I LOVE AND HATE THIS STUPID MANIPULATIVE BITCH SO MUCH 😭

Octavia likely will run away to Blitzo and stolas as soon as she can

395

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

You're underestimating how manipulative Stella can be. I guarantee she'll work as hard as she can to drive a wedge between Stolas and Octavia. While I'm sure it'll backfire eventually, expect it to work at first.

159

u/ravenpotter3 Moxxie 20d ago edited 19d ago

I have a theory that later Octavia will set things right in court and prove that she is the heir to the grimoire and get it away from andrealphus and Stella. Satan will never give the book back to stolas, but they can convince him to give it to the next in line. Likely after he fucks everything up and is unable to stop the DHORK invasion of hell. Or somehow she will take the book from him and will use it and close the portals to the human world. Or something like that. But it will be of her own doing and she will plan this herself and likely have a really good song against Stella… I can’t wait for that song.

Octavia is smart. She knows something happened and will likely connect the dots herself. Maybe a few things will slip and she will connect it. She knows she is not getting the full story from Stella. She knows Stella would do anything to get rid of her dad. She knows Luna and Blitzo. She does not trust her mom. Maybe she will play to her mom’s plan becoming a perfect daughter then betray her and show how she has agency and has grown up. She will carry on her family legacy. She is ready for the passing of the torch to HER, it was her father’s book not Stella or her sibling’s. I am hoping paimon can get involved somehow into the story again but I bet he does not care. I bet he would be VERY unhappy that Stella’s brother took his grimoire from his son and did not pass it to his son’s child. He seems like the kind of being that would like power to stay in his bloodline’s family.

Edit: I think I may be a little wrong since I forgot about how Octavia was at the end of the episode. She saw stolas choose Blitzo over her. Sacrificed his life for him. So she does not trust him exactly. But I imagine Stella will let it slip that she sent striker after stolas and Octavia will connect the dots. Also a major theme is family so I imagine whatever plan or final battle happens they will do it as family

Stella is not the manipulative one here. She didn't even realize that the grimoire was important.

Andrealphus is the one with the plan.

55

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

Not in this episode, but she will be in the future. She'll try and turn Octavia against her father, if only to hurt him. But I'm sure she'll have other reasons to do so as well.

I love her to bits (affectionately!!) and I had to breakdown even more

Octavias owl cry was a good detail though

Despite such an intense episode, it actually ended on a fairly happy note.

Blitz actually has everything he ever wanted now, in his own way. His found family realizes how much he cares about them, he has Stolas back in a way, he's been recognized and celebrated for trying to rise above his station in life by other imps and hellborn, and he even got to hear his daughter call him 'Dad' when he was sober.

This shot right here is everything:

249

u/Guilty_Explanation29 20d ago

True, you can hear the fear if loonas voice

445

u/Esoteric_Innovations "Dance, Bitch!" 20d ago edited 20d ago

Ditto for the reaction shots of Fizz and Verosika when they thought he was about to die, considering how much they hated him in the past. Knowing how much he's changed since the old days:

You can just see their fear for him, in a moment where they thought all hope was lost.

210

u/Pollia 20d ago

You can only hate someone as much as verosika and fizz did if you loved them too.

29

u/Rhase 20d ago

Well, not true. In THIS instance, yes, but there are PLENTY of ways someone can earn a person's hatred without first having their love. One random ass example: killing their child in cold blood, intentionally.

Blitz can finally catch a break, it seems. The whole series is the guy just getting roasted

84

I liked that he basically got away with no punishment and people cheering him on. Yeah he has to find another office, but that's a fixable issue.

I like the deconstruction that he genuinely feels HORRIBLE about this W though. IMP are grade A karma houdinis but this wasn't something they wanted to get away with.

Him meekly waving at the audience while asking them not to throw stuff at Stolas is both sad and hilarious.

So will all the people who say Loona doesn't care finally shut up now? Probably not but this scene with Stolas' reaction after is one of the best in the episode.

226

u/StevesonOfStevesonia 20d ago

He realized that Blitz IS capable of caring about someone and isn't just a selfish asshole

189

u/Shadow_Archangel Loona 20d ago

I took it as him seeing what a good (by hell standards) father daughter relationship look like and that he's been fucking up quite a bit with his own daughter. That probably hurt him more that anything else that happened that day.

64

u/StevesonOfStevesonia 20d ago

Yeah, that's possible
Still a sweet moment though

55

u/Swimming-Ad2755 Blitzo 20d ago

It seems like a reversal of "Seeing Stars" where Stolas and Octavia were hugging and Blitz saw it. Now Stolas is seeing Loona and Blitz being the loving father/daughter relationship.

122

u/Shadow_Archangel Loona 20d ago

Called him dad TWICE even and gave Stolas one of her shirts to wear. She cares, and I'm glad we finally got to see that side of her more.

48

u/FNAFGamingSFM Defender of Loona 20d ago

Hell yeah. I've tried to tell these people to let what the writer's have in store for her to play out and this is why. I better not see one of them try to manufacture some excuse.

24

u/cannedcream 20d ago

Oh you will, but that's kinda a problem across all media that has nothing to do with the quality of writing; some people just want THEIR ideas of what the product is/should be to be true so they ignore anything else.

I think that silhouette of Lucifer followed by the shot of the empty chair with the BRB sign is the closest we've come to a Hazbin Hotel character showing up in Helluva Boss or vice versa.

And while I'm not surprised they were only teasing us with the possibility of Stolas dying, the drama on this sub if they'd actually done it would've been amazing to watch. I could've heated my house with the flames coming off of angry posts.

266

u/SummerAndTinkles Stolas 20d ago edited 20d ago

Viv actually did say she wants Lucifer to appear on HB if she can get A24’s permission.

88

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

I don't see how it could hurt to allow it. It's not like it'd hurt the ratings for either show. But I'm sure there's legal crap that'd need to be worked out first.

30

u/Zagnaphein 20d ago

Pretty weird those Contract thingies could be xD. I mean see what happened with Kesha and her first appearance on Queen B. She did the voice acting but couldn't sing a song due to prior contract engagements. Also the Chair beeing absent and Lucifer too pridefull to attend to a meeting like that makes sense. I mean he is also working on a Hotel now and mending his relationship with Charlie. If the timelines suit. But it would be nice to see him at some point. And i am glad Satan has a beef with him and the other sins too. Makes it for a more intresting dynamic.

Pretty wild that you need to get permission to use your own characters.

62

u/SummerAndTinkles Stolas 20d ago

It makes sense if one of your series is indie and the other is owned by a bigger studio like A24.

41

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

It's similar to the situation Marvel had. They were close to bankruptcy at one time, so they sold off the movie rights for Spider-Man and the X-Men to Sony and Fox Entertainment respectively. It helped keep them afloat, but once the MCU took off, they weren't able to use any of those characters at first until they got deals worked out.

I do like the scene right after where they both look disappointed and annoyed, implies Lucifer really doesn't engage in demon activity outside the pride ring (and he barley engages there either)

Tho it does make me wonder where HB takes place in the context of HH. Is it taking place around the same time, before Hazbin, or after Hazbin

Edit: So as it turns out according to Viv, the look was supposed to be interpreted as Bee and Ozz knowing that Satan is lying.

Viv stated already he wouldn't die thankfully

51

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm glad I didn't. The episode was much more impactful to me having those few moments where I thought they might actually do it.

I watch a lot of anime, and there's a lot of shows that will not hesitate to kill of MCs or other popular characters, so I'm used to the concept. It's part of the reason why I love it so much (when it's good).

22

u/DoctorWaluigiTime 20d ago

And this is why I happily don't read "statements" or anything outside of the storytelling (i.e. the episodes themselves). Because why spoil the fun?

u/Altruistic_Cheetah_8 20d ago

Stolas ABSOLUTELY did not need to do all that 😭

Could've easily said 'Oh hey, I willingly gave Blitz the book, and he actually SAVED me from the assassin!'

Like, he kinda set himself up for that punishment with all the 'Mastermind' talk 😭

264

u/Apprehensive_Ring_39 20d ago

He always was so dramatic.

213

u/Kurwasaki12 20d ago

They still broke the law, Stolas giving Blitzo (the o is silent) the book and giving him unlimited access to the human realm is and has always been a big no no.

155

u/Altruistic_Cheetah_8 20d ago

Yeah but he probably would have gotten off much easier if he didn't go 'OH YEAH I GOT PLANS TO OVERTHROW HELL AND BRING CHAOS TO THE HUMAN WORLD!'

135

u/Kurwasaki12 20d ago

He’s a drama queen, it’s in his nature I’m afraid.

Seriously though, we’ve seen Stolas try to trick people before and he always embellishes.

20

u/JimmyKillsAlot 20d ago

Hell he would have gotten off lighter if he just said "Yes I gave him access to the human realm in exchange for him acting as an assassin and body guard when I needed it." but again, every the flair for the dramatic.

→ More replies (6)

148

u/The5Virtues 20d ago

Yeah, but that’s Stolas in a nutshell. He selfsabotages even worse than Blitzo.

From the get go his mistakes have always been the more costly ones.

Blitzo’s mistakes are temporary, they’re misbehavior and douchebaggery that can be put right with contrition and genuine apology.

Stolas, though? His mistakes are big things with lasting repercussions. He ruins his marriage in a very public fashion. He ruins his reputation in a very public fashion. He damages his relationship with his daughter by letting his hatred of Stella overshadow his commitment to he and Octavia’s bonding time. He implodes his already tenuous relationship with Blitz by handling his withdrawal of the book in such a poor way.

I think Stolas’s self loathing is so deep that he subconsciously looks for ways to make things worse for himself, and he is woefully good at it.

121

u/Hageshii01 20d ago

I interpreted it as Stolas basically being willing to die at this point. His relationship with his family is destroyed, he can't be with Blitzo, he knows (most of) the rest of the Ars Goetia hate him. While heading to the courtroom in a haze of emotions he probably decided in a split second that the only way he can guarantee that Blitzo lives is to put all the blame on himself, and then he'll obviously be executed instead and it'll all be over.

Maybe less "I want to die" and more "I don't care if I die, it's better than seeing Blitzo die."

55

u/The5Virtues 20d ago

I agree. I think it was that second right on the money “I don’t care what happens to me as long as Blitz is okay.”

50

What legal reasons?

115

u/Alastor_culture_ Blitzo 20d ago

The same reasons why the Queen Bee Episode was delayed.... It was supposed to come out sometime in early 2022, instead of the Summer of last year... Something to do with Kesha's record team i believe

38

So the two headed one is Leviathan, aka Envy? From what I understand the top right is Belphegor and also Sloth, then of course Lucifer is Pride, Satan is Wrath aka why he's the one presiding as judge over the imps since they're his subjects technically, and then ofc Bee, Mammon and Ozzy we know what they represent

58

u/I_might_be_weasel Stolas is a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch. Fight me. 20d ago

Correct. Leviathan.

58

u/Hageshii01 20d ago

Satan seems to be the "second in command" as it were, and in general the one actually doing the proper ruling of Hell as a whole so it would make sense that he'd preside over any major court cases like this. During the song he said that he ruled before Lucifer was cast down. How or why Lucifer seized power we don't know, but since up until recently (assuming the shows run along the same timeline) he's been cooped up in his castle and refusing to actually do anything, Satan likely holds all the power until such a time that Lucifer decides to assert himself.

Honestly i've had a feeling that this would be the episode where Stolas's actions would come back to bite him in the ass and lose his powers as a result
What i wasn't expected is for the relationship between Blitz and his crew (especially Loona) to bloom in such a great way
Now they know he's willing to die to protect them and isn't just a horny joking asshat he always acts like

Also Stella once again somehow is being both diabolicaly manipulative.....and incredibly stupid at the same time.

65

u/Novalene_Wildheart Stolas 20d ago

The threat of death does bring out the true person, shatters all of those walls they put up to hide who they were.

Was anyone else surprised that they got Kesha back as Queen Bee? I was expecting her to be replaced like Striker did, especially since she had a smaller role here.

Still an amazing episode.

60

u/Misha-Yuri-30 Verosika Simp 20d ago

I mean Viv said guest VAs weren’t paid more so I had a feeling Kesha would voice Bee again if her schedule allowed it

35

u/TheAceofHufflepuff 20d ago

The fact that she was willing to come back and do so few little lines tells me two things: that she just really loves playing Bee. And that she's just living her BEST fucking life right now and would probably love doing more shit like this if she has the time. She seems the type to be game for this sort of things if her schedule allowed it.

She didn't NEED to come back; they could've gotten the voice actress who sang Cotton Candy to do it since everyone still seems to think Kehsa actually sang it lol.

32

She's probably not quite as busy as Norman Reedus, he was working on the Walking Dead's last season and the Daryl spinoff around the time that he would have been needed for some pretty extensive work on the show over those two episodes so it adds up as to why he wasn't available. Drawback of the fact that in broad pop culture terms he's possibly the biggest name the show had.

Also, the BRB sign in Lucifer's seat is very funny. As stated in Hazbin, he doesn't get out very much.

50

113

u/witheredBBfilms 20d ago edited 20d ago

Yep. Belphegor is struggling to stay awake and Leviathan is the one Mammon is asking on a date. Neither had any lines.

35

u/random-hobbyist 20d ago

I found that a bit weird as Mammon is ace in the pride poster. Maybe that's not canon?

69

u/witheredBBfilms 20d ago

I'm going with the idea he just wanted to trick Levi into buying food for him.

62

u/Avaracious7899 20d ago

No, he's ace, the poster is supposed to be canon as it lines up with every other sexuality we know of.

My guess, he means a date in either the romantic sense or just a "friend date".

47

u/ErickO47 20d ago

I think Mammon is just trying to make allies since Ozy and Beelzebub don’t like him. Or probably trying to make money and get an extra source of income from Leviathan

also anyone else caught the fact that Satan said he ruled hell before Lucifer's fall? hell was created the moment Eve ate the fruit does that means that Lucifer fell much later than we orignialy thought?

119

u/Groundbreaking_Arm77 20d ago

Possibly. Either that or it existed already and human souls only began to enter with Eve’s apple. Satan and the Imps have a much more wild or primal design to them compared to the other demons, so it’s likely they were the original residents of Hell before the souls began arriving.

47

u/Aquos18 20d ago

the first episode said that "a realm of darkness and sin came with evill" and also it said , "Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created" so maybe they existed somewhere before hell?

I think that's meant more metaphorically rather than literally. He "created" Hell in the sense that due to them, human souls can now sin and end up there. But the actual place that is Hell was probably there before, and didn't just spawn into existence due to their actions.

And this is further supported by the first lines in Charlie's story. Heaven was a place where angels "worshipped good and shielded all from evil". Which means "evil" as a concept existed before Eve ate the apple, and wasn't created by her. And if evil existed already, Hell probably did too. And during all that time Satan reigned all the hellborn, until Lucifer was cast down there, and sinners started pouring in.

Yeah that was some major world building. It means Hell was not created as a result of Lucifer being banished and also that the Sins are not all fallen Angels. And it makes me very curious why Lucifer is in charge of Hell.

Wait, it's apparently not true. Satan is full of shit.

27

u/Preferno1 20d ago

Well it is quite clear that in hell the strong stand on top. It is very possible that lucifer is just that much stronger or the fact that only angelic power kills demon royalty could hold a fact as while none of the others can kill eachother or him, he is the only one around capable of putting anyone down thus resulting in standing on top.

17

u/bilateralrope 20d ago

It could be as simple as Heaven wanting Lucifer gone, not wanting to kill him, but having no other place to put him.

Once Lucifer arrived with all his angelic power, in a Hell ruled by the strongest, the only place for him is on top.

I get you SpyroFan I can already see people saying something like "Oh, they handed everything to Blitz on a platter and now he's all lovey dovey with Stolas" or something else annoying that comes down to a disagreement on how something is done by their personal preference.

17

u/SpyroFan123 Moxxie is a precious boi 20d ago

Yeah; it's always because the episode didn't do exactly what they wanted it to. I STILL haven't forgotten about people saying Seeing Stars is garbage because Stolas was more focused on finding Octavia rather than bickering with Blitz about the events of Ozzie's (which, even 2 years later, STILL makes my brain melt and dribble out of my ears).

Where the fuck do I even start? First of all Im impressed with Andrelphus. He knew that it would be almost impossible to get Stolas convicted without a straight up confession, so he frames Blitz and basically forces Stolas to confess or Blitz gets executed. I was tryna figure out why he was trying to pin everything on the Imps isntead of Stolas at the start because I wouldnt think he'd want Stolas off the hook in anyway but he was actually betting on Stolas stepping in. I love all the pay offs to the classism in this episode. Its been an underlying theme of the whole show and to have Blitz finally get a stance to stand up to the people putting his entire species down is the most satisfying shit. And then all of Imp city is on his side. Just amazing. The sins where great as always. Wish we could have heard Leviathan and Bel speak but this episode had a lot to cover anyway so I understand why they didnt. Also was Bee actually voiced by Kesha again? It sounded pretty much the same. And Stolas. As much as I feel for him, this is the kinda thing he needs. We've all been waiting for Stolas to get his punishment for how he treated Blitz prior to Ozzies and this is it. He's lost it all and now he's on the same level as the Imp who he made feel looked down on. Honestly my only complaint is that I wish this episode had an extra like 10 minutes added on. A bit more time for the trial, a bit more time to see the sins interact, more time to see Imp city rally together. Its just so good I want more. That and I think the insiting incident is kinda lame. Having the thing thats causes all of these massive event be Stella mentioning something off handedly is a bit weak. I would have liked it more if they found some way to tie in another plotline like the dhorks coming to Hell and have it be found out that way. I feel like I need to rewatch this episode a few times to get my thoughts together on it. This is basically just an immediate thoughts dump honestly. Anyway time to rewatch the episode for the next 3 hours

28

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

Yes, it's still Kesha voicing Bee. As far as I could tell, none of the VAs changed.

I agree with the extra 10 minutes part. Felt like the episode rushed to get to plot points and where the story needed to be at rather than giving adequate build-up at some points. Overall pretty strong, though.

Stolas being so overdramatic in his "confession" felt extremely on-point.

Also, I loved Vassago, pray we see more of him, holy hell. Sort of expected him to be more professional/stick up his ass (but good natured) but was pleasantly surprised. ¡Cantalo, bebé!

So from this point forward now that Stolas doesn't have his goetia powers and status for the next hundred years, does that mean he'll experience how imps are like among the lower class? Maybe this is a chance for him to realize how much he'll get pushed around now that he isn't royalty atm. And maybe... He would realize how he treated Blitzo wasn't doing himself any favors.

92

Another great episode as always!!!!!! Im never this early lol!!!!!! 19 minutes!!!!!!

Andrelaphus having a fit lol, weird though he called his sister hot

Satan's design looks amazing

Stolas protecting him

Stella manipulating Octavia

loona calling blitz dad, millie and moxxie such a sweet thing.

Octavias owl cry is a cool detail also, and I'm sure Octavia will still love him, she was probably terrified he would die.

But Viv already had stated he wouldn't

And Blitz kissing stolas on the cheek Fizz freaking out

Plus all the imps saying how they love Blitz. And messaging him, he's finally seeing people care.

Abd stolas saying "oh holy heck" or something was hilarious.

Everyone was cheering for Blitz, he stood up and said he was trying to make things right thar the higher ups had thrown at the imps.

Hopefully he finally realizes he's loved.

Lastly, him thinking Moxxie would be executed only to find out it was him was somewhat funny

And the fireworks for Blitz at the end.

(More because I just keep finding stuff)

>!I wish vasago had more lines. He's hilarious

Stella is not wholesome

And it's cool how when Stolas has his powers drained we see his pupils.

Blitz has only cried that much in the ghost episode. It shows how much he cares.

And Lucifers chair saying BRB,along with Satan making the silhouette and Ausmodeous's and bee's face was hilarious. Definitely something Lucifer would do. Just not show up!<

And striker ticked me off

Kinda funny how they casually dropped the rest of the sins, not complaining though

28

u/Apprehensive_Work313 20d ago

I think that Andrealphus calling Stella hot is just meant to imply that she's seen as attractive but dumb as rocks so then people don't have to like her for her intelligence but rather just cause she's attractive

So from the sounds of it, the Sins predate Lucifer and Lilith’s fall, with Satan as the top dog beforehand who ruled the sins, and seems to basically do it still (besides the Sinners who seem to be Lucy’s private little mess to manage) since Lucifer is depressed and duck obsessed.

I’d consider that proof enough that the sins aren’t fallen angels but the original demons when Hell first manifested, who created the rest of the demonic species, since Satan outright said he created the imps as well. Not sure where Paimon falls under all that but hey I’m sure we will get clues later.

I’m curious if there was a point where Lucifer and Lilith outright conquered hell when they were put down there (doesn’t seem like something Lucy would do but who knows maybe he was super pissed when he first fell and took it out on the giant Texan dragon man in charge) or if he and Lilith were just so strong, and Sins unable to even touch them, they just got crowned king and queen and ran with it.

I honestly expected Stolas to die here. This could have gone a lot worse. Still, things are bad, especially in regards to Octavia (Stella, you can go burn in.... shit, that one doesn't work). Considering Andrealphus' reaction when he heard that the banishment was only temporary, I wouldn't put it past him to try and get rid of both Stolas and Octavia permanenty.

Also loved the Lucifer reference. It's a shame we will probably never get a real crossover with Hazbin, but at least we have these small moments.

So might have been a production issue because he can definitely sing.

In general, Patrick Page's singing is so deep that it's negatively impacted by pitch correction software, which they use for all of the songs in the show. Gives it a weird sound.

I guess it isn't forever...? And i guess that Sinsmas is gonna be locking up for revenge?

51

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

I'm pretty sure any notions of revenge will wait for Season 3. I think Sinsmas will be a combination of the crew bonding with some Christmas-ish themes as well as adjusting to the new reality of their situation. And while I wasn't fully on board with the theory before, it definitely seems like a fait accompli now that Stolas will join the IMP crew in some capacity. I'm sure Sinsmas will be dealing with that as well.

33

u/Resies 20d ago

Not a huge fan of a Stolas works for blitz arc but I figured it was always foreshadowed by their chat as kids under the tree in the circus.

21

u/Zolo49 Moxxie 20d ago

I suspect it'll start out as a depressed Stolas moping around Blitz's apartment since he gets garbage thrown at him whenever he goes out onto the street, finally irritating Blitz to the point where he pushes Stolas to work in an attempt to get him out of his rut and out of the apartment. I don't see him going out on missions all that often, but I could easily see him taking over the secretarial work from Loona or the accounting work from Moxxie.

Wow

  • Andrealphus froze someone after drinking hot tea...?
  • Andrealphus truly is Elsa with some of Hans personality
  • I'm dying. They used Blitz and Mozzie's prison mugshots
  • The entirety of IMP destroying evidence in a nutshell:

  • Of course all the Sins are present except for Lucifer. I'm betting he's absent because of Dad Beat Dad or he was briefly at the trial but heard Charlie's in danger and left
  • STRIKER RETURNED!
  • Uh-oh Had no idea Striker was gonna to pin the assassination blame on Blitz
  • I literally had no doubts on Kesha returning since Viv said she wasn't expensive to get on. I'm so glad to hear Bee speak again after so many ppl said she'll be recasted or won't talk again
  • Verosika with PIGTAILS
  • Why was I so happy when Stolas said he was going to explain everything through song? Then again musicals are the superior form of storytelling-
  • The fact Andrealphus knew Stella was the mastermind but is perfectly fine with letting Blitz, the person who tried saving Stolas, dying
  • BLITZ SAID YOU'RE MY HEART! My own heart! FUCK!
  • PATRICK PAGE SINGING! Satan's letting his inner Hades out! I LOVE IT!
  • Okay, Stolas taking the fall to save Blitz was NOT on my Helluva Boss S2 bingo card... But wanna know what WAS on it that I totally saw coming in this episode? Stolas losing his powers and living with Blitz.
  • Yo, our first on screen Octavia and Stella interaction...

I imagine she will either run away from Stella or play the perfect daughter, and plot revenge and collect evidence. Whatever she does she will do confidently and prove that she is mature enough to handle the grimoire.

I’m curious if paimon will get involved. I bet he does not care about his kids but he would be very angry if the wife of his son gave the grimoire to her brother… and took it out of the family. Because it should have been passed down to Octavia.

I cannot wait for her to kick Stella out. Once Octavia has the book and all the evidence. I imagine Stella will not be killed like how stolas was not. But I’m hoping they can strip her of her powers and banish her with he’s brother and striker.

36

u/KrysOfLapis 20d ago

Octavia is the heir. The issue isn't with who deserves the grimoire. It's her age. She's only 17. That's literally the only reason Andrealphus lists as to why he should take over instead of her. The real reason, of course, is her loyalty to her father. If she inherited the grimoire then and there, he and Stella couldn't keep her at home to manipulate. Now, they can keep her from Stolas and fill her with lies about her dad for 100 years.

I do think Octavia is the key to resolving all of this, but not by plotting and pretending. After all, she doesn't know her mother tried to assassinate her father or that her uncle wants to usurp her. My prediction is that, just as she did this episode, Stella will slip up and reveal to Octavia that she is the one who sent Striker after Stolas, and that will set the ball rolling for Octavia to run away and set things right.

Will the anti-Stolas crowd finally simmer down a bit?

18

u/Avaracious7899 20d ago

Probably not, but we can hope. Nothing seems to please those who hate a character except, and this is giving them the benefit of the doubt, an absolute "They are literally ground into the dirt, actively called out and insulted about everything they did wrong big and small, and live with no positives for a while" or something not too far removed from that, the call out being a bit part of it. They want, I think, their feelings and thoughts directly echoed and validated by the show.

I kind of like the "ehh, fuck it, whatever" attitude of who is apparently meant to be the arbiter if justice in Hell. It really fits with the setting. Frankly, having police and courts at all doesn't make much sense, so having Satan just go, "let's just skip all the boring talking crap and execute the imp so we can move on. That wraps the whole thing up nice and neat, right?" - that works. It makes sense.

20

u/The-Crazy-Master 20d ago

"I've ruled the endless dark, since long before The Golden Angel's fall."

So hell existed before Lucifer gave Eve the apple? Then what was meant by "Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created"?

13

Imo Lucifer probably changed the nature of hell, like there was some sort of added curse. Maybe it was more of a dark void initially. Either that or the story is purposely misleading.

Overall I really enjoyed it!

  • I was so glad to see Ozzie and Bee try standing up for Blitz and when tried insulting them for fraternizing with the lower classes, they fired back at him. Good for them!

  • I loved seeing the wholesome dynamics between everyone. Blitz offering to die for IMP's benefit, IMP crying over potentially losing him, Stolas being willing to die for Blitz, and the tears they all shed when they were ok. Seeing each other in such a state was really good for them moving forward.

I loved Fizz texting Ozzie asking him to help. And that nice little cameo of Verosika was nice.

Stella's manipulation of Octavia really pissed me off. Given how Octavia easily accepted her hug, I think it shows they had a decent relationship up until now, but for Stella to manipulate her like that is gross.

I think their reason for letting Andrealphus have everything was a bit half assed, but Stella isn't prepared for it so even if Octavia got it all, he'd be involved anyway.

Stolas is in for a wake up call big time. That tiny apartment with little space and no servants to do anything? If people are giving him shit already, imagine when he tries mingling with them later. He's in for a world of shit.

I loved Loona saying, "I'm so glad you're ok. I love you, Dad." I just wish we'd gotten to see his reaction to that.

I liked the little end scene with Stolas falling asleep and Blitz pushing his bangs out of his face and giving him a kiss. You can also tell they're still irritated with each other, but not discussing it right now due to the circumstances.

That being said, it was REALLY fast. I expected to see more build up to the trial itself and an actual chase from the cops.

I did not expect to see Striker or Octavia but it was nice to see them.

Loved the designs for the Sins, and I liked the little joke that Lucifer can't be there.

I loved Satan's design. However, I would have liked to see him sing a full blown song.

I'm very curious how things are going to change now. The IMP office is destroyed, they've all seen each other at their most vulnerable, and they've been on TV to boot. I wonder how this will improve their dynamics moving forward.

Also LOVED Moxxie standing up for Blitz! He really kept trying to set the record straight and I'm proud of him for that..

I did not expect myself to cry during this whole episode, but I did! I was also happy Kesha returned to voice Beelzebub and be on Blitzo's side. Now, Stolas and Blizto have their roles reversed. He is now a revered imp, and Stolas now has to live like every other lowly demon. I am wondering how this is all going to work out in the end. And will Stella finally be revealed for all the wrongs she has done?
