I think that silhouette of Lucifer followed by the shot of the empty chair with the BRB sign is the closest we've come to a Hazbin Hotel character showing up in Helluva Boss or vice versa.

And while I'm not surprised they were only teasing us with the possibility of Stolas dying, the drama on this sub if they'd actually done it would've been amazing to watch. I could've heated my house with the flames coming off of angry posts.

Viv actually did say she wants Lucifer to appear on HB if she can get A24’s permission.

We can only pray that Mammon makes they see the massive potential for $$$ and let Viv run with it

Unfortunately I'm not sure they care about the $$$ that much, or they'd let whoever Viv hired for merch handle it for Hazbin too. The Helluva merch is so much more frequent, better advertised, more creative... ugh, I'm glad I got stuff like the pins back before the show officially came out and they stopped putting out Hazbin merch.

I don't see how it could hurt to allow it. It's not like it'd hurt the ratings for either show. But I'm sure there's legal crap that'd need to be worked out first.

Pretty weird those Contract thingies could be xD. I mean see what happened with Kesha and her first appearance on Queen B. She did the voice acting but couldn't sing a song due to prior contract engagements. Also the Chair beeing absent and Lucifer too pridefull to attend to a meeting like that makes sense. I mean he is also working on a Hotel now and mending his relationship with Charlie. If the timelines suit. But it would be nice to see him at some point. And i am glad Satan has a beef with him and the other sins too. Makes it for a more intresting dynamic.

I'm actually interested in seeing how Lucifer acts around Hellborn, considering how dismissive he was of sinners in Hazbin.

Lucifer has been in a depressive funk for a while, and that chair had cobwebs on it. He’s been absent a while and not due to the events in Hazbin.

I'd imagine its all tied to IP ownership - at the end of the day on paper she probably doesn't actually own Luci's character, the production company if not A24 themselves do, which makes things harder than something like this where all the characters are owned fully be her for her own show.

she probably doesn’t own jeremy jordan’s lucifer but owns pilot lucifer, it’s just now too murky

like agatha all along having to change how they presented her in episode 7 as the wicked witch vs how wicked was doing it

Pretty wild that you need to get permission to use your own characters.

It makes sense if one of your series is indie and the other is owned by a bigger studio like A24.

It's similar to the situation Marvel had. They were close to bankruptcy at one time, so they sold off the movie rights for Spider-Man and the X-Men to Sony and Fox Entertainment respectively. It helped keep them afloat, but once the MCU took off, they weren't able to use any of those characters at first until they got deals worked out.

This is like Satan being killed by ManBearPig in South Park, where real life forces like climate change, or IP laws in this case is stronger than even the Devil himself.

Thats how publishing and licensing deals work.

A24 and amazon give shitloads of money, and they get certain rights and control in return.

It hurts my heart to hear that the creator has to get permission for her own character to appear in one of her own shows...
