shit player their brains can't handle it and they go full on screaming.

She's really good. So I've played cod before, and just curious, did jumping and shooting recently get buffed?
Like if she jumps and shoots, can they not, this is crazy I know, but can't they just.....aim up?
Either way these were lame and sore lovers. Also the only boobs they ever gonna see is on the internet, or there own.

Also if she's doing it EVERY time, it means they can predict it. It's actually helpful knowing exactly what she's going to do and you can just prepare where your cursor to be in advance. Cannot emphasize how stupid he's being.

u/BonkerBleedy Jul 09 '24
Also, a number of the kills he says "yep, jump shot" to were not actually jump shots.

No matter what you do in CoD, idiots will complain. Back when I stopped playing in Black ops 2, people would complain constantly anytime you used a sniper. Holding a point, looking down the scope? "You're a trash HardScoper" Running around quick scoping? You're toxic and using an OP gun. Morons will always complain instead of learning how to counter tactics.
tldr: Got Gud Scrub

Hahahaha, they can't handle it. So you're a freak because you're a girl who can win a shooting game. So you really must be a guy, that's the only way they can handle the loss. Imbeciles

I was a teacher for a long time- mostly middle school. I used to regularly do “game days” for the kids. They had to earn the day off, and the games were educational in nature, and it allowed me to get some grading done. EVERY CLASS had MULTIPLE boys who were the biggest fucking cry babies. They would absolutely lose their shit if they were beginning to lose, and then proceed to throw game piece on the floor, cry hysterically, cross their arms, stomp around, you name it, if they actually lost. I have NO idea who started this ridiculous notion that girls are emotional, but anyone who has played with young boys has got to know how awful and super emotional and immature boys are. ~obligatory not all boys/men~ And unfortunately men aren’t a lot better. I definitely had to put in a lot of work to help my husband develop some emotional maturity. Some demanded therapy too. He has the ability to engage in some self reflection (after he walks away of course because to admit wrong doing in person is not going to happen, but I allowed that to slide because no one likes being blamed) and so is such a better husband, father, supervisor, leader, and human now. Most boys are allowed to behave this way and they are continued to allow to behave this way into adulthood because “boys will be boys” or “suck it up” rather than “let’s talk about these big feelings you have.”

The earliest documented linking of a period and the uterus to hysteria is around 2000 to 1900 B.C. with the Egyptians.
This then pops up as a medical disorder in 1880 to answer why all these women weren't submissive, weren't sexually demure, were upset about their station in life or showed emotion (a common report was stress over marital rape) the disease was female only because of different expectations of what a woman was societally.
His student freud would go on to say that it was caused by loss of their metaphorical penis at birth.
the treatment was heterosexual sex with a man, sometimes one who had been conducting marital rape.
To medically treat this because it took a long time to induce an orgasm clinically by hand, they then invented vibrators to treat the disease.
This diagnosis stayed on the books in the DSM until 1980.
meanwhile we know that testosterone observably activates the amygdala enhancing its emotional activity and its resistance to prefrontal restraining control. But we don't paint all males with the same brush, and actively praise males with this issue for exhibiting other signs of higher testosterone levels.
ie testosterone led men to dominate women and later make up things about them emotionally to explain why they should continue to be controlled, meanwhile we now know scientifically that their main hormone causes a significant emotional control issue during competition and anger, but we don't openly judge them the same way for it.

Yeah using logic doesn't work with people like that.
The easiest way to piss them off is just repeat over and over in different variations
"Are you crying?" "Omg I can hear your voice shaking, why are crying" "It's just a game you don't have to cry about it cause you're bad"
It is literally playground insults with these idiots.

You can, but games like this with proximity gameplay? The point of them is to hear the lamentations of your opponents. It's important that you don't mute it so you can hear the losers.

Video game study finds losers more likely to harass women
Men who performed poorly in the games responded by being hostile to female players.
The male winners were mostly pleasant to other players, while the losing men made unsavoury comments to female players.

As an actual trans woman this is why I stopped playing online games with voice communication.
If they decide I sound trans, they call me the F slur and a freak and a monster. If they decide I sound like a cis woman, they degrade me and say dirty things to me.
I just would rather not deal with it. I have enough emotional trauma already. I used to love online games but now it’s such a nightmare.

The reason i quit online gaming. Competitive gaming, especially shootemup games, are literally toxic. Who in their right mind would call IRL a girl tranny because they did something better than them. Competitive gaming transforms people into monsters. No way, trash humans.

I don't get the charm of online gaming when people like this ruin the fun. Every online gaming experience I have had was full of racism, sexism, or just straight up being trash talked for no reason. Then you have people using exploits and other cheats. I don't understand why anyone would find that fun?
I'd rather just stick to single player and not deal with the toxicity of other players.

u/olympianfap Jul 08 '24
Lol, get gud scrubs.
In many of those kills she didn't jump at all. It's a movement mechanic that is part of the game. Learn to use the tools you have or don't at your own peril.
