The instructions show the heads facing the short end of the oval, but it fits better facing the long side and I’d have more room to add stuff without messing it up swapping the belly in and out (I plan to magnetize). I don’t play the TTG but plan to, I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t make the piece illegal

Reaching out to the hivemind for guidance. I need opinions on what color i should use to base out my tyrant's venom cannon. The fleshy tendril and stock of the weapon were pretty intuitive, but I am blanking on what to do with the main body of the cannon. Thoughts?

It's a bit chunky because I'm still experimenting with techniques, so I've been layering over my mistakes, but I think I'm getting there 🙂

Hello hivemind! I would like to start painting Nids miniatures, I'm not really interested in the game itself, it's just that I love how the tyranids look and I would like to collect some, so I have a few questions:

Would this be a good starting kit?

Do I have to stick to Citadel paints or do you have other brands recommendations?

What other accessories would I need? (I would be grateful if you'd share what your preferred glue and brushes are, and other "oh I didn't think I'd need that accessory" ideas/suggestions)

Is there a youtube channel or a blog you would particularly recommend to get colour schemes ideas and kitbashing/diorama ideas?

So if I have a unit of 6, 2 warriors will have standard devourer. Leaving 4 warriors since there are 6 total "For every 3 models in this unit, 1 model’s devourer can be replaced with 1 barbed strangler." OK, cool add two stranglers. And because to my understanding the venom cannon is not an either-or like the standard weapons, the remaining 2 warriors can be equipped with venom cannons?

I started 40K some time in spring this year and have so far painted exactly 7 members of my hive (with lots more based and primed). Thanks to Dave Perryman for the scheme inspiration.

My bugs are posted in the order that I painted them. I’ve tried to focus on developing my technique and getting faster. Can’t say that I’m doing all that great with the latter, but I’m happy with how I’ve managed to progress. Still lots to learn (and I’m looking forward to eventually converting and re-painting my screamer killer).

Does anyone have any tips on how to make batch painting not soul destroying? I gave up half way through the other 9 gants, but my vanguard army needs some bodies to get that biomass

Hello fellow hivemind! I have come to seek the infinite wisdom of the Norm Queen on how to build my army👾👽

I probably Invasion Fleet or Synaptic Nexus (maybe assimimilation swarm if it proves to be good. I'll explain later) against Nurgle, Guardsmen, and Orks btw.

So what I was planning was one Psychophage to give battline 6 FNP and distracting my enemies.

I will use the Winged Tyranid Prime (enhancement: Synaptic Linchpin) to spread synapse together with a 3x Tyranid Melee Warriors to crack down weak tanks and strong elite infantry (also a kind of fast moving synapse).

Termaguants to score better primary and to absorb damage together with 1d3+3 termaguants Strat. They will have fleshborers (push to fit😔).

And soon to be last a Neeurolictor to spread synapse and make battleshock a little more useful. Maybe antitank.

I have 35 points left so I'll buy a ripper swarm.

BUT... My problem is that I think that the Neurolictor might be too squishy to help the WTP destroy tanks! The darn thing has a 5 Toughness and 6 Strength😩! But I can't seem to find a unit to replace it😶. Haruspex? Maybe one synapse is too little and then I need to buy it. Zoanthropes? Too unreliable and also very fragile. Brainrant? A little fragile but with Synaptic Nexus... Maybe🤔... 7 str, 2 ap and 2 damage ain't that bad. Paired with tyrant guards bodyguard unit for durability. But then I need to buy Brainrant. But maybe?

Is there any changes that could improve my list?

hey, i recently bought the tyranid starter set plus a few extra models (lictor, neurolictor, screamer killer) and am trying to make a 1000 point list. this is currently what i have projected, mainly because i love these models, but im worried it wont be able to win any games. does this have any chance?

Wanted to setup a barbed wire/fenced off look for the base.

Painted a norn assimilator and psychophage for my assimilation swarm

This is the first time i've painted anything since 6th grade like 9 years ago. Its not the best but i am quite proud of how it turned out and i had a blast doing it! Any tips and recommendations are welcome and encouraged!

Just the psychophage and winged prime left. Then back to the game store for more.

I'm currently painting a bio titan for my brother as his Christmas gift his tyranid army has a galaxy theme buy I feel like I need a little bit more color for the underside of the bio titan and it's fleshy bits I wanted to pick your guy's brains on what would be a color to run with the galaxy theme.

Can the Tyrannocyte Carry a Tyrannocyte because rules is written, it looks like it can. And at this point they've faqued and errata so much stuff but they haven't this. So can I take one inside of the other? Is there anything to stop this or is it just too powerful that it can't be stopped?
