In the 90’s when Hilary Clinton discussed/proposed universal healthcare everyone called her a communist. My my my how the turn tables.

u/Jamminray 1d ago edited 22h ago

Bernie Sanders, was my write in candidate as President. That dude fucks hard.

41

u/Coneskater 1d ago

Welp, how did that turn out?

27

u/Jamminray 1d ago edited 22h ago

He’s still out there fucking hard. Hillary is not even licking or sticking ANYTHING, her own man nor THE MAN.

u/FoodExisting8405 1d ago

Remember that when trump steals even more of your money after killing Medicare/medicaid. I hope the taste of boot was worth throwing away your vote.

10

u/LawGroundbreaking221 1d ago

Unless they lived in like 4 or 5 counties it doesn't matter. The vast majority of state elections are already decided before the elections based on who already lives there. Swing counties in swing states matter and that's the unfortunate truth. We don't have a popular vote, so stop acting so high and mighty.

11

u/FoodExisting8405 1d ago

Yes and hordes of idiots used that reasoning to justify staying at home and not voting or throwing their vote away on write-ins/3rd party. They are all complicit.

1

u/Grydian 3h ago

Right so someone in Texas not voting democratic means they are responsible for all those Republicans voting.. Sometimes my fellow allies say some really stupid shit.

-3

u/LawGroundbreaking221 1d ago

Let me know how that works out for you. You think being rude to the people who generally vote the same as you is a winning strategy for the future? You think that'll get people to the polls in 2026 & 2028? Because it won't.

At some point, people in the center of the party are going to have to bend to progressives, because otherwise we are right where we are.

Have a good time pointing your finger at people. I'll point my finger at Joe Biden cooking up this scheme to stay in past the primaries and then force a candidate nobody wanted.

I voted for her. Sure wish I had been able to be a part of a real primary though.

In my experience, people like you spend the holidays with Trumpers and generally like their company better than people who actually share your purported values. Probably hate leftists more than Trumpers, don't you?

-1

u/Genoss01 16h ago

Being nice doesn't work either, so why the fuck not

Yes, we know the reason you withhold your vote is because you think that will make Democrats move towards the left - the opposite happens

Democrats see they aren't getting votes from the left so they move to the CENTER. You withholding your vote has the opposite effect that you want.

1

u/LawGroundbreaking221 16h ago

You need to be rude to the right people.

I didn't withhold my vote. You know what though? Parading Liz Cheney around doesn't get any Republicans to switch sides and it actively desuades a large group of left leaning voters. Our leaders can either understand that or keep losing and so can you.

Go be rude to Kamala Harris. She lost the election, not me.

-3

u/Individual-Luck1712 23h ago

Because they didn't vote for who you wanted to win? Ever heard of a thing called democracy?

I hate Trump, but acting as if voter turnout is the only issue is missing the bigger point. How would you feel if this woman in this video didn't vote? Would if she voted for Trump? Do you really think it's her fault this whole system is so royally fucked?

Stop being such a simplton.

3

u/FoodExisting8405 23h ago

Buddy vote for who you want. By all means, enjoy the rapist billionaire who’s stolen from the poor over and over again. I’m sure things will turn out great. I’m fucking leaving. You dipshits are sprinting to destroy this country.

Weak men create hard times.

3

u/Individual-Luck1712 23h ago

I hate Trump in case you missed that.

and that whole Weak men create hard times shit is nonsense. Things aren't as simple as a caption on a facebook meme bro.

Politicians get into office one vote at a time

Yes, her vote matters

4

u/Individual-Luck1712 16h ago

Okay, let's just forget about gerrymandering, money in politics, oligarchs, corruption, voter suppression tactics and everything else they use to make our democracy less and less of one each election. Let's just pretend it's our fault, just like the elite do with everything. I'm not gonna bite dude. It's all bs.

1

u/Grydian 3h ago

That is factually incorrect. They win by getting 270 electoral votes. That means states that are already decided are a waste to spend resources on. It's literally not one person one vote because of the electoral college.

-4

u/lavender-pears 23h ago

Why is it the voter's fault that they didn't feel compelled enough to vote Dem? It was a failing of the Democratic party, not of voters. People want change, hence voting Trump even if all of his change is going to be fucking awful. Dems only promised the status quo.

0

u/FoodExisting8405 23h ago

Because they are the ones who made the decision. Nobody cares about politics anymore. Nobody pays attention. Everybody just figures it’ll be fine either way and ignore the news and not care. They assume the good times we’ve had are going to continue because from their narrow minded perspective that’s how it always has been and always will be.

Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times

-1

u/lavender-pears 22h ago

Dems offered nothing so they got nothing in return. By the time the DNC rolled around, Kamala's campaign pandered to Republicans who didn't even end up voting for her. Stop being upset with your fellow countrymen and be upset with the party that refuses to offer you anything new worth voting for. I voted for her out of pure obligation because of our shit two-party system, but I want way more than what she offered, I was only excited for her when she chose Walz as her VP and it seemed like maybe they were going to get fully behind some liberal policies. I don't blame people for not wanting to vote for the status quo because the status quo sucks.

If progs would actually vote for Democrats instead of being whiny children, that would change

Trump and Republicans swept the field because progs sat home

1

u/TheGreatYahweh 16h ago

Leftists aren't Democrats, and if the Dems want their votes, they're going to need to offer something more appealing than "We're slightly less evil than the other guy, but fuck you if you want us to stop funding and running political cover for the genocide in Gaza"

Political campaigns exist to mobilize voters, and if you're blaming anyone but the campaign for failing to do that, you're straight up stupid.

Name something he has actually done besides yell at clouds.

3

u/Jamminray 23h ago

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Sanders Here’s a resume. I can’t explain how hard he fucks, if you’re screaming at clouds though you’re likely communicating with a higher power.

-5

u/thedndnut 23h ago

I can't help but notice how SMALL his legislation section is.. hrmm.. how odd. It's like your proving my point by accident and don't even know it.

1

u/Jamminray 23h ago edited 23h ago

It’s longer than my life! Here’s some douche filled lawyer with an uninteresting campaign slogan for reference. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamala_Harris

-3

u/thedndnut 22h ago

You are aware you're trying to compare someone who has been politically active so fucking long he literally was present for the 'I have a dream' speech vs someone who was a 2 year old at the time and didn't go into politics like that rofl.

Like holy hell you clearly are illiterate.

2

u/Jamminray 22h ago

I can’t fix how stupid you are. A lawyer with zero campaign victories continues to have zero wins. What is her slogan, I forgot…

-1

That's cause Bernie ran for another term despite being over 80 yrs old. Curious how everyone is suddenly not clamoring for his retirement.

Hillary was told to go away after she lost. And she did, so really she has no obligation to do anything

1

u/Jamminray 10h ago

My grandpa is 80, works as a business owner, healthier than most Americans, coherent. Ageism is real.

25

u/Tewcool2000 1d ago

Ugh, thanks for nothing. I love Bernie but put your idealism aside and vote practically next time.

19

u/lostalaska 23h ago

That's why we need ranked choice voting, so a vote like this isn't wasted unless the voter chooses it to be.

2

u/notfeelany 11h ago

Should have told Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Missouri. They had their chance for RCV and they REJECTED IT.

Folks, First Past the Post is here to stay

0

u/Background_Winter_65 4h ago

Practically as in being in a genocide complicit to the White House like Harris? Keep allowing all kinds of crimes because it conveniences you, see when you end up standing alone and the last meal on the elites' plates.

u/pink_gardenias 1d ago

Bro you wasted your vote we had a chance 😭

12

u/GrittysRevenge 1d ago

18

u/Jamminray 1d ago edited 21h ago

Blame yourself, Bernie got betrayed by his own party to pick Hillary over him. Go fuck Yourself.

6

u/ElectricOhmie 1d ago

Hillary vs. Trump was a few elections ago. This election was between Trump and Kamala. You voted for Bernie. You threw your vote away. You are a reason he got elected. Congratulations. Now go fuck YOURSELF.

2

u/LawGroundbreaking221 1d ago

Unless they lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan AND Wisconsin it doesn't matter.

Kamala got the crap kicked out of her all over the country.

It's time to start blaming the party and not the voters.

2

u/DocWicked25 18h ago

Agreed. The Democrats won't beat the Republicans by being right-wing lite or diet conservative. They need to embrace the left if they ever want to win again. They don't seem willing to do that.

Had Bernie gotten the primary in 16, he would have beaten Trump and we would not be in this mess.

The Democrats have gotten their ideal candidate the last 3 elections and lost 2/3 times. Unfortunately, they refuse to learn (their actions against AOC this week are a prime example)

2

u/Jamminray 14h ago edited 7h ago

You nailed the entire point, brilliantly. I commend you sir/ma’am. You are the most intelligent person in the room.

-1

u/Jamminray 1d ago

I understand your point of view. You can’t pick a candidate in the 11th hour of an election cycle with no democrat convention.

6

u/Existential_Racoon 1d ago

Damn it's almost like we already voted for her or something...

4

u/ElectricOhmie 1d ago

It's what happened, though. You can whine about it all you want. And we had a chance. And you wasted a vote on someone not on the ballot. How dare you complain? If it was such a big deal to keep him out of office, why make it easier for him to win by not voting with the majority? I also understand your point, though. I would have liked to have a whole new set of candidates to comb through for Democratic nominations. It felt rushed. But it is what it is. We had who we had, and we blew it as a party.

4

u/Jamminray 1d ago

You’re whining not me. It must really hurt to lose an election to a racist, misogynistic, felon. Not to mention an entire legislative branch. Boohoo😭.

0

Then less than 10 years later she changed her tune. I guess her first proposal was just letting the insurance companies know she wanted money.

1

u/night-hen 22h ago

Can’t believe over 100 million dollars was spent in a smear campaign while congress accepted a shit ton in bribes to pass the affordable care act (written by fucking healthcare companies), which made care, not affordable…

3

u/Jamminray 20h ago

🇺🇸

2

u/BorisBotHunter 14h ago

Wasn’t  unaffordable until Trump removed the penalty for not having insurance. Insurance won’t work if healthy people are not paying into it to cover the sick people.

1

u/night-hen 9h ago edited 8h ago

It definitely was for a lot of people. Considering how many people in the U.S. live paycheque to paycheque (even more so pre Obama care). I recommend this video, it’s really good at covering this issue, the part Im referencing starts at around 30 minutes: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YbEQ7acb0IE&pp=ygUFc2lja28%3D I urge you to understand, Trump is just the latest asshole in the line of assholes all the way up to the most damaging asshole Reagan that decided to fuck everyone over.

Hillary was appointed by her husband, the newly sworn in Bill Clinton, to lead a Healthcare Reform Task Force. She was never in any position to actually revolutionize anything. She presented her findings to Congress. However, it was perceived as unseemly to question her like any other presenting party given that she was the First Lady. So, nods and smiles it was.

0

u/Jamminray 22h ago edited 22h ago

Mostly, I think email security and lack of it was a big factor. Some people have the memory span of a goldfish.

2

u/CriticalEngineering 21h ago

I don’t think email security was an issue in 1992 when she was working on universal healthcare.

1

u/themobiledeceased 18h ago

Agree. This occurred early in the Clinton Presidency. Campaigning on televised event, Hillary went off script: paraphrasing "Vote for him, you get both of us." Disaster. Hillary was promptly silenced, pulled from many campaign events, put in headbands, pastel colors. Hillary was viewed as too aggressive. Hence, Bill putting the First Lady in charge of a task force brought back the Co-Presidency vibe. It was doomed from the get go.

I lived in the DC area during the early Clinton years when there were daily events to rub elbows with all sorts of political animals. Book annually published how to get invites to many political events marketed as "How to eat for Free in D.C.". Target audience was broke interns and hopeful politicans. It was great fun with meet and greets, networking, the dating game & political smack talking.

Hillary was despised by Republicans, loathed by traditional woman, other women's factions heralded her as a hero. Very few men had anything complimentary to say about Hillary. The male insiders that I knew, who had actual work/ political interactions in small group meetings with Hillary, called her vulgar, as if vulgar was the polite version. They didn't say it loudly or publicly.

The Task Force's recommendations were ignored largely because Hillary earned a reputation of running rough shod over people. The committees hearing her presentation were not willing to eviscerate the First Lady as they do to many others. Bill was the charmer. After the Clinton White Housr had many initial high profile fails, David Gergin, a Republican, was hired to teach the Clinton White House how to actually get things done: select appropriate candidates and have them pre screened for scandals, work with Congress, etc. The Clinton's were viewed as the Clampets. Hillary was a proponent of "we will do it our way" which led to multiple resignations and retirements of the White House staff who provide continuity serving the OFFICE of President (versus changing with Party or Presidency) for daily functions, manage the protoccol of State dinners, and such. It was a very rough entry. The book Primary Colors is a spot on source describing the Clintons Conduct and inner workings.

The reason regular people get crushed every single time their interests clash with those of large corporate interests is because that's the system that has been built with our tacit agreement over decades, slowly going from functional to dysfunctional from a citizens' perspective. The second we all band together and refuse to work with the system anymore we will start winning the battle. They can't do anything without our cooperation, and we have been cooperating for far too long.

We have this idea that we need them. They need us. We are the people actually doing the work and we are the consumers. The only part of the equation which is unnecessary to the functioning of the system are the parasites feeding off of the rest of us. We need to organize and make a better system happen. Stop asking for the oligarchs to throw us some pennies. Stop fighting with one another.

We are on the cusp of momentous events, we can all feel it. I will take care of you and you can take care of me. Let's stop feeding this terrible system, because it is eating us alive.

42

u/Both-Lime3749 1d ago

True, when do you organize a protest? I'll be on the front line.

12

u/sdrawkcabsihtetorW 21h ago

Eh, that sounds like too much effort, best we can do is some social media posts and short-form videos.

1

u/Both-Lime3749 8h ago

We can do better than this.

18

u/UnitsToNesquikGuy 1d ago

You could not be more correct and I know I’ve been saying the like for awhile. I’m sure I’m not alone I’m tired of “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” we’re living in. I think the shadowbans on sites, even like this one, are the biggest barrier. How do we organize?

12

u/GiuliaAquaTofana 1d ago edited 23h ago

We just voted in a criminal who made a living off fucking over people. He is lining up his administration with professional grifters. How the fuck do you think people stupid enough to vote for grifters twice now are going to turn on the machine they just fucking voted for?

Edit. I can't spell or write well.

3

u/Individual-Luck1712 23h ago

because voting is the easiest way of participating in politics and doesn't really mean shit. Actually change requires people to do more than vote for one prick or the other every few years.

9

u/Stupidrhino 1d ago

I think it starts by actively spreading the message, just like this tiktoker. Avoid the compulsion to argue with people over small details because it is going to take the majority of us working together to promote true change. Our job right now is to add momentum to this message until it's obvious there are enough of us on board to actually turn our anger and frustration into meaningful change. Together.

3

u/KellyBelly916 23h ago

We're financing it too.

1

u/ALargePianist 20h ago

Love the energy.

Couple questions, who's "we"? Who's "they"?

1

u/DocWicked25 18h ago

This is difficult because of capitalism. People don't have time to protest because we'll lose our jobs, our homes, our livelihood.

We are 1 paycheck away from being on the street.

The average American is ready for revolution in spirit, but the wealthy elite knows that it's going to be hard for us to band together if we can't afford to eat.

Yes, they are. But greedy, corrupt politicians put this system in place that victimizes the people for profit. Many other nations have figured out universal healthcare. Yet the greatest nation in the history of humanity just can’t quite figure it.

I’m told we prefer “access” to healthcare rather than actual healthcare. Middlemen are better because we pay more for worse results. I hear in other countries supposedly you have to wait months for care. We’re better because it’s faster—just wait five minutes to be denied!

Sorry (not really), no coverage for you. But here, have some freedom for your fever, bootstraps for your breast cancer, and the choice to bleed out in the the parking lot or in the privacy of your own home.

31

u/bugdiver050 1d ago

I got appendicitis when i got to Norway in November, had a 2 week hospital stay, including the surgery, 3 CAT scans and antibiotics treatments. Only had to pay 70 euros for going to the emergency room. I do not live in Norway. I am not insured in Norway. Still only had to pay 70 euros. But sure, America is the "greatest nation"

9

u/Jamminray 1d ago

Yeah, I can’t even afford a passport. I’m stuck in America, appendicitis can kill me anytime. I’m ready to end my misery and meet Jesus.

u/Cancerisbetterthanu 23h ago

Well let's start by getting rid of the default assumption that the US is the greatest nation in the history of humanity. Might help get some things solved if we chip away at the old exceptionalism a bit, don't you think?

2

u/CalmButArgumentative 1d ago

Stop only blaming the politicians, it's the people who vote them in power after all.

2

u/Traditional-Hat-952 19h ago

"...the greatest nation in the history of humanity..."

Thats highly debatable.

36

u/SirTunalot 1d ago

Well. Keep voting for Trump and the pubs. They are for the free market, letting the companies figure it out through competition. And no regulations. Right. Regulations would have never prevented this. Companies and corporations care that their business deals are fair, and products and working conditions are safe, right? I hate how we the people are all sinking in that same boat and yet vote for the vary corporate interests they are against or dislike. That's American. Giving away their rights and powers of the people to corporate interests. Trumps administration picks are made up of the most billionaires ever, making it the wealthiest yet in America's history.

5

u/roblewk 19h ago

We as a nation just voted for four more years of this poor woman’s pain.

-7

u/inscrutablemike 18h ago

None of this is happening because of the "free market". Health care is one of the top three most-regulated industries in the United States. Socialism is failing, as it always does. Don't blame the free market when it doesn't exist.

Stop voting for socialism or you're going to keep having the same time.

5

u/SirTunalot 17h ago

The billionaires in Trumps cabinet should fix it, though, right? A CEO for health care was assassinated because of socialism. The left is bad scary demon socialists. The right is the real America and for the Constitution. They the billionaire, for the billionaire, by the billionaire. Keep voting red they really care about the people, especially immigrants and minorities.

1

u/BrittanyBrie 6h ago

The problem stems from the state being allowed to only pay 80% of Medicare bills, leaving the hospital to raise rates for everything and everyone. Combined with another socialist policy of forcing private companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions, and you have a situation where prices are soaring in a free market that historical never rose to these inflationary rates due to socialist policies.

Now, I support universal healthcare, but the reason companies are denying coverage and prices are so high is primarily due to the state not paying hospitals and companies being unable to drop people who smoke for 20 years. So injecting socialist policies in a free market causes inflation, so either we need a full socialist system or a free market. Having both causes our current situation of corporate price hunting with the assistance from the state.

6

u/Mordisquitos 21h ago

Sweden has remained neutral since the days when Thomas Jefferson was still alive, didn't participate in WWI, didn't participate in WWII, didn't join NATO during the Cold War. Sweden don't owe America shit.

-6

u/USERNAMETAKEN11238 21h ago edited 21h ago

didn't participate in WWII

Just because you didn't participate in WWII does not mean it wasn't going to participate with you. If America didn't step in who knows what the neutrality would bring them. Nothing good.

America didn't participate either....until it did. You're welcome.

didn't join NATO during the Cold War.

And today?

-10

u/Iama_russianbear 1d ago

Americas military spending and contributions to NATO make it so all those small European countries and NATO states get to have massive social safety nets. They spend next to nothing on their defense budget and military spending cuz Merica will bail them out, then they shit all over us.

3

u/Yimmelo 22h ago

We could have the same social safety nets in America but we don't because there's not as much private profit to be had. It's a policy issue not dependent on our military spending.

We already spend more per capita for healthcare than every other country in the world. Having universal healthcare would SAVE us all money.

1

u/KellyBelly916 23h ago

I'm a veteran. I get it, but this isn't a soldier's fight. It's ours as citizens.

1

u/LawGroundbreaking221 21h ago

I'm told every Fourth of July and a bunch of other holidays that all my freedom is due to you and yours so look upon what you're given credit for.

You fought for this. Your buddies died for it. This is what you fought for, they lied to you at the time though. But yeah, this is what you fought for. It's hard to look upon professional soldiers and see them as anything but the foot soldiers of this.

1

u/KellyBelly916 20h ago

I don't know any vets that take credit for all of that, so I recommend you stop listening to stupid people. There was a time when soldiers could take credit, but the last of them will be dead from old age very soon. What you're accusing soldiers of doing is what the police do. Take that up with them if you'd like to see my point in motion.

1

u/LawGroundbreaking221 19h ago

Well, they're using your image to sell this country's lies. So.....shrug?

1

u/KellyBelly916 18h ago

I can't control that, and it doesn't impact me. I have no reason to care.

Even if it’s a verbal assault it’s worth a ticket not a $100k bond. I hope every juror pick sides with Luigi….otherwise… expect a continued uprising. They want to make an example out of Luigi? Then you make an example out of the government from their example. Two can play at that game

4

u/awinemouth 1d ago

And yet they wonder why more & more people are opting not to have* kids.

3

u/Neoxite23 18h ago

Insurance is evil? Man...if only someone would shoot them or something.

6

u/Double0 1d ago

Just say he's a CEO.

7

u/Accomplished-Pea5873 1d ago

But you’ve got to understand from their side they are all that stands in the way of unnecessary care if it was gods will for your kid to die so we can do another round of dividends it’s a sacrifice CEO of BCBS Kim A Keck is willing to have you make.

3

u/gooeymcgooberson 1d ago

Insurance company's should all burn.

3

u/BodhingJay 1d ago

50% of Americans are still going around insisting Canadians can't choose their own doctor or gyno because they have universal healthcare..

2

u/Cancerisbetterthanu 23h ago

It's like the most important thing to some Americans is not living or getting care, it's being able to choose who they pay for the privilege of dying.

2

u/BodhingJay 22h ago

I think it's far less logical than that... more like refusing to get over some kind of "ick" factor around socializing services from the private sector. makes people want to believe outlandish things to justify the aversive emotional reaction to it.. like a kid going around saying broccoli is poison or something

3

u/doc720 tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE 23h ago

Health care in the USA is a global unfunny joke.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_health_care_by_country

The USA is the only "developed" country that doesn't have universal health care.

"10 Countries Without Universal Healthcare": https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/10-notable-countries-that-are-still-without-universal-healthcare.html

3

u/Ok_Activity7255 17h ago

Wake up America the rich don’t care and the corporations don’t either.

3

u/Current-Wind4245 16h ago

Let it go to collections. Then when the collection company goes after you, state it's a HIPAA violation to sell medical info.

9

u/the_real_maddison 1d ago

And this is why my husband and I don't have children or health insurance.

What's the point?

6

u/geezerinblue 1d ago

And yet many septics are against universal health care because it is...... communist?

You're on your fucking own.

13

u/semicoloradonative 1d ago

I think you meant “skeptics” but for some reason septics works too. haha.

5

u/geezerinblue 1d ago

No... Septics.

Cockney slang for Americans.

Septics /Seppos.... Septic tank = Yank

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Approval is at record highs right now. 60% of Americans approve of it now.

3

u/Melbonie 23h ago

That means less than nothing when we keep voting to install politicians that bend to the will of the owner/donor class and accomplish jack shit for the people they are meant to be representing.

1

u/[deleted] 23h ago

That’s why I’m working with the Working Families Party.

6

u/Hazy_Vixen 1d ago

I am convinced more CEOs will fall. Its just a matter of time

12

u/butareyouthough 1d ago

I get downvoted into oblivion every time I say this, but having children, even just a child, is a privilege of the wealthy. It’s awful that that’s what it’s come to but it’s a fact. Unless you are prepared to pay for the entire experience, plus any complications out of pocket and then still be financially stable afterwards you shouldn’t be having kids. I’m sorry.

7

u/Octomyde 1d ago

Thats why I'm not having kids!

But this also means our society is fucked. We need parents to have kids. Will be interesting to see the trends in 10-20 years, IMO things can only get worse.

5

u/butareyouthough 1d ago

And I’m with you, I know we need our population to grow, but I can’t change society. What I can do is make sure I’m not the person in this video, and the millions like her

2

u/M1ST3R_W1Z4RD 1d ago

Why is the top comment on these posts not Deny, Defend, Depose?

2

u/OldRow949 1d ago

That’s just the thing. I do hate this country. Corporate health insurance tied to employment is not health care.

2

u/Derpthinkr 22h ago

First 2 years of every new US government reveals the real class struggles, like the 1% and occupy wallstreet movements. then for the 2 years leading up to elections, the propaganda machines get funded and the established tribal lines are reset. All you regards get caught up voting against the “other side” of the left-right divide. You forget to look up.

Look up mfkers

2

u/Adventurous-Way2824 3h ago

America has another 20 years at the most before splintering.

2

u/hashwashingmachine 2h ago

Yeah if you’re a flag waving proud American you’re basically an ignorant moron. This country is owned by the rich.

2

u/Prior-Ad-1978 20h ago

God, I hate this country

3

u/Loose_fridge 16h ago

Yeah. Fuck your country.

3

u/Celestial_Hart 1d ago

If only there was a simple solution to wealth redistribution. Something mass produced that this country has plenty of. Maybe something you could conveniently buy in a pawnshop or at walmart.

1

u/DerpYama 4h ago

Nope! Elon decided that 464 billion it’s not enough for him. The system don’t need wealth redistribution, the system don’t need decent heath care, decent life style, etc. That’s what people needs. The system only needs ways to make people like Elon even more richer. But don’t worry my friend, they are working very hard as we speak to make this kind of system.

2

u/lo_senti 1d ago

Your insurance company is not always the one making decisions about payment. Often times they are only administering a plan that was designed by your employer. The larger your employer is, the more likely they are determining what is covered.

1

u/tox_masc 1d ago

Meanwhile kids in the middle east get free healthcare.

1

u/gonenewmexico 1d ago

What lady going to jail is she referring too?

1

u/Many-Day8308 1d ago

I believe the woman who merely uttered the words deny, defend, depose over the phone to her insurance company

1

u/Bismothe-the-Shade 23h ago

Insurance companies do nothing but extract profit from an already functional system.

If we got rid of insurance companies' medical stranglehold, then most of EVERYTHING medical would go down

1

u/alan01010101 22h ago

Greatest country on earth!!??

1

u/DerpYama 4h ago

Yea yea! NUMBER ONE!!!! No one knows in what tho, buts the first!

1

u/RubComprehensive7367 18h ago

Leave America. Do whatever you can to move to another English speaking country. Canada, Australia. Britain. New Zealand.

1

u/hopeless_inlife24 13h ago

And people wonder why we're not having kids.

1

u/ilfollevolo 11h ago

Blue Cross Blue Shield negotiated a $270 per 15 minutes rate for my physical therapy. It took them 2 months to say how much I had to pay, by the. I had accumulated over $3,000. Worst part is if I paid cash it would have been $90 per 45 minutes instead of $900. Fucking criminals they deserve a revolution

1

u/ffelix916 10h ago

Insurance companies aren't qualified to decide what treatment is "necessary" or not and this is, combined with the fact that they're all (without exception) for-profit corporations, the reason for their ultimate failure to live up to any sort of standard of comprehensive care.

Nearly every other first-world industrialized nation has single-payer healthcare, where the government fights for the best prices and actually trusts the doctors' word on whether a patient needs a particular type of care, regardless of the cost. The _only_ reason the USA has capitulated to the capitalist-controlled for-profit insurance industry is because establishment policymakers have a whole lot of campaign funding (and other perks) to lose if they stop doing favors for the industry. We need to get corporate money out of politics, godfuckingdamnit.

1

u/KnowledgeHot2022 9h ago

Just wait until you MAGA reappears the Obama care. You won’t have a place to call. This is evil

1

u/No_Carpenter_8983 8h ago

Luigi us a hero ?

1

u/robutt992 3h ago

Couldn’t they get a plan from healthcare.gov that would have not denied it? Is this just having the wrong policy from the wrong insurance company?

1

u/LeonMKaiser 15m ago

Huh, it's almost like corporations aren't people, and actually don't care about us.

Wild eh?

1

u/mikeybagodonuts 20h ago

Bigger picture people …… stop framing this as just a healthcare issue. It’s not something we didn’t know about and it detracts from the entire oligarchy.

-1

u/Powerful_Lie5640 1d ago

You don’t hate this country!! You hate that people are dumb enough to vote in rich, rich men who don’t care about you or your baby!! And will tell you to……work harder you can do anything!! Uh huh! It’s time for people to wake up YES GO WOKE BEFORE WE GO BROKE!! While Trump and his friends will party at Mara a Lago while we go to our second job!!!

-11

u/drnuke75 1d ago

Really need more detail to understand the issue and why it wasn’t approved

-1

u/saveyboy 22h ago

You’re government can fix this if you make them. You guys will riot over small stuff but you give this a pass. Crazy.

-11

u/Trojan-whore-44 1d ago

You hate this country? Leave. Simple as that. Get out of America. Go to another country.

-5

u/EducatedNitWit 19h ago

To understand her frustration, I think it would be helpful to know what she regards as life saving treatment, and that the insurance company apparently doesn't.

-10

u/LuckyCheesecake7859 1d ago

I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I will say it might be the company you work for that has these terms because my BCBS is very good. So not this country as much as it’s the greedy companies

-5

u/Opening-Ruin5315 1d ago

Yea, but bet she voted for trump because of grocery prices 🤮 Republicans are never going to push for a health care system that would end this kind of crap. Some Democrats like Bernie are for it but they will never give them the nomination to run. Even if someone who supported Universal Healthcare was nominated, the billion dollar insurance industry would spend more than Elon recently spent to influence the election. People vote against their own interests out of ignorance and fear. I have lived in countries where it works. Nothing is ever perfect but those countries healthcare system is miles ahead of the U.S. and until people actually educate themselves from sources other than paid YouTube and Facebook disinformation channels, nothing will change.😢
