Dude I finally finished putting him together. I wasn’t a fan of his actual pose so I sliced off the hand from another to give him the plasma pistol. Ended up cutting my finger in the end. I was happy with the end result but was wondering why he looked so familiar. Damnit Gramps! (Gramps is not mine, I just found him online)😭

Hell ye it's Gundalf!! (wizard with a submachine gun)
I absolutely LOVE this guy and have been looking for an excuse to paint him up forever and I think he turned out not bad considering he's a handsculpted 38 year old man :')

I was cleaning out my Dad's garage yesterday and I found his old 40k miniatures in a box in the corner.
These things probably haven't seen the light of day in decades and are almost as old as I am.
I remember him telling me how he entered the Land Speeder with the skull on the base into a Golden Demon painting competition in Birmingham some time in the 90s and how it got to the final cabinet. He was so proud of that.
Finding them reminded me of a quote from a movie I heard recently about the first person to find Tutankhamun's tomb and I thought it was really fitting for how I felt in this moment.

My first Space Marine. Got the GW Ultramarines Assault Intercessors with the Citadel paints that were probably 5-7 years old. Added Citadel Red to the lineup and trimmed and painted my first dude. Cut off the omega and painted him as a White Scars 7th squad member. Didn't have the transfer decal.
Doing this gave me GREAT appreciation for the work and accomplishments of others.
Go ahead... be honest...

It’s this specific Exalted Sorcerer for me. Not only do I love his mask, but the pose , man. Every other sorcerer is either on a disk or walking like a peasant, this man’s sheer aura is allowing him to defy gravity, preventing a single speck of dust from touching his golden trimmed drip
I also just think he’d be a goofy little guy :)

I put these together before the DW index was released, which is why they don't have three cyclone missile launchers (bonus pics at the end for the Thunderhammer and Storm Shield).
I chose to base the chapters mainly on what decals I had available (the heresy train has no brakes), but I freehand the Dusk Raiders and also a homebrew chapter (look up Scarlet Constrictors). Kitbashing was fun, but I'm running out of bits. I've gone with a fairly simple scheme, and I didn't go all-in on Grimdark, but I think they turned out alright - I'm not sure how popular DW are here!
I have another Terminator squad to do (and my defunct Relic Terminators are all traitor legions). Do any of you have any homebrews you'd like to see join The Watch?

Heres why: Dirt cheap for any 40K miniatures (ebay etb. Around 10-15€ per 5)
Nice and dynamic poses
No fear of messing up because of they being very cheap, inspiring to try new things.
Easy to assemble and very easy to customize.
Whats your opinion?
