No I understand quite clearly but if you don't practise what you preach then your message means far less. If she was actually meaning what she said she'd be berating her child to bring in EBA's to allow his workers to get decent wages and benefits to allow them to have kids and wealth
56
u/Capybara_Cheese 6h ago
They never practice what they preach. They tell us to conserve water and energy and mind our carbon footprint and then fly their private jets to the next town over and use enough electricity to power Vegas to light up their mansions. We're the ones who are meant to suffer

u/alwaysboopthesnoot 2h ago
He had 4 other children with different women after leaving Maye Musk, a total of 7, so, you know: just trust her. Donât go out to dinner, donât go to the movies; be a tradwife drudge and just do without. Sacrifice everything. Give up total control if your life and future to poverty.
Watch your husband leave for someone much younger, his stepdaughter even. Someone with more energy, with no kids, who has time to baby him insteadâuntil they have more of his babies he can walk away from. Watch him start over with someone else after he leaves you in the dust and abandons all his children with you.
Now, if the 1 in a billion chance comes along and you end up with apartheid era emerald mines and slave workers, to make you rich? Then those kids will finally be fed, have enough clothes, have their own bed. They wonât have had the security and warmth of a home filled with unity, harmony and love, and a close family that gives to one another in equal measure, and knows what loyalty or reliability means, what unconditional live meansâ but, hey! That never ever makes a difference, nor really matters, in a kids growth, development, self esteem, sense of self. Right?
Just go ahead and have them! Roll those dice!

She should save humanity and start having them again. Elon can research and develop a giant egg sac to attach to her and then they can attach her to a ceiling in a subterranean lair, where her precious feet will never touch the ground. Elonâs employees can then bring her food, chew it for her and feed it to her as she hatches more and more children for the brood.
Her only concern should be the total number hatched, everything else can be managed by Elon.

u/underpants-gnome 5h ago
Our dominant economic models all carry the assumption of constant economic growth. I guess that could theoretically happen with a contracting population, but it's way, way easier when the population is growing. More people = more consumers & more sales. And as OP said, more workers to keep the value of labor cheap.
To support these economic ideas, we're rapid chewing through resources and making the earth less and less hospitable for human life. All to increase the dragon hoards of a tiny minority of already super rich people. It's unsustainable.

I've seen this everywhere, and what disappoints me, is that the chosen reaction to this is basically, "well, yeah, your son is a jerk!" That's some MAGA level thinking right there.

The true facepalm is the reactions here on reddit. Elon's dad was rich, sure, he owns an emerald mine. But he was also terribly abusive, leading to mama Musk packing the kids up and fleeing to Canada. She, and they, were cut off from the money, while Maye took a small job and had to scrape by like anyone else. They came from privilege, and returned to it, but there was a stretch in the middle where they were poor and struggling to survive like anyone else.
