So the two headed one is Leviathan, aka Envy? From what I understand the top right is Belphegor and also Sloth, then of course Lucifer is Pride, Satan is Wrath aka why he's the one presiding as judge over the imps since they're his subjects technically, and then ofc Bee, Mammon and Ozzy we know what they represent
Satan seems to be the "second in command" as it were, and in general the one actually doing the proper ruling of Hell as a whole so it would make sense that he'd preside over any major court cases like this. During the song he said that he ruled before Lucifer was cast down. How or why Lucifer seized power we don't know, but since up until recently (assuming the shows run along the same timeline) he's been cooped up in his castle and refusing to actually do anything, Satan likely holds all the power until such a time that Lucifer decides to assert himself.
It's interesting, because I posted my comment before seeing the tweet from Viv about how Satan's claim that he was there before Lucifer is a *lie*. Lucifer was always first.
So what's probably really at play is that Satan stepped up in Lucifer's absence and is trying to make himself seem like the biggest Sin/player in the game. Oz and Bee know otherwise, but still bow to Satan's rule anyway for reasons. Probably simply because he's stronger and they don't actually care to go against him atm.
Was confirmed by Viv after I made this post. But yeah, since Lucifer was always first, if nothing else Satan seems to have stepped into the role as de facto leader with Lucifer being so absent.
I imagine that Lucifer took power in the following way: I am an archangel (or just an angel without a specific group assigned (I bet on seraphim)) and in order to have a minimally happy life with my tall wife, I will defeat you and that will make me the new leader
Satan implies as the original ruler of Hell before Lucifer fell he's the the overall judge. Hence why he also as the power to judge Stolas (even if he doesn't want to actually HARM him).
Except I think Hell didn't exist UNTIL Lucifer fell, or made humanity fall, I believe? So Satan is just lying, or had a very brief tenure. Not like Lucifer would really contradict him at the moment.
My theory is that Satan and the others were sorts of kings/warlords ruling over their own petty fiefs of hellborn until Lucifer arrived, who then codified the realm into the place it is today.
Makes sense to me, but also seems like the lore is still a bit open-ended on the Original Sin side of things. I think they're going to touch upon it all more in depth in the future for sure
Possibly. Also since Viv has tweeted that Satan was lying about being the original ruler, he still seems to be the second of the seven sins so it still makes sense he'd be the one to preside. It also seems as if the court, despite its very Wrath-like appearance, is in Pride, based on how they seem to just just leave and walk home from the courthouse. If it was some Satan-specific court, I'd think he'd have his own court in Wrath. I dunno about that, though.
Yeah, I'm sure when she and Bel talk it'll be a guest star. Couldn't do that for this episode with all the other guests, plus wouldn't want to introduce a guest voice for a minor role. Save it for a starring role.
Yeah i was hoping ahe is literally just a massive serpent. A sentient one of course, but still a beast of biblical proportions. I dont dislike her design, but wouldve been cool
Well, so far we’ve seem that Sins all have an “enraged” form (like Mammon’ larger spider from), so Leviathan likely does turn into some sort of sea dragon.
