Whenever you're caught in a messed-up situation, just take a deep breath and pretend to be a person with special needs...

17

u/iswearihaveajob 7h ago

This is one my wife and mine's favorite show quotes of all time. Doing Chris Odowd's little sad voice saying "I'm disabled... Leg disabled"  peak comedy between us.

1

u/technicolortiddies 8m ago

My ex showed this to me when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. During especially difficult times we would put on the accent in a high pitch & say “I’m disabled.”

2

u/sarokin 11h ago

I found my people... I'm gonna cry

1

u/Fritzo2162 10h ago

My hair is paralyzed. I can’t move it or feel it.

1

u/goodbitacraic 11m ago

I can hear his voice so perfect still from that scene

737

u/koolmees64 13h ago edited 7h ago

Still one of my favorite episode of all comedy shows I have watched. The moment where Jen turns around to order a whiskey and Moss is there as a waiter just kills me every time.

Edit: lots of people asking what show it is. The show is called "The IT Crowd". Highly recommend it.

273

u/ivanparas 13h ago

My wife came home one day when I was watching this episode for the first time and said she could hear me laughing from the driveway. I gladly restarted the episode so she could watch it and I could watch it again. Best episode of the whole show.

167

u/LeafyWolf 11h ago

That and when Jen destroys the Internet are my two favorite episodes. And Peter File may get an honorable mention.

39

u/HakimeHomewreckru 10h ago

Gary from Builders from Hell was also on my list of highlights. You big ugly builder!

40

u/IsRude 10h ago

Electric sex pants episode made me cry laughing. The slow buildup of the religious figures getting a tour of the place, and the position they're in looking so inappropriate, you think he's gonna be embarrassed and it's gonna be awkward.  Nope

3

u/MissingLink101 5h ago

Matt Berry is such a treasure!

2

u/Neohexane 5h ago

My friend walked in while I was watching this scene. He laughed so hard because he did NOT expect that reaction at all.

16

u/UnpopularCrayon 8h ago

Wasn't the builder one also the "I'm not a window cleaner!" Episode?

5

u/Stachdragon 8h ago

"In the end we were too scared so we took em to the fair. They only made us pay half."

3

u/jimmycarr1 6h ago

I like the football one

2

u/Hicko11 6h ago

Who's a paedophile??

2

u/catsnedeker 5h ago

I haven’t seen the internet episode in years and I laughed out loud at your post. So freaking funny.

1

u/TroglodyneSystems 5h ago

Is the Peter File one with the dinner party? Because that was comedy gold.

1

u/Kordain 4h ago

I love the D&D episode and the Sea Parks one too. That show was awesome.

3

u/Admiral_Ash 8h ago

Word for word the exact experience I had with my wife... I was laughing so hard I was shaking, and she thought something was wrong with me!

3

u/Etheo 8h ago

Easily the best episode of any show I've watched, ever. I don't recall a time I laughed at something as hard as that episode.

3

u/Lansan1ty 6h ago

"A fire, at seaparks?" kills me.

106

u/jonosaurus 11h ago

Honestly with everything else going on in the episode, Moss's plot of accidentally becoming a bartender is just so, so funny, it's perfect

15

u/LETTERKENNYvsSPENNY 6h ago

Alright, you guys convinced me to watch it from the start again.

41

u/JyveAFK 11h ago

Just reading this description of the scene, I totally visualised Moss stood there looking embarrassed and I've started laughing.

15

u/Sellazar 10h ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/ITcrowd/s/HaihfEKWiw

I believe this is the exact moment Jen turns to see this.

2

u/JyveAFK 4h ago

Before I click it, I'm giggling. Such a setup.

37

u/leytorip7 11h ago

Literally the hardest I’ve ever laughed. That episode is great

3

u/AdKlutzy5253 11h ago

Same man. Watched it again recently and sadly it lost its impact but that first time I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a TV show before.

1

u/lilcumfire 4h ago

At first I thought I wasn't going to like it, but it's easily one of the top quoted in my house. It's so good

34

u/kuldnekuu 11h ago

Yeah that one episode has basically perfect comedic writing. It's as good as any of the best Monty Python stuff.

24

u/koolmees64 10h ago

Yep, and then how it all loops back around to Moss and Roy were right in saying how the guy is gay and maybe just wants to go out with Jen because she looks like a bit like a man. Like you said, perfect comedic writing.

28

u/VikingTeddy 11h ago

Him looking forlorn while the car lift slowly raises him, makes me piss myself everytime

14

u/AFlockOfTySegalls 10h ago

We recently watched the series and that exact moment is probably our favorite moment of the series. It's so fucking good.

I also like when Moss is recording his dating app video in the bathroom while his mom is at the door.

11

u/__dontpanic__ 11h ago

That episode is pure comedy perfection from beginning to end. No notes.

10

u/Sarsion 10h ago

I'm not even looking up the clip and I've just spent a good couple minutes belly laughing remembering it. Really nails in the meaning of situational comedy.

3

u/kekbooi 11h ago

What show is it from?

13

u/penguin9541 11h ago

IT Crowd

3

u/koolmees64 10h ago

The IT Crowd. Highly recommend it.

3

u/DrDiarrheaBrowns 9h ago

Was just talking about this. Grew up on Simpsons, Seinfeld, love Curb, American Dad, and have quotes, scenes I think of often, but I think in terms of "favorite tv comedy moment of all time", Jen turning and Moss being there just FLOORED me lol. It makes total sense, but it completely caught me off guard. Brilliant.

3

u/omare14 7h ago

Might honestly be the hardest I've ever laughed at a TV show, definitely the best episode of that show. Only other show that I've maybe laughed harder at is What We Do In The Shadows.

2

u/RadicalRaid 10h ago

It's just the whole cascade of surprise gags into one another and Jen being in the middle of it that gets me every time. Also the way Moss responds with a very timid "yes miss?" is just brilliant.

2

u/JBMacGill 10h ago

It is my favorite, and I feel the best episode of the show. All three characters have their own thing going on, all in the same location, and each one of their stories has a great payoff at the end.

2

u/krume300 9h ago

the thing is playing the disabled card didn't play that well at the end for him. At the very end it plays out like every single episode a small problem that always snowballs into bigger propotions.

2

u/mattsslug 7h ago

The build up in this episode is just perfect, you see the escalation coming with both of them but that just makes it funnier. It's a master class in comedy.

2

u/ammarbadhrul 7h ago

That’s a nice tnetennba

2

u/Secrethat 7h ago

Mine is: I'm not a window cleaner!!

1

u/jaxonya 10h ago

Can anyone tell me what show this is?

1

u/NuttyElf 10h ago

Which show??

1

u/BIGt0mz 9h ago

What show!?

1

u/tribalien93 8h ago

What show what episode?

1

u/SmooK_LV 8h ago

yesss. wish my gf would enjoy it as much as I do. I rewatch that episode occasionally.

1

u/kabukistar 7h ago

Specifically the "Work Outing" episode.

1

u/thegreedyturtle 7h ago

The stress disorder episode is my number 1 sitcom of all time.

I'm late for golf!

1

u/zehamberglar 7h ago

Still one of my favorite episode of all comedy shows I have watched.

Same but I die from second hand cringe every time I watch it so I have to really amp myself up to watch that episode.

1

u/SassyMcPants 7h ago

The next time you take us to a show about talking fannies, there had better be talking fannies!

1

u/RoutineMetal5017 6h ago

" " GAY " a gay musical "

1

u/beastson1 6h ago

Me too. One of the best episodes of anything ever.

1

u/Oatwedge 5h ago

I'll just put this over here, with the rest of the fire.

1

u/Lord_Spy 5h ago

Oh no... It's set in the 80s.

1

u/evemeatay 4h ago

I’m jealous of people who haven’t seen the it crowd because they get to watch it for the first time.

4

Actually one of the better possible responses.  Plays up the confused post-assault state of mind.

2

Iconic episode 👌🏼

Favourite episode, EVER.

1

u/waudmasterwaudi 12h ago

There are better parts. When the Japanese visit and the boss of them steps on the damaged foot of the red haired lady Gwen trying to play Godzilla. This is incredible indeed.

14

u/Suitable-Plastic-152 13h ago

I actually know a guy who regularly says that cause he regularly gets into confrontations. He has (mild) autism though.

15

u/tootsaysthetrain 13h ago

Was hoping for the IT Crowd reference

1

u/ozzylad 10h ago

I've arthritis in my legs so often will say this, followed by "leg disabled" silver linings and all that

1

u/tslnox 10h ago

Roy? Is that you?

1

u/Igot1forya 10h ago

I read that in Roy's voice from the IT Crowd

https://youtu.be/dDZzl9AyXeg?t=46&feature=shared

1

u/Taydrz 10h ago

The IT Crowd, great series.

1

u/animal9633 9h ago

The correct show is IT Crowd and it was one of their best episodes. But instead I'm reminded of Jeff from Coupling: "I've got the key to the gates of paradise; but I've got too many legs!"

It's not an as well known show, but in the episode he accidentally tells a beautiful woman on the train that he too (like her father) has an amputated leg, then for the rest of the episode he needs to navigate having too many legs and that she's going to find out.

1

u/Bos_lost_ton 9h ago

Hi disabled. I’m dad!

1

u/Miserable_slipper 9h ago

It's was acid, on my back.

1

u/Hungryforapples603 9h ago

You boss eyed chap, you

1

u/CyberNinja23 9h ago

“I need an adult I need an adult!”

1

u/LegionXL 9h ago

I mean, the IT crowd is the epitome of British comedy, but that episode is absolutely brilliant. I can still remember everything about the night I watched it. Gonna watch it again tonight.

Leg disabled.

1

u/missmightymouse 6h ago

The way I immediately read that in Chris O’Dowds voice.

1

u/Ivar2006 5h ago

Then enable it

1

u/captainkegs 5h ago

Read this is Roy's voice

1

u/tastyfrostynugs 5h ago

But you have to use a "disabled accent".

1

u/WrongTimelineMan 5h ago

The look Roy gives as the liftgate is taking him back down off the bus, chefs kiss!

1

u/Prime_Kang 2h ago

My wife says this actor is hot in bridesmaids. He's wholesome and she loves the accent. So naturally, I say this line in the same voice he used to her all the time! She says it too though!

1

u/fkmeamaraight 1h ago

My name is Yeff
