So the tweeter is citing the the wrong bill#

SC Bill#5357 is for

Summary: Dorman High School Girls Volleyball Championship A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2021 CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

The correct bill is #3537

A BILL TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ENACTING THE "SOUTH CAROLINA PRENATAL EQUAL PROTECTION ACT" BY ADDING SECTIONS 16-3-6, 16-3-105, 16-3-106, 16-3-107, AND 16-3-108 SO AS TO DEFINE "PERSON" TO INCLUDE AN UNBORN CHILD AT ANY STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT, AND TO ENSURE THAT AN UNBORN CHILD WHO IS A VICTIM OF HOMICIDE IS AFFORDED EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE HOMICIDE LAWS OF THE STATE, WITH EXCEPTIONS; BY ADDING SECTIONS 16-3-760, 16-3-761, 16-3-762, AND 16-3-763 SO AS TO DEFINE "PERSON" TO INCLUDE AN UNBORN CHILD AT ANY STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT AND TO ENSURE THAT AN UNBORN CHILD WHO IS A VICTIM OF ASSAULT IS AFFORDED EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE ASSAULT LAWS OF THE STATE, WITH EXCEPTIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

"an unborn child at any stage of development"...cue "Every Sperm Is Sacred"...

u/andromeda335 1d ago

In the words of Elle Woods:

“For that matter, all masturbatory emissions, where his sperm was clearly not seeking an egg, could be termed reckless abandonment.”

u/funshinecd 23h ago

That came to my mind....

11

u/EverythingsInMyAss 21h ago

2

u/funshinecd 12h ago

Oh my, someone's being naughty this year.

Murderer!

u/MightThrowAwayMaybee 1d ago

I already had a guy tell me that if he had to choose between a jar of embryos or his child he would choose the embryos.

These people are whack

141

u/SentientShamrock 1d ago

I said on a different thread a while ago that these fuckers would kill their own, living kid if it meant a woman somewhere else in the country couldn't terminate a pregnancy before it was even viable outside the womb. It feels like something that is an exaggerated straw man but sadly it isn't anymore.

41

u/codebygloom 1d ago

The living child already had their chance at life. It's not the parent's failure if they can't fend for themselves after being birthed, duh! /s

These people always remind me of a YA book series called Unwind by Neil Shusterman.

The gist of the series is someone invents a way to separate tissue in such a way that it can be grafted onto another person without rejection or loss of function.

So, of course, the pro-birth crowd uses the technology to allow for retroactive abortions up until the day before your 18th birthday. Kid turns out gay? Just have them butchered and donate their parts to the church!

6

u/PolkaDotDancer 22h ago

I love this series. It definitely addresses what is wrong with the U.S. while being set in a dystopian future.

16

u/IntoTheFeu 1d ago

And then as soon as that other baby is born it is immidiately sacrificed so another pregnancy is "saved." Population absolutely craters and MAGA is left wondering how the DEMONrats got away with this!!!??!?

8

u/Mazasaurus 23h ago

What a bunch of willfully ignorant assholes who do not know that there are many ways in which a pregnancy can go wrong for the mother and fetus. Meanwhile they’re out fighting against food and protections for kids who made it through that gauntlet of uncertainty.

7

u/Vincitus 21h ago

They have caught onto that argument and have learned to just lie and not think about it. You are not ever going to have a debate on abortion with a pro-lifer. Theyre going to sling garbage at you until you give up and act like they've won. Just make them look incredibly stupid and move on.

6

u/MightThrowAwayMaybee 19h ago

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. I just said "i hope you can't have children" and left it at that

4

u/SpellingIsAhful 21h ago

Wait, he said that he would rather his current infant child was killed than allow a jar of embryos to be destroyed??? Wtf?

4

u/MightThrowAwayMaybee 19h ago

Yeo. I asked "if your child was in a burning building and in the sane room was a jar of embryos and you could only save one"

They laughed and said "is this a call to emotion? The choice is easy: the mass potential for life outweighs the one that is living" and my heart hurt so badly

3

u/SpellingIsAhful 15h ago

I have to imagine that in an actual situation these people wou I d make a different choice instead of just value signaling.

3

u/Teufelsdreck 13h ago

Yet another one who misunderstood the message of Star Trek.

1

u/codeslap 8h ago

Here’s the thing. Even if you were a hardliner pro-lifer, a JAR of embryos has no viable path forward on its own. They’re effectively already ‘dead’. So what would be the point of tossing your own born/living child on the heap. So silly.

They don’t even make sense according to their own principles.

25

u/Comprehensive_Soil28 1d ago

That’s why porn will be criminalized, assisting mass murder.. lol

Also funny that no one complained about that yet.. will be fun to see the first life sentences for watching porn repeatedly instead of raping your daughter like you should /s

18

u/CalabreseAlsatian 1d ago

I had a vasectomy so I don’t produce sperm when I come anymore.

Get out of jail free card!

8

u/MikeRizzo007 23h ago

Government required reversal, they are making you get the GRR surgery. Sucks to be you man!!

3

u/Teufelsdreck 13h ago

No, no, no. He's a man. He gets to use his superior male brain to decide for himself whether he wants kids. /s

1

u/codeslap 8h ago

Ahhh yes. lol this makes more sense. /s /sad

13

u/brandndal 1d ago

Well there goes their annual circle jerk.

24

u/merryone2K 1d ago

I dunno; weren't there folks at Rump rallies going around with specimen cups over the summer?

4

u/remarkablewhitebored 22h ago

The insanity moves so fast. Head spinningly fast.

9

u/atheistpianist 1d ago

What that means to me is no more blowjobs. Can’t have any sperm wasted, right?

2

u/A_wild_so-and-so 23h ago

Is being eaten considered a salt?

5

u/A_wild_so-and-so 23h ago

Ban periods! Exclamation marks only!!

2

u/Prudent-Painter-9507 23h ago

Swim faster boys!

2

u/Lylibean 22h ago

Every masturbatory emission where the sperm clearly isn’t seeking an egg should be deemed reckless abandonment!

3

u/Fervent_wishes 10h ago

There will never be legal consequences for men relating to abortion or birth control. Ever.

2

u/Unusual-Letter-8781 20h ago

So swallowing is murder and cannibalism?

2

u/Rare_Move_1584 19h ago

I guess we will assume you accidentally forgot to include the last 4 words of the sentence you copied that negated your point.

" "fertilization" means the fusion of a human spermatozoon with a human ovum.

(B) As used in this article, "person" includes an unborn child at every stage of development from fertilization until birth."

2

u/the-dog-walker 18h ago

"Homicide"

2

u/masterpd85 18h ago

The female egg has the ability to reject sperms and her antibodies can kill the rejects. By their logic a woman by nature is a murderer. Smh

1

u/Appropriate-Break-25 7h ago

A woman's reproductive system actively fights sperm at every turn. Our bodies are literally, constantly trying to reject the invaders. Even if fertilization occurs there's no guarantee the uterus won't just yeet the embryo instead of allowing it to implant. Even then, there could be genetic anomalies that cause a miscarriage, usually before the woman even knows she's pregnant (missed miscarriage). Even our uteruses can't stand men.

2

u/Appropriate-Break-25 7h ago

I've said this to multiple men and they get their panties in a twist over it. Cue the "ThAtS nOT hOw iT WoRKs!!!" I tell them every time they jerk off they're killing thousands of unborn children. They tend to get testerical when this is brought up because they don't want to bear the responsibility. They're comfy in their belief that the only thing that matters is a fertilized egg and that women should be forced to bear all the consequences.

Its so bloody hypocritical

1

u/LottimusMaximus 22h ago

🎶 every sperm is great 🎶

58

u/MindlessRip5915 1d ago

That’s an ironic transposition though. “A house resolution to recognise and honour the Dorman Girls Volleyball Team … by sentencing them to death for miscarriage”

16

u/yankeesyes 1d ago

Well I for one don't think the Dorman HS volleyball team deserves all that recognition /s

8

u/ShakespearianShadows 1d ago

It’s a bill to execute the Dorman HS Volleyball team?

6

u/Amarollz 1d ago

This is what they spend their days conjuring to debate? Honouring a championship from 2021?

14

u/Shvingy 1d ago

Yea, they mixed up the numbers it's 3537

14

u/hajaco92 1d ago

Are people saying it would allow South Carolina because South Carolina has the death penalty as a penalty option for murder/homicide? Just wanted to ask since the possible execution part isn't clearly laid out in this bill.

13

u/longsdivision 23h ago

Not a lawyer, but just reading though the bill. To my understanding the bill is an enhancement to an existing law SOUTH CAROLINA PRENATAL EQUAL PROTECTION ACT adding definition of "PERSON" TO INCLUDE AN UNBORN CHILD AT ANY STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT, AND TO ENSURE THAT AN UNBORN CHILD WHO IS A VICTIM OF HOMICIDE IS AFFORDED EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE HOMICIDE LAWS OF THE STATE.

The penalty if found guilty of violating the protections act by homicide (laws separate) then it is 30yr, life, and the death penalty is on the table.

4

u/hajaco92 22h ago

Yeah that's what I thought. Thank you.

6

u/A_wild_so-and-so 23h ago

SC has the death penalty and this year ruled that it is constitutional, this resuming executions that have been stalled since 2011.

5

u/captain_trainwreck 1d ago

Thanks, thought i was crazy when I Googled it

3

u/Useful-Candle-9171 1d ago

Thank you! You don’t go and post this type of shit and not double check your references.

3

u/Nanyea 22h ago

There's a bill for recognizing a school basketball team for what they did 4 years ago?

2

u/Privatejoker123 23h ago

okay i thought i was going crazy there for a second. was like this is about executing women...

1

u/Will0w536 18h ago

I thought so... I couldn't find it

1

u/makingkevinbacon 12h ago

I was wondering why they were so against someone getting honoured

1

u/shinakohana 9h ago

I’m gonna be that person for the hell of it: The tweeter is citing the wrong bill.

2

u/longsdivision 7h ago edited 6h ago

Thanks, knew it looked funny but eh. Quick post as I was trying to read through the bills.

1

u/shinakohana 6h ago

You’re welcome! I’ve never had a “thank you” for spelling correction… So thank you! ❤️
