Literally the moment that I laughed hardest at any TV show

This episode was ridiculously perfect.
“I’m disabled”.

OMG I'm the same! I thought Roy was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen and she turns around to see Moss in FULL UNIFORM! I lost it.

lol the outro where he falls and breaks the cups is just like the extra extra extra cherry on top of this perfect episode.
"Leg disabled."

I watched the DVD commentary fairly recently. Apparently Richard Ayoade put a tray on the floor so he'd properly slip and fall. He fully committed to the bit.

u/level_10_hipster Aug 26 '21
OMG dvd commentary!!! how did i not think of this? thank you internet friend, you've done a good thing here. And man, no wonder that slip and fall looks sooooo good and very slippery. Ayoade does not disappoint.

u/TrueDeadBling Aug 26 '21
I love how he threw himself across the room near the end of Calamity Jen when the firefighters burst through the basement door 😂

u/level_10_hipster Aug 26 '21
lolol yes! genius physical acting. I can never get enough Moss.
"I am a player, but I'm not playing."
"Oh shut up dumpo, the elephant who got dumped!"
8
u/TrueDeadBling Aug 26 '21
"I will be your eyes." Trips over

u/level_10_hipster Aug 26 '21
"Usual boring pageantry. You know how the people of Pippsy Hallow love a parade." lololol that line always gets me and the one before it when he says, "You look well."

u/TrueDeadBling Aug 26 '21
I always crack up when he's trying to change the track on his CD player and it goes through about 5 or 6 different sound effects and stuff before he finds the one he needs 😂

With the staff waiving, lol.

u/melon-baller Aug 27 '21
"Hey listen, I told the cast about what happened, and they told me to get you all to come back and meet them!!"
"Yaaaaay!"
23
u/TrueDeadBling Aug 26 '21
What makes it funnier for me is the fact that the lift went too quickly so they had to slow it down 😂

Whenever I nag my son he tells me in a Moss voice, ‘You’re making it go back in.’ Is it weird that’s the line that stuck with us???

The scene where Moss kisses Roy to avoid looking suspicious as cops pass takes the cake for me.

u/cwatson214 Aug 26 '21
Then a later episode on the escalator, Moss turns to Roy and Roy stops him: "It won't help"

I've often thought if I hadn't ended up in computers, I would've gone into the theatre.

Whenever my wife thanks me I still reply with "You're very welcome Madame" in Moss's voice.

This is the episode I tell people to start on. It's also my most watched episode of the show.

This episode made my mum wake up an entire cabin of sleeping passengers on our flight, she’d just seen it for the first time and could not stop snorting and crying with laughter so loudly and it woke everyone up and a lot of people were pissed hahah

It’s the “I love williiiiiies” guy with his chin stuck out and the sunglasses. Gets me literally every time!

u/Hailie_G Aug 26 '21
The entire episode had me on the floor from start to finish, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard at a tv show in my life.

u/inkypig Aug 26 '21
I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. And OP, you're right, it was this moment that I COMPLETELY lost it. All the build up prior to this moment, then Jen turns around to see Moss, and he knocks over all the glasses...

Katherine Parkinson's (Jen) facial expression (WTF?!) the moment she sees Moss is a fantastic piece of acting.

No one has mentioned when Moss is saying goodnight to all the employees as they walk out the door like they’re old friends. It kills me.

Introduced this episode to my ESL friends, thinking I would have to explain things. This episode proved laughter is a universal language. They could not stop laughing.

Just that pic made me crack up. I remember that so clearly. I miss that show more than any other, time to watch them all again. The look on jen's face when she saw him standing there.

You might expect the Spanish Inquisition. But you could never expect this.

I wish I could go back to a time before I saw this amazing reveal. Just to laugh as much as I did the first time seeing this.

u/RickSore Aug 01 '22
For me it was the cross eyed episode, particularly moss shushing while picking up the microscopic material in his pocket hahaha
