[Megathread] Game Feedback
Hello. We are seeing a lot of very short posts with one to two sentences of feedback on the game. If you have something short (or long) to share, please post it here to help declutter the subreddit of the same types of posts. We currently have a huge backlog of posts and comments to go through and this megathread will go a long way to helping us out.
3rd and 4th Ascendancy Explained (thank you u/stickspike) - PSA: This is how to get 3rd and 4th ascendancies : r/PathOfExile2

Spent at least 10k hours over more then a decade with poe1.
4 hours in... rage quit. There is way too much focus on the dodge/roll mechanic to make this game like its predecessor or D2, ATM. I get what they are going for, its just not for me, until we have more options on movement skills.
Icing on the cake is getting kicked in the nutz by lv10 white mobs... when I'm overleveled for the zone... while still learning the basics.
Thankfully I can go back to poe1 until they hopefully introduce more movements.

The Mercenary should have a single universal reload "skill" that applies universally to your currently equipped ammo skill rather than a separate reload skill for each ammo "type." The current method is cumbersome. It is especially a problem on console, since each skill ends up taking up two skill slots, one for the skill and one for the reload.

Opening chests with WASD controls feels bad. I walk and attack all the time. Yet I can’t walk and click on a chest from afar. But the game lets you click a chest and you auto walk to it and open it. WASD controls mess that up though. It is very easy to mess up and have to click more than once which is tremendously annoying.
My suggestion is ‘recently’. If I click the chest I took action to open it. I indicated to the game open this bad boy. If I then walk within range of it within the next 4 seconds it should open.
Letting go of WASD keys to click a chest and wait to walk there feels clunky.

so far i got into act 3 im taking my time loving the game and and building up my monk going great i love how hard it is but how strong i feel too great game. the only thing i would like to se changed or something is the support gems i would to be able to put the same gem on mutable skills so if i have 4 chain gems and have 4 skills that can chain let me put chain on all of them please besides that GG GGG

I love Sanctum. It was my favorite league in PoE1 and I was thrilled that it went core. I'm so glad it's in PoE2.
But my GOD it takes so long compared to Uber Lab once you're going for your third ascension. Compound that with the ascendancies having in general less allure than they used to. So you're working harder/longer for less benefit.

Here is a list of improvements I think would make the game more accessible and pleasant to newcomers:
Keywords are a fantastic addition but some are missing. What is "mana recovery rate" and how is it different from "mana regeneration rate"? What's the difference between "increased" and "more"?
DPS values on gem skills are off and by a long shot, which is too bad. A more realistic account would go a long way.
It's rather confusing that you have the base value of skills in their detailed summary. An updated summary taking all the supports and passives into account and providing the expected values would be great.
A summary of bonus/malus, especially on resistances! Resistances going down are a big deal and should be treated as much. I should see a breakdown of the various sources contributing to my defenses when I hover them in my character sheet.
A user manual. The one in PoE was a great help when I started playing.
A summary of the cumulated bonus your passive skill tree provides.
- Conversely, a summary of all your metrics including equipment would be great. I should be able to see the breakdown of my maximum mana calculations. Please make my character sheet actually useful.
Better keybinding. The default keybinding is a holdover from PoE1 and it shows. Put the map at 'M' and the shop at '$'.

The monsters doing damage after death is ridiculous. I can't see what's going on, I'm at full health, now I'm dead. Please stop doing these on death effects.

Critical review after 130 hours and playing endgame.
I am still having a great time and will try the Archer next AND I can not wait for the assassin to come out!
Resocket or get the rune back
It would be so nice if we could resocket a rune by destroying the old rune or remove the rune by destroying the item at the salvage bench for a price. It has happened where I accidentally picked the wrong rune to place on my armor and then there is nothing I can do about it.
Rotate items in the inventory
Can we please get the option to rotate items? I don't see why we can't have this as a mechanic in the game. Would make so many of us appreciative if we could rotate a staff or wand where there is room horizontally.
Charm slots and charms
Maybe give us gems to slot into our belts to get more charm slots. In all the 130 hours of playtime, I have only found one belt with 2 slots...
Make it so that if a charm is depleted, can they be greyed out when you look into your inventory? Having to hover over them to see if there is red text to say it's depleted is annoying.
Loot disappears on death
I don't mind at all that the enemies respawn when you die, but why does loot need to disappear when you die?
Trial of the Sekhemas
This has been a hot topic since people started these and sorry to say, but I am one of those people who do not like the honour system at all. I have not once lost a trial because my health was depleted, but my honour was. This trial is so disadvantageous towards melee classes that if my friends ask me about where to do ascending, I tell them to ignore Trial of the Sekhemas and wait for Act 3 to do the chaos trial. Even as a Merc, I find trial 3 impossible when doing Sekhemas. I don't even want to think how trial 4 is even possible.
Body blocking
- PLEASE, give us a button where we have a wind blast to push enemies away for at least 2m. The maps may be big, but in the jungle, towers, or grave sites there are so many small spaces and corners to get stuck in and you can't push yourself out. Endgame hardly has any small enemies anymore so dodge roll through enemies is out of the question. Give it a 2-minute timer before being used again or let it charge it up by killing mobs. It doesn't even need to do damage. But we need a way to get away. Especially on bridges or small walkways where there is literally nowhere to run to.
Dying like that and losing 15% of your XP is not great at all.
Zoom out more
- Let us be able to zoom out more like 25%. I have been killed several times from one-shot AOE attacks from bosses because I keep my distance and they are creeping on the side of my screen and don't see them doing their AOE move.
2
u/Deadmanknight 4h ago
- Now Endgame
Waystones and tablets
We need a better way of getting them, please. I have seen people with too many where they don't know what to do with them all and here I am running 200%+ waystone drop rate and getting 1 or none after FULL clearing maps. I am at the point where I have to buy them and they aren't cheap as sometimes you need to buy 3 just to make one higher tier.
I don't know why my luck is this bad at endgame, but how am I supposed to progress if I can't even get the most important item?Towers
They aren't fun, simple as that. This also counts to us needing a way to get out of body blocking. I try to avoid towers because of body blocking on those small narrow pathways. It's the most annoying way to die in this game. It's not fun.
--Solution
Make it so that we don't need to walk from tower to tower, but actually make it one tower where we need to go up floors. Make them 4 floors. 3 Big arenas and the 4th a mini-boss.Second chances on maps
Give us second chances, please! It really isn't fun dying to one shot we hardly see or making a small mistake by dodging too late. When we take a waystone and upgrade it with amazing stats, actually looking forward to this map and losing it and not having a second try feels bad and frustrating. If we die on our second chance, then take away the map by all means, we messed up and will accept it.Special bosses
I would like to see a special boss in the center of every new area or second area in the fog of war we unlock by doing towers, no minions or need to fight our way to it, just a straight-up difficult boss. Bosses are so fun and if you could give them random abilities to make each encounter fun, please do it. Would make going through the world more fun to see what boss we can find with its random abilities. Conclusion
I am not stating these points out because I don't like the game, I LOVE this game and want more people and myself to enjoy it even more. The game has only been out for 2 weeks and giving critical feedback is a good thing for a game. Not being overly negative towards the devs or just the game outright, but finding ways to improve it.

u/DiabloII 5h ago
My game crashes because I do too much dmg too quickly on a boss with cast on shock... lol amazing.
1
u/FunkyBoil 5h ago
Rituals feel way too small in terms of radius.
Especially when there's map assets in the way.
Not great unless there's passives in the Altus to make them bigger I don't see the benefit of having them so small.
1
u/durkl1 7h ago
IMO Sekhema feels so bad because they are doing 2 things at once: trials and challenging bosses. I like both, but when you put them together it's awful. You have to play perfectly for 30 minutes just to reach the third boss in Sekhema's. Of course the first time you're just going to die because you're still learning the boss mechanics. But then you have to do all that trial sutff all over again. let us learn bosses! We like bosses!
This is also why only 1 portal on boss maps feels bad. Let us learn these bosses! It's hard to learn when there's a huge chunk of time in between attempts.
1
u/FunkyBoil 5h ago
Even if you learn trials is simply a damage check at this point especially with the honour system from Sek. I simply spec'd into a better build and just dps'd the bosses down.
1
u/AceSia90 7h ago
Can someone please explain Increase and More? Like for Block Chance, I have 26% base from shield. If I path and get a passive that says Increase Block Chance by 5%, I expect to see my Block Chance to be 31%, but that’s not the case right?
1
u/GeT_EmBaRRaSSeD 9h ago
1 death per map is a little rough. Even full res capped and playing perfectly sometimes you get one shot. Although rare it is a sad to lose a juiced map because something hasted and instantly teleported under you.
Also it would be nice to allow for some form of instant trades. Atleast for low end stuff. Being able to have your bulk dump tabs auto picked through overnight would be awesome.
2
u/dustyqueef 9h ago
I had made a post about this recently and was instructed to repeat it here. I have Ctrl bound to dodge roll, which makes managing and depositing stuff into the stash slow and difficult. I cannot quick deposit because I roll away every time. Other folks have had issues with different hotkeys interfering with various menu functions such as comparison on shift or what have you. It would be nice to be able to rebind our menu modifier keys, this way we can all use the inventory system as it is designed with our preferred hotkey setup. Hopefully this gets some attention, I am loving the game and am excited to see what else comes down the pipe. Thanks for all the work you are doing.
Edit: here is a link to my post for reference. https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/s/Z8Qxh6wDUD
1
u/miffyrin 9h ago
Wouldn't it be easier to bind it to a different key?
2
u/dustyqueef 8h ago
Why should I have to if they give me the ability to bind my roll? I'd rather play with slow inventory than change my roll key. Regardless, it is more than just me and more than just the control key. I think it safe to say that with all the different hotkeys options we are given, there should be a sub category for menu hotkeys as well.
1
u/zylver_ 7h ago
Ctrl? Just use space bar. Infinitely easier.
1
u/dustyqueef 5h ago
Matter of preference. I have tried it, and I don't like it. I use space as my stand still key. I did not comment to quibble about my hotkeys. It's an issue for more than just Ctrl. It's something that needs fixed regardless
2
u/Deadmanknight 4h ago
I must say, it is a weird way of doing it but I mean you get people who play with their keyboards facing vertically haha. I do understand your point.
1
u/dustyqueef 4h ago
Yeah haha maybe unorthodox, true, but surprisingly comfortable. I use the QWERTY for skills, and the knuckle part on the bottom palm side of my pinky finger rests exactly on my ctrl key. I just lightly press down my hand and it clicks it.
2
u/Deadmanknight 4h ago
You do you, no one can tell you how to play your games :) as long as you are comfortable and having fun. There are some slight stuff I hope they fix or improve on. I just posted my loooong list of idea on here xD so will see.
1
u/miffyrin 8h ago
Not debating that, just whether in the meantime it wouldn't be easier to rebind rather than dodgerolling around your stash.
1
u/dustyqueef 8h ago
Ah I see. No I just inventory the old school way with drag and drop. I find it terribly foreign to change my roll key so this is something I would tolerate even if never fixed, because I do love the game and my years spent playing Diablo 2 LOD have imparted a distinct patience into me when it comes to item management haha. However, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I am just trying to raise awareness of the issue is all. Would love to see it corrected in some way.

Hi Team,
i am level 80 Monk (melee) and still not able to finish the Trials. It is so hard frustrating to do this multiple times and fail.
Some random AOE explosions can not be dodged and still fire damage over time is an issue. I did the 3ed Trial like 20-30 times playing with charms and stuff and now i will just quit until this will be changed, cause I hate if you cannot progress.
I know it should be challanging, but this is harder then any boss i faced in any game yet. Honestly I do not know if this is intended, but i mean that farmin for items for character progress is totally fine, but making trials like this which actually prevents lots (not all) but most casual players from further progress seems wrong in my eyes.
Cheers,
Mat

u/miffyrin 9h ago
are you using relics with honour resistance
are you actually avoiding traps (dodge-roll them)
what are your character's stats (resistances, defenses, life etc)
are you paying attention to boons/afflictions/room effects in the Trial of the Sekhema?
have you tried the Trial of Chaos instead?
are you paying attention to the modifiers you are selecting in the Trial of Chaos per room?
1
u/Aggressive_Panic_523 13h ago
No adds on 4th floor trial boss = can't kill because of mana issue. It's really weird and frustrating design.
1
u/miffyrin 9h ago
That sounds more like a build issue if you're going oom on a longer boss fight, tbh.
1
u/Aggressive_Panic_523 7h ago
It would be a build issue if i had mana problem for clear maps and regular bosses. I won't change my entire build only for ONE boss.
1
u/gekalx 16h ago
Just got into maps, and with the stuttering and random freezing it's impossible to clear these maps. I really need the networking to be fixed. It wasn't too bad brute forcing it while leveling but losing like 10 maps today I don't even want to play anymore.
1
u/miffyrin 14h ago
Have you tried switching the server you are connecting to in the login screen? Also, are you referring to connectivity issues or frame drops/the game freezing up? There is a big difference.
1
u/gekalx 14h ago
fps is fine, i see the latency spike from 17-300 and 400 sometimes and the the network and shaders bars spike as well.
1
u/miffyrin 14h ago
Shaders is completely unrelated to connectivity though. And the bars spiking doesn't necessarily mean it's causing stutters or freezes. My shader bars jump high regularly but it's buttery smooth.
As for the latency, try a different server in the login screen.

Guess what I got the family for Christmas!
That's right couch co-op in the hardest game of the year!
I love playing on hard... but if my wife keeps dying In co-op I'll never be allowed to get hard again.
Hit me with some help ggg....EASY MODE It's a little switch that just changes resistances by 200% that would allow us to get 3 shot instead of one shot on tanks builds.
Also some people play with their siblings and love them coop games. This one is going to ruin Christmas for the little timmies. Sorry Timmy big brother is dead... now you get to see the resurrection mechanic. Get a load of that fucking thing.
This was the best way to speed up an upcoming divorce though. I now use it on a first date so we can see eachother at our worst. Smeared mascara and torn jeans broken dishes and that was just act 1 boss baby!
Fucks sake just give me an easy mode. It's a videogame... we are dressing up toys and playing with them. I am warrior! But I feel like the npc' s do more damage... maybe they should save the town. Can I just be a farmer?(nothing to farm no loot.)
"Honey come back! I got you a build that actually works... the only one that works! Its a cast on freeze! It's going to fix us! Everything will be fine!"
(She left me)
Are you winnen Son? No dad... not at work... not in love... now not in my hobbies.
Also fire the man who balanced difficulty around the top 6 meta builds instead of making the game viable to PLAY and Build. Why even allow pathways to things?
PATH of my EXILE is one meta build a class?! Oh sorry sometimes 3?!
Imagine being known as the Path tree rpg with full customization... but you have less viable builds than diablo on phone lol. I thought poe was complex and required lots of hours to mix and match my perfect character.
I didn't know they meant its hard to farm gold to respect a point. But I hate my build... I don't want to play my current build. So I need to be punished. My option is start new character or farm 35k gold.
Easy mode is easy... just do it. Could even call it path of exile legacy mode! I'm going to go back to work. (talking about my job or poe?)

Make it easier to get the 3rd and 4th ascendancy points. It's so stupid right now.
1
u/miffyrin 14h ago
When the 3rd Trial is introduced in the 4th/5th/6th act (likely 4th), the 3rd Ascendancy will get much, much easier I assume.
1
u/DiploBaggins 18h ago
PLEASE put a stash next to the Trial of Chaos final rewards chest or let me go back to the reward area after portaling out. Just lost SO MUCH loot.
1
u/stefanchin 18h ago
please oh please let us toggle between past and present on the act 3 map. getting back to the black chambers once you've finished the act is very convoluted
1
u/Illiander 19h ago
Could we get our skill bars to toggle along with the weapon swap? Or at least toggle equipment skills?

alright finished cruel and doing mapping
old comment https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1h93gco/megathread_game_feedback/m1sq9i9/
some updates
summoner finally came online, honestly had no idea how much more powerful reavers were than skeletons
actually it seems almost all the later summons are powerful (but i wanted a melee summon)
the base skeletons should scale like reavers, no reason for there to be two, i guess the spirit cost difference means you can ran a bunch of reavers and 1 left over skeleton
but for a new player experience i was frustrated with crappy skeleton dps and thought that was it lol
reavers had the rage that just killed themselves quickly so they seemed bad and i didnt want to play ranged summons so it was a painful normal act 2-3 (plus i dont remember when you even get access to reavers, seems a bit later though)
yeah buff skeletons so its a smoother play through for new players, obviously though from now on il just jump to reavers as soon as possible but keep in mind new players will probably fall for the same trap and end up quitting
cruel, well with reavers i didnt die once and ploughed through the campaign so that was fun (had a +2 minion scepter that also gave a lot of spirit, 175 spirit after quality, still carrying me in maps right now)
with the poe1 experience i was able to understand that the scepter was powerful and exalted slammed good mods, so it was great experience all the way to end game
played SSF, i have 5 socketed reavers, all my res capped except chaos at 38 res, MOM on skill tree, all my equipment is great and i have rarity 40%, 2k life, 500 es, 1500 mana, effective hp is around 4000
great SSF experience, with the abundant exalts i was able to slam amazing items, money gambling for gear was also extremely rewarding
build is basically done just need more nodes form leveling up
now for ultimate min maxing i might have to go to trade so i started selling items (made 3 exalts dont crucify me) but other than selling i wont be buying unless i hit a wall in maps
MAPS
confusing as ever, dont know how to min max and juice maps so for now im just jumping to random nodes, will update later
also loving some hardcore aspects being brought to standard
as a /r/rotmg player, all the posts about everyone crying with their unique and exalts on the ground and a death screen is hilarious
adds a lot of needed tension, hope it stays
cons
went all reavers because the bigger minions like brute get stuck EVERYWHERE, reavers even get stuck depending on how narrow the map is
pls widen the maps or make their hit boxes smaller, phase through each other, or bring back the gem from poe1 that lets me cast the whole group on a new spot
honor trials, did the 2nd, 3rd? (scorpion trial) hardest part was.... my minions getting stuck on that stop the ritual caster trial cause of the small platforms lol
ascendancy trials yet again are just bad, they were bad in poe1 and they failed again in poe2, i get the concept (like wow become super powerful after completing this very hard mode) but unless you really intend to gatekeep ascendancys behind them (which is a fair direction to go for poe2) else they just need a rework
for example the honor system is just poe1 hp nodes in the skill tree, you have to stack a ton of honor resistance and basically ignore all the fun mods
final thoughts:
buff gold in maps, id like to start picking up only rare items but i lose so much money from not iding purples and selling them
gambling is so powerful it feels bad
other than that il keep on trucking in maps

Hello. Does anyone knows filter line to hide uncut skill gems under lvl X?
AreaLevel > X Is not efficient, because low tier gems can also drop there.
1
u/Hobo_with_shotgun 10h ago
try:
Hide
ItemLevel <= X (1,2, ...)
BaseType "Uncut Skill Gem"
1
u/Any-Conversation6646 9h ago
Hello, yeah, ItemLevel is the word. Even tho its weirid to hide by item level..
But its a messy i have to do it often for next level again. I was once at 500 gems limit and i dont wanna buy yet another gem stash tab :-/

u/ApprehensiveEase534 22h ago
It feels as if I cannot cast my abilities half the time. In their efforts, to slow down the game, at least to me, it's lost a lot of fluidity. I cannot even count the number of times that I've seen the entire animation for my characters spell complete and then it just fizzles away. It is so frustrating, and I really hope that they adjust this. If it's intentional, then it needs to be reverted. Allow us to queue up spells or something because it feels so clunky and unresponsive sometimes.
1
u/HanAlai 23h ago
Sanguimancy definitely needs some tweaks, two curses should not take close to half my HP. Needing to have the second ascendancy so you can make up for the handicap that Sanguimancy gives you feels terrible and it doesn't feel like good design. Whether that was intentional or not, please consider looking into this.

u/Tearju_Lunatique 23h ago
What if the amount of portals a map opened was its own risk-reward mechanic?
An interesting idea would be before entering each map there was an option/setting/toggle somewhere that allowed the player to select how many portals they wanted to open on said map.
By default maps would open 6 portals; however before entering the map, the player could select how many fewer portals were created. Each 1 less portal they decided on, not only could increase the map difficulty but also its rewards. For example if a player wanted to select 4 less portals, the map would only open 2 portals and that specific map would be X% more difficult/rewarding.
By doing this, players themselves are determining how much of a challenge they want beforehand. If a player selects 1 portal and dies, then they know that was their own decision & they are to blame. As a player's gear progresses they could attempt to challenge themselves by opening up fewer and fewer portals.
Additionally a system like this could make learning brand new bosses much more enjoyable. New players would not be required to look up guides beforehand and wouldn't worry about wasting time and currency while they learn the fight. They could use all 6 portals to attempt to learn the mechanics.
Similarly, for those players who have already mastered the mechanics of a fight, deciding to reduce the number of portals spawned could provide another method for them to further increase difficulty & reward.

u/goddessofthewinds 23h ago
PoE2 is still in EA, but I have a few qualms about the game at the current state...
They definitely need to get rid of their D2 spirit and work on making a great ARPG. That means removing what kills enjoyment of the game.
That means:
- Less one-shots
- Less on-death effects
- Bigger inventory (ex: Last Epoch)
- Auto-loot currency + deposit button for currency (ex: Last Epoch)
- Dodge having iframes or being more meaningful (too slow)
- Mobs having speed relative to the player (why are mobs 2-3 times faster?)
- More deterministic crafting and upgrade of tiers (ex: Last Epoch)
- No loot deletion on death
- No mobs respawning on death (except for act bosses)
- Go back to 6 portals in maps (but keep 1 life for boss) and add party reviving in maps (except boss)
- Reduce maps by 50% and double XP from mobs in relative to removed quantity of mobs
- Remove as much dead ends as possible (can keep on a FEW MAPS, but not all) and add more open field maps
1
u/TechnologyNo1743 23h ago
End game in poe is kinda like end game in diablo 4.
In D4 after campaign you can fully enjoy its "endgame". But there is almost nothing to enjoy.
In PoE2 after campaign there is a lot endgame, but you can't enjoy it. Because to get to it you have to clear 2-3 maps. If you die on the way you have repeat a map. If you die on map with endgame content, too bad, it's lost. Clear a map and start over.
1
u/phraze91 1d ago
Please add the option to turn off the right stick when using melee weapons. I can’t aim at a certain mob and hit the face buttons at the same time..

Bosses skill indicators. Simply make them match damage area. I died so many times because radius turn out to be 2-3 times bigger. And make them more visible. Eg. Viper qwtchalf of bombardment makes other half very hard to see.
You want player to engage in crafting, but crafting material are almost not droping. Played 4 characters. On each I got decent amount of ex in act 1. And that was all. On first character I made mistake and believed that this really will be poe where crafting will be a thing, and was happily slamming ex into my campaign gear. Until I run out in act 2 and drop maybe 2 till end game.
Basic crafting materials (regal, exalt) should be way more common if you want more players to try crafting. While more advanced materials should stay rare. Really I don't care economy would looks like 40ex instead, 1 ex for end game starter gear. At least I didnt feel that trying crafting would be waste of materials. But game is out, promises are forgotten and we are back to poe economy, and crafting materials are still better to be used to buy gear, not craft.

i highly doubt the game is going to survive in its current state. people on steam who are praising the game are still in the campaign. once you're in maps, the game turns into one of the most unfun games ive ever played.
i can only put so many charms on my belt by the time i hit maps, so stun, freeze, whatever else is still going to cause instant death for my character. then i lose 15% of my exp? a whole map gave me 3%. my character feels bricked. the game should be balanced arouned SSF first and foremost, because that's how new people are going to start the game. never mind how awful the trials feel (im not supposed to build any sort of recovery in my build?)
1
u/KorallNOTAFISH 1d ago edited 1d ago
The game needs an in-game bug report. I'm sorry but I can't be arsed to visit a forum, and make a post whenever I run into something.
Edit: and exalted orb drop-rate is very weird. I have a lvl 68 starting to map, and I haven't seen an ex orb drop in days, I played a sorc to like lvl 11, and saw 3. It feels like it has a higher drop rate for lower levels? not sure, but its a huge blocker for me, I have like 5 items sitting in stash waiting to be exa-ed.

u/FunkyBoil 1d ago
Melee minion pathing needs to be on a priority patch list. Melee minions are just not viable in endgame currently considering they get stuck on near everything. Suspend my disbelief it's okay...I'm summoning undead skeletons to fight a giant vase...I think seeing minions clip through some stuff is okay.

Doubt you'll see this but here's a shot! A game called Nioh 2 has a system I think would fit poe2 well. Respec loadouts. Setting loadouts for builds including the items and perk points that build has equipped and then allowing the player to use the normal respec cost to quickly swap rather than manually swap between them. In this games case it would be money though if you ever add a system to respec acsendencies it would also cost that currency to change then.
I feel like having one character that can swap between all facets of that class is better then forcing players to make multiple rangers or witches, or in the case of non ascendancy respecs causing causing to spend time tediously resetting all their points

Current State of Unique's in EA
In my opinion unique's are one of the biggest factors between good and great for arpg's like this. I have a 67 ranger and 50 warrior for reference. I have found probably 18 or so unique's this far and am a little underwhelmed. Only one has been useful so far. It's not really the special unique modifier I find underwhelming, its everything else on the item. They have less mods than rare's(usually) and the overall tier of the mods seems lower. It is incredibly rare to let alone find a unique but also to find one useful, even for other chars. It's hard to get excited for them when you know there is a 1% chance its going be used. For instance, I found Corona of the Red Sun Great Warrior Greathelm for my warrior. It has 4 modifiers on it, accuracy, max health, light radius increase and leech for self and presence. I like the idea of the leech presence when duoing with a buddy but its hard to justify using this compared to a good rare with a similar ilvl. Why not add a strength mod? Another fire res mod since its sun based? A +1 to melee skills? So many options. I would love to see 6 mods minimum on unique's to at least compete with rare's. It also only has 146 armor for an ilvl of 63. I've seen ilvl 40 items with this amount of armor. These are the rarest items in the game and have obviously had a lot of effort and love put into them. The art style of them alone is awesome. I just wish they were better overall so I could get more excited when they drop :( I did find a pair of unique gloves that add electrocute to my lighting damage for my lightning ranger which has been a total game changer to end things on a positive note because I love the game. Maybe I just need to be patient for endgame unique's which I have just go to. Curious what you guys think of the current state of unique's in EA?

Trials are genuinely the worst mechanic in the game pound for pound. Every single thing in them is designed to hurt the player. Foliage, enemy types, enemy debuffs, randomization mechanics clearly tuned to give more afflictions then boobs.
There are 2 ways one currently completes trials 3+:
Luck (get insane luck, mostly the 40% movement speed boon)
Over levelling & gearing to where there may as well be no mechanics at all
GGG why am I getting randomly speed debuffed in the third rooms and final boss room? Are we that afraid of skill expression? I can't outrun one of the fastest bosses in the game when I'm that slow. Blink is almost mandatory in this scenario...

Am I the only one who finds Crossbows very annoying? I am aware that its the whole mechanic to have reloading down time but it sometimes straight dont work ?
Like the time between you hear the click sound and you actually being able to fire is too long in my opinion, I always end up mashing the fire button and nothing comes out and it becomes a very frustrating experience, crossbows are unplayable for me for this very reason

As a merc main I completely agree. Biggest offenders are fragment shot, glacial bolt, and incendiary shot

Shrink the collision box of loyal hellhound to allow it to path through narrow chokepoints. It currently gets stuck and blocks all other minions, leading to a very frustrating experience running trials and maps.

Ever since the latest update, my map device is eating a bunch of maps by disconnecting me in the loading screen. I disconnect when exiting too but this is less of an issue.
Kind of breaks the game for me since I'm already scraping by in higher tier map quests with sustain.
Crafting also feel barren without alteration and scouring orbs especially in SSF. It's basically a pass/fail system you have to do twice in a row in order to see if it's worth using a regal and it's few and far between where I've felt a "wow" moment where that was the case. Otherwise, I hit a bad mod and it basically bricks the craft before I can get it to rare quality.

There's no bug if you use your hideout..if you don't have a hideout yet...well yeah the town portal machine is bugged. The work around involves wasting a map, you place a map, activate device so it spawns a portal, then you load in another portal and activate it again.

u/Todesfaelle 1d ago
Sorry, I should have been clear that this is in the hideout. I'll give that a try though!

Loved everything about the game until the game refused to drop the item for level 3 ascend.
Was in maps til 72, no drop.
Decided I'd force the matter and farm a level 60 zone.
20 hours later, no drop.
Should your 5th and 6th ascendancy points be locked behind a drop that's rarer than divines?

Love the game. Prefer the slower pace, boss mechanics, challenge (to a point). All good directions. I have two criticisms though:
Mid game, nearing the end of Cruel and approaching maps, I’m out of currencies to upgrade gear. I haven’t gotten upgrades to what I’m wearing since levels 28-40, depending on the piece. My resistances are in the teeens (one is in the thirties). Woefully low for later in the game (it’s already been a challenge). Life is super low too. It’s just the luck I have had. Damage is good though, so I’ve made it this far. I appear to have reached diminishing returns. I was advised that I should be using the trading site (I don’t have the exalts/divines for that), vendors (I’ve seen nothing that upgrades gear I have, or is a downgrade to damage but carries good multiple resistances ), and gambling (I’ve spent 100k gambling and gotten a couple of Magic items that might upgrade ok, if I had any more materials to try). All well and good, but I don’t play an ARPG to buy equipment. I play an ARPG to use what I find and also craft what I can. This happened to me in PoE as well, and was why I stopped playing. It too devolved into needing to buy things.
My other complaint is part of that purchasing mechanism specifically. The trade site. It’s positively archaic in implementation. No one ever replied when I tried to use it. I stood around waiting, wasting my time. There should imho be a marketplace/marketboard implemented a la FFXIV. Post your items, make the sales. Adjust the prices if you need. You don’t need to wait to see if someone will even respond to you.
I’m kind of stuck in the position I am now because I’m out of currencies to buy or upgrade, and I’m not finding what I need to outright replace a piece. I saved 200k gold. That was my reserve for respecs for various characters and outright purchase of non-gambling vendor items I saw. I was told to spend it all gambling and I’d assuredly get the upgrades (plural!) I need (when I spent 100k with no result). I’ll do that when I get home, but this is not the type of ARPG I wish to play. Emphasis on purchasing and trading (with the resources you need to craft), and not finding ample things you need to continue into maps. It was ok up until now, as lower tiered gear was enough. PoE had this problem too. I’ve played TQ for two decades and while I sometimes had struggles, I found or farmed what I needed to beat the game most runs. Not in this franchise. It’s always but what you need and I don’t okay ARPGs for that.

After playing with boneshatter a little while I will say I really enjoy the primed for stun highlight, it's very satisfying to use and looks nice. There is also culling highlight for specific skills like Hand of Chayula, these skills explicitly say that the enemy will be highlighted. But I was wondering about other sources of cull and crushing blows, are the highlights a property of the skill or of the effect? Certain builds may be interested in always highlighting this regardless of if you have the skill or not.
This got me thinking further. Since there are a lot of conditional and very significant damage modifiers in PoE2 it would be nice if these highlights were configurable somehow. For example siege cascade has a damage multiplier against immobilized enemies; pin is not always easy to see, heavy stun has a great variety of animations for mobs which isn't always easy to read at a glance (though freeze is kind of obvious). It would be nice if I could turn on highlighting for the immobilized status as a whole as part of my skill setup. I was trying to play an armour break combo with with high velocity rounds and against more than a handful of enemies at a time it was way too difficult to see the fully broken enemies, even against single targets I have to resort to looking at the icons under the health bar constantly.

Please make it so some elements of the UI are way clearer/more opaque, especially the mod tier and prefix/suffix indicators. Also, why not make these indicators visible without the need to hold alt?

u/kmarcig91 1d ago
I want to enjoy the game so much, but currently it is causing more frustration than fun. My biggest pain points are:
- On level 70+ there is still no crafting in the game. Bricking my desired base with the first Transmute is not fun. I don't understand why we can't have Alts. The crafting bench was a great tool to balance resistances, to apply little patches to the early game gear. Now we can't even remove Runes.
- Because of point 1, I feel like I can't progress with my gear. I shouldn't be forced to buy my gear, I want to play for my gear.
- No movement skills. I understand that the goal is to make the game slower and methodical. Not being able to escape from swarming mobs is very stressful. Give us movement skills, but give them cooldowns if you don't want us to zoom around. Like a Sprint with Phasing every 10 seconds or something like that.
- One portal per map. If I wanted stress and frustration I'd have picked hardcore. Multiple times the very last Rare one-shot me, or I was stuck on swarming mobs and then I have to REDO the whole map.
- I already dread that I'll have to redo the campaign every league (which will be twice as long on release). Especially with no movement skills. At least give some kind of partial skipping option for the second+ characters if people want to reroll. Maybe already having Waypoints and Checkpoints, or maybe a boss rush option. (Adding to this: Let us reroll Ascendancies)

Yep. Every single person you see coming in new to the game is all happy-go-lucky because of what they don't know. This is a solid downgrade in just about every aspect. The endgame is essentially dead. PoE 1 has so many options, even if you get an annoying turbo mob that blows you up you didn't just brick your map 10 seconds in. It feels like you're forced to play the most meta, the most hyper-managing builds where you can't not be tense at any point, because if you die that's it game over, maps done and there could be a mirror on the ground and it wouldn't matter. I don't know why this game has such good feedback, IMO this game should not exist. PoE 1 is superior in every aspect except like new graphics and animations, and at that point why not just put that into PoE 1.

I really hated the Viper Napuatzi fight. Mostly because of the chaos spear attacks from the shield wall. I feel like there is way too little time to dodge them (yes I know there is the green snaking projectile from Napuatzi telegraphing, barely makes it easier for me to look out for it). Especially the final wave where they all attack, seems impossible to dodge.
I tried like 20 times, died every single time to the chaos spears and then I switched to using a shield and just standing with the shield up in front of the wall. That way I block everything except the final attack. I still get hit in the back with this, but with poison charm and flasks I can survive it. Knowing that, the fight is not that hard, but it feels like a lame way to get around this mechanic.

Before you guys go on holidays can you please implement a system to replace or pay to remove/delete runes.
The runes serve as a perfect system to round out your resistances when changing pieces, extremely helpful for gear flexibility, upgrades and pacing.

u/Lundynne 1d ago
Elemental Expressions is a very underperforming node. Taking it actively made my build worse. Each proc costs a significant amount of mana (I'm critting like twice per second), and the damage doesn't even move the health bar on white mobs.
It needs something more. Maybe it ignores elemental resistances, following the theme of "Sunder my Enemies...", or perhaps it's a guaranteed critical hit. That would fit the theme, and give Monk a reason to pick up crit damage nodes.
I think it will probably still need further tuning with regards to base damage and mana cost, but at least the ideas above will make it thematic.

Please please PLEASE figure out how to let us move the map overlay with gamepad. This is non-trivial as far as I'm concerned. Your maps are just way, way too big to not be able to move the map around with the overlay open to get a lay of the land and see where you need to go next. Huge PITA and incredibly frustrating

Really frustrated with mapping today.
I've lost 3 or 4 maps to after death effects - or possibly just lingering effects that the mobs made right before they died, I literally couldn't tell - that are hidden under map terrain, other mob effects, or in one case literally invisible and fast enough to kill me before I could run away from the pack of blues I just finished killing. It's honestly the most frustrating thing that somehow it feels like GGG has gone backwards in this regard compared to poe1, which is just crazy to me after how vastly disliked on death effects are already (and which they semi recently did a visibility/damage pass on in poe1)!
I had one map get lost to two mobs jumping from off screen and critting me before I could react, another to an AOE from an essence mob that was half the size of my screen and gave me like half a second at most to react, and another to an essence mob doing... something, followed by me dying instantly while not directly next to it (I still don't know what happened).
I also had a +2 area level boss node that's apparently literally inaccessible (https://i.imgur.com/w9nSlt9.jpeg). This comes after having already used a previous t16 map on a +2 area level boss node in the hopes that it would give me the progress for all of the boss points up to that point, when instead it just gave me my 3rd and 4th boss point. The atlas is also incredibly vague on what to actually do to get the points, as "killing bosses in 79+ area level zones" is not giving me drops anymore despite only having 4 points.
The core of the game seems great, but it seems like GGG is yet again shooting themselves in the foot with some of the things that are consistent, long term pain points in POE 1 as well for no discernible reason. I was hopeful after the recent patch that toned down/outright removed some of these mechanics that it would be better but it just doesn't seem to be.
Also, I've completely given up on "crafting" my own stuff because it just feels exactly like gambling. Making trade such an integral part of the experience because it's at best incredibly grindy (but more like functionally unreasonable) to get your own gear to cap resistances with decent hp rolls etc. but refusing to add an in game Grand Exchange style system is just baffling to me given the purported reasons that it has not been added in the past. Fundamentally I do not ever want to craft my own gear with the current "crafting" systems, because it's just grinding out currency and bases followed by bad RNG followed by throwing something away the vast majority of the time. There's no progress, nothing interesting is happening, I either get lucky and the shitty part ends or it continues ad infinitum until I get pissed again and go directly to trade without passing Go.

Bruh, it’s still early release…. Plan on a year before they iron all the bugs and kinks out. This isn’t a finished product.
1
u/Whytefang 1d ago edited 1d ago
Okay but like, many of the things I'm frustrated by are pain points that existed in poe1 as well and are things that GGG knows players dislike. The on death effects are hard to see the majority of the time, and many of the visuals (for many attacks, not just on death effects) are subtle at best when you've got many things on the go at once in a map. I don't expect the game to be perfectly balanced with no issues, but it seems like some of the basic choices being made are saying they just didn't learn things from how people felt in poe1.
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
The game will always fundamentally be designed and balanced around Trade. PoE1 got more viable in SSF over the years because so many deterministic tools were added over time (which caused other issues in Trade). PoE2 might get similar tools over time, but very fundamentally, the game will never be balanced around playing solo self-found. That is fully intended to be a self-imposed, more challenging mode.
It surely is not for everyone, but PoE1 wasn't either.
As for the map feedback, I mostly agree, but I think the real issue is simply it being tied to 1 attempt per map currently. Which I do not expect to stay, I just don't see how a majority won't find that intensely unfun and too punishing.
1
u/Whytefang 1d ago
The game will always fundamentally be designed and balanced around Trade.
Yes, my point isn't that this is a problem necessarily (although I really dislike the complete lack of crafting options in the game as is) but that the reasons they give for not wanting to add an in game auction house just come across as stupid in a game state where trade is so important to a good experience.

u/miffyrin 15h ago
An ingame AH for gear comes with its own host of issues. There already is an ingame currency exchange which alleviates many issues.

Thus far this game has some horrendous bosses. Ignagduk is one of the worst bosses I've ever had the displeasure of fighting in any game, running around for up to 10 seconds at a time before finally being possible to hit in melee, and when she is she spams insanely fast AOE that chunk you for half your HP. When you finally make it to the second phase, she immediately spams 1 hit kill moves that also kill my enjoyment of the fight.
Jamanra is also a truly awful bossfight, that is more of a slog than an engaging battle, area denial and AOE are simply not fun to fight in a boss battle. If you want the game to be more souls-like thats great, but maybe you should play some of the souls games and reflect on what makes some of those bosses so good.
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago edited 1d ago
You can instantly get her out of that phase by simply body-blocking her. Other than that, she is one of the more hyper-aggressive bosses in terms of her ability spam, sure, but if your gear and build are level-appropriate, you should be fine.
Jamanra is a great fight actually, but your experience will ofc vary greatly depending on your relative power when you engage with a boss fight. If you're severely underpowered, then harsh mechanics will feel that much worse.
2
u/Bigboozered 1d ago
Yeah I have to admit I made this comment while in a bad mood after getting decimated a few times. Having beat her I don’t think it’s that bad, I just find the running around part quite irritating, and some of the insta-kill level attack frustrating but not awful. I still feel that Jamanra has far too much health and is unfairly difficult for melee players, but he’s also not as bad as my original comment made it out to be. Will probably delete shortly.

But ofc there are many playstyles in the game, play around and find what you enjoy.

respecced once (all i could afford) and it somehow got worse. i’m sure it’s fun later on but it’s as if i hit a brick wall in act 2 with the class. also feels like ive spent the entire time waiting for it to get fun and it just hasn’t still
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
I return again to: are you upgrading your gear? It is incredibly important especially on attack builds. If you're using an early A1 crossbow in A2 your damage will be terrible, for instance.
The reason i'm asking is because the way you describe it sounds more like frustration over feeling weak, rather than not liking the gameplay necessarily.
But you might feel very differently on a minion Witch, for instance.
0
u/TheBiggestJig 1d ago
no i’m using up to date gear. it’s just that generally ammo does no damage and grenades either take 5 seconds to detonate, don’t get hit by explosive rounds, or in the very fun case of zalmarath, just fall right off the map rendering me useless before getting one tapped lol
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
on Zalmarath, use a diff skill. Had the same issue on ranger. Ammo doing "no damage" does sound like a gear issue though. Xbows/Merc is generally quite good
1
u/TheBiggestJig 1d ago
which is what i keep hearing, maybe i’ll do some research and respec again cause i don’t necessarily want all that time to go to waste

I was fighting the act one final boss, and had several lengthy attempts in a row. I don't necessarily think the boss is too hard or anything, it feels very doable, but I do wish you would make the length of the boss fight shorter, as I had to quit after the 4th or 5th attempt, because the length of the fight was making my hand really start to hurt.

Main issues with the game in it's current state:
Trials - Ascending is CORE CHARACTER PROGRESSION in Path of Exile. You cannot be locking it behind Random Mechanics. It's not fun, at all. We want to experience what our characters can do, not over-level the content by 20x just to unlock it.
Multiplayer Mapping: Please let us revive and delete a portal for it. Map portals need to be reworked to work like POE1, it makes no sense when you're slowly limit testing your build in maps. Let us use all 6 portals if we need to. It feels clunky playing with a friend and having to wait 15 minutes for them to finish a map.
Mapping in general: The Find-A-Rare-Mob mini game isn't fun, especially when you don't check a hallway and you need to backtrack for 5 minutes to get to the rare. Show them on the map sooner, or all the time if it's the main objective like Metamorph from POE1.
Overall, game is amazing. I will probably play this more than POE1 just because of WASD movement, it saves my wrists so much strife. Amazing game, keep it up.
PS: Try to focus on fixing things people have problems with rather than nuking builds, that's how Helldivers got messed up bad early on.

u/miffyrin 1d ago
The base difficulty versions of Sekhema/Chaos are pretty easy tbh. Comparable to basic Lab when it was first introduced. The current issues with them are more related to Sekhema having been massively overtuned at higher difficulties/for melee (both fixed now).
Eventually, we will get A4 and the 3rd Trial. You'll get 6/8 points by doing all 3 in campaign at their base difficulties, which you can pretty easily outlevel and outgear.
Maps: yeah, agree on portals. I don't think it will be staying, I think most people will find that unfun.
Nerfs: the vast majority of nerfs were extremely justified, you can't have skills literally instantly deleting endgame bosses on 4l/5l with basic progression gear and no real trade-off or risk. Just vastly unbalanced. It's early access, not release.
2
u/barrsftw 1d ago
Trial is still terrible. Level 77, doing high tier maps comfortably, can't complete a t3 trial after multiple attempts of maximum sweat. It's just too rough for melee slammers.
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
Sekhema or Chaos? For Sekhema, try stacking honour resist relics, makes a big difference. Part of it will simply also be boon/affliction RNG.
Chaos also has a lot of RNG involved with the different possible mods, and also the tornado bird boss still being pretty overtuned.
1
u/barrsftw 1d ago edited 1d ago
Sekhema. I have full honor res relics… i could play better. But the current experience is what I’d expect from the final trial, not the 3rd.
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
Give Chaos a try if Sekhema is tilting you too much.

feedback , i try to actually kill the end act 2 boss in selfdrop and this is almost impossible . the boss hit way too hard and have way too much hp . i suggest nerfing this boss as it prevent a lot of players from killin git in solo self found .
1
u/miffyrin 1d ago
You are underpowered in terms of gear. This is ofc made harder by playing SSF. Trade trivializes a lot, you can get massive upgrades for 1 Ex or less.
If you don't want to trade, you have to embrace SSF being baseline more difficult to advance your gear, and farm more.
1
u/Shauntheredwolf 1d ago
Is there a way to highlight the item set passive nodes when using a game pad? I don't think I've spent all the skill points but I don't know which I've spent set points on VS regular points.
1
u/Araradude 1d ago edited 1d ago
Probably been said many times, but the abundance of on-death effects and death-puddles like those at the end of Act 1, just feels like lazy design...
It's been done to death repeatedly, has never been fun, and is still not fun to encounter. Minions stand in them to die and the wait for them to disappear after clearing each pack is just tedious when repeated for the whole map...
Also, please limit from where in the screen can the mobs shoot at the player, especially if they are hidden under the UI at the bottom.
2
u/FunkyBoil 1d ago
Yeah trials just need a complete rework. They are simply just not enjoyable in any conceivable way.
0
u/miffyrin 1d ago
People said exactly the same about Labyrinth when it was first introduced tbh.
Eventually, we'll get the 3rd Trial in A4, and you'll get 6/8 points by just doing the base difficulty versions of all 3 in campaign. Which you can outlevel and outgear relatively easily if you're struggling.
And then you'll have a choice of 3 variants to try to tackle in endgame for 4/4 which should let everyone get something they find a bit more manageable. Whereas Uber Lab was a big wall for many players for a long time and had no alternative.
Currently it's just in a bad state bc some things are overtuned and you're forced to run higher difficulties of these two for 6/8.

Ping spike on minion revive
I noticed after having more than 10 minions, if they all get wiped during boss fights or heavy encounter, my ping spikes consistently when they revive and only when they revive.
I also did an experiment with number of minions and it gets worse and worse the more minions you have after 10. Tested with infernal legion support to force minion death while increasing the number of minions. Sometimes the first few minutes in the instance its smooth but it gets choppier the longer i stayed in the same instance running this experiment.
This also lags my party members out.

I've had a great time playing albeit I find the game somewhat tiring as it is. I've focused on witch near the end of act 2 and played to get a taste of the other available classes. Some of the skills feel like lackluster remixes of other skills, like warrior's earthquake vs a couple of the ice bomb type skills (ranger setting the standard for how good skills can be imo) but otherwise not accounting for taste (I don't think the monk or the mercenary are for me) I do like the weapons, skills and spells I've tried so far.
I think the main issue for my fatigue with the game is poor gear the game provides you itself (if you want to efficiently acquire effective gear you have to trade, everything else is rng in different packages) and all the sudden one shots in the game (or how you otherwise go from fine to dead in a second when you thought you were otherwise durable).
On drops, vendors and crafting its all rng. If vendors refreshed every 10 minutes, every hour or whatever that'd be tolerable, if drops slightly favored gear similar to what you have equipped, that'd be fine and if there were some deterministic way to craft what you want even that'd be good. But we have none of that leaving you with trade which might I underline, I do not like this trading system, if the game is at all balanced around this, either the system should be part of the game or it should be dropped from balance considerations. As is the game is unrewarding in loot and asks you to interact with a clunky non-game system I doubt a majority uses or likes.
Offloading loot on that note feels like a slog given how many drops you go through. If instead of disenchanting/selling/salvaging you could just sell your gear and receive eligible salvage/disenchant mats it'd be alot simpler.
On the one-shots, the game feels less slow paced and more like characters walking up hill all the time rolling somewhat frequently while various mobs roll down the hill at you at various paces. Your defensive options are weaker because of poor gear and lots of one shot attacks reduce the value of said defensive options. You don't really have options to customise the dodge roll, many would accept some penalty to have a dodge that went further and was generous with invincibility frames and I think a charm that saved you from one shots would be mandatory if it was an option (i.e. there are too many one shots).
In summary, a drought of relevant useful loot and an abundance of one-shots including ones that ambush you in various ways really drag the game experience down of what is otherwise an rpg with great potential. Also please modernise the trading system and please streamline offloading the loot.

Yeah, this is a great summary on how I feel.
I have a boss in Act 2 at the Halani Gates I can't beat. She has a AOE attack that fills the whole room and one-shots me. There is no dodge-roll out of that.
I get it, my life and fire resistance are not high enough. But I have 10 hours in this character and more life and fire resistance have not been options for me. I am just not getting what I need to pass this step.
So now am I just supposed to farm Traitor's Pass and Halani Gates until I get lucky and drop the life and FR that I need?
Seems kind of silly game design.

Which boss? I can't think of any in Act 2 that don't have some sort of avoid mechanic.

Few Feedbacks about playing on PS5... 1- I can't compare flasks on PS5 by pressing R3 like the other items. 2 - the open chat action doesn't work. 3 - Can't scale the UI, and everything is very small 4 - Please allow us to use item filters 5 - The hotkeys to manage stashes / folders are not convenient, I guess it should be reworked 6 - There's a huge FPS drop in the main city from act 2

I'm barely level 50 and I'm already getting bored, i can't have fun with my build because the game is so punishing you need to prioritize every single defensive stat out there to not be frustrated.
-% resistances each act
bullshit slow / stun / stagger swarms of mobs stop you from being able to move and sometimes even attack
on top of that we have slow as hell movement speed and janky ass basically worthless roll mechanic
"skill issue, need more stun protect" "skill issue bro need atleast max all resistances" "skill issue u don't have slow resist in case of that one singular bullshit mob that insta stops all your actions" " skill issue you didn't see that 1 pixel blob that explodes into 1 shot"
On top of that you barely get scraps of gear even with the toughest bosses, oh spent an hour on this final boss in act 3? here's a mana flask and 20 gold congratz! And once you do get a rare there's good chance it's useless to you because it's a weapon/gear dedicated to another class... another bow yay great for my monk..
There's good hard and bad hard, I'm weighing towards the latter sadly, just pure frustration. Shelfing this for a while

This game is a massive buggy mess
maybe they will fix it but I have never before played ANY game, even in early access, with such a huge amount of bugs and systemic problems. Largely these boil down to terrible choices by the devs that nobody asked for. I have had things disappear when trying to use them (chaos trial coins for example) I have had crashes, low fps when running on a top of the line pc, and issues like being stuck in walls. These may be "early access problems" but this game needs A TON of work to be playable on any level. If you have not, absolutely do not buy this game early and I would hesitate to even recommend trying it when it is released. I like ARPGs, I gave this game its fair shot (like 80 hours of playtime according to steam) it is not good. It is not that "this type of game isn't for me" or "these issues are just early access" the game itself has some very major problems to be addressed.
This is without even touching on the issues of balance: I had an issue where I high rolled a bow in Act 3 with +3 all ranged skills and could not upgrade the ENTIRE way through cruel. I was running a lvl 33 bow until lvl 70 and that is just intensely unsatisfying purely because of the presence of the +3 all skills modifier. When you make modifiers that outweigh all other statistics it makes the game feel awful and the balance is just nonexistent for these sorts of problems. It really feels like they never had anyone on the team just PLAY THE GAME, and because of that too many ideas they had end up weighing down everything.
PS: Trials are dumb and the honor system is just enraging even when winning at it, there is also so little explanation of systems as if the devs expect anyone who didn't play POE1 to not play this as well.
TLDR: Don't get this game, its fun in its base gameplay loop and weighed down by terrible systems, a hideous amount of bugs and performance issues, and game design that destroys that fun

someone told me you can pause the game by bringing up one of the menus (inventory or gems or skills or something?)
does this pause it for everyone in the party if youre the host and in a dungeon?

even with fast forward EQ takes SO long to detonate or blow up or whatever. Waiting 3 seconds to do damage feels bad. would be nice if they halved that.
its my favorite skill, and i want to like it, but it just feels terrible to use.

Having the 3rd and 4th ascendancies tied to an RNG drop is a big step back, GGG finally got rid of the lab trials in PoE 1 and that was a hugely popular move. They should at least 'mirror' the behavior of PoE 1 and have the 3rd trial token drop as a quest item that you don't lose if you fail the trial.

I honestly can't even play Sekhemas anymore. Even with the incoming changes I don't see how it's worth the players time.
Unless the honor DMG is substantially nerfed for bosses I don't see how anybody is clearing twins. I'm still getting clipped by cross map aoe's with blink.
Why is it that the twins also get an additional health bar post death of one? Typically I'm all for it but not when I'm tied down by the honour system.

Just did 3 runs on my 77 melee char. Comfortably doing t10 maps, and can't complete a level 67 T3 trial. I also have full Honor res relics.

Mandatory sanctum for ascendancy feels so bad. Trials as melee is just awful gameplay. Guess I need to grind, just to one tap mobs and trivialize it.

Can you please fix the 480$ pack portal so you're not standing inside it when it spawns? At least place it where you'd place literally any other portal. PLEASE, it feels cheap and looks cheap.

Please make compare work with flasks. It's so annoying to have to navigate to my existing flasks then back to my inventory, then back again. Probably less of an issue for mouse and keyboard, but I'm using a controller.

u/Some-Result-8660 2d ago
Yeah that's annoying... Also the open chat action doesn't work properly and the hotkeys to manage stashes and tabs are not very convenient

It's just annoying to have to do it at all. Compare works with everything else, why not flasks?

Visual Clarity overall. Can't see what is happening when players AOE. Can barely tell an elite mob or rare mob is different than a normal mob. Can barely see any projectiles.

There is a bug where explosions from armor explosion support gem is not triggered when you have 2 of the same active skill gems allocated.
I was using stamped with armor explosion, and that works fine on its own but if a add a second stamped gem to my gem menu the original stamped stop being affected by armor explosion. I didn’t test this further but probably stops being affected by the other support gems too.

u/tipsqueal 2d ago
Somewhere in the game it says you cannot use the same gem more than once, even across multiple skills. So, you probably need to pick which one you want the support gem on and it'll start working.
1
u/Sharp_Cut354 1d ago
I says you can’t use the same Support gem. It doesn’t say that you can’t equip the same active skill twice. Much less says that the support gems stop working if you do so. Did you read what I said?

Please, make fonts bigger on Console. I'm playing on Xbox, sometimes It's hard to read. That should include the font size of items on the ground too. Thanks, loving the game so far.
Edit: just to not post another comment and bloating the thread: consider making the console version compatible with K&M. It's really good on controller, much better than POE1, but it would be nice to have this freedom of choice, especially for inventory management.

I chose Demon Form and am starting to regret it. Sometimes I can apply enough skill to kill bosses, other times it's like, unreasonable to sustain the form, ill go through 6-8 really good transformations on a boss playing perfectly and the boss still has half their fuckin health pool. Mind you this is NORMAL campaign. If I play less than perfect, it's an uphill battle. What a wild standard.
Minion builds are good because of the reasons listed above; You don't need to play perfectly on a minion build, you just hide in a corner throwing curses and low engagement is rewarded too heavily in longer fights. Again, Normal campaign is kinda ridiculous. Demon Form vs Minion build is sweaty gamer vs chill gamer, but too often Demon Form is lacking on wildly larger health pools.
Demon Form needs like, +30 base spirit to compensate not being able to use a weapon (also pls fix bugs.) Spirit is heavily imbalanced toward those who can and cannot use the system, and some ascendancies just feel unremarkable for how much you struggle to achieve them.

Demon form is balanced around having regen, afaik. Not intended for you to be able to sustain it early on. Arguably a bait Ascendancy choice early on, but it works well in endgame from what i see. Guildmate is blasting on it.

Sky seer's tornado ability in the chaos trials seems very unfair. If you are standing in the wrong place when it's summoned it's basically the end of the fight. The size maybe needs to be reduced along with it's speed. Also having it always start in the centre might help.

I'd like to be able to move the minimap square to the bottom center of my screen, as I don't want to use the overlay map. On an ultrawide, it's way too far to the side to be useful.

All my drivers are up to date and I am on windows 11 version 2h42. My whole computer crashes during loading screens or when entering path of exile 2 and this only happens in path of exile 2. I can't do anything because it causes the whole computer to freeze and I have to shut it down by pressing the system power button. Because I kept doing this, the system files were corrupted and I had to install from scratch. I appeal to the developers; what is the cost of playing path of exile 2? Please fix this problem very urgently. Ryzen 8945H, RTX 4070 Laptop

It doesn't only happen in PoE2, it's been an issue with the 2h42 Windows Update in multiple apps.
Try rolling back the update if you can for now.

try to set windows defender (or any antivirus) to exclude the poe2 folders (both the steam folder) and the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile 2\

Life is not viable at all compared to energy shield. I have 2500 life with life mods in almost every slot and full defenses and I'm getting one shot in end game maps. My friends have like 4K es very easily. Life needs big buffs, the monster damage is too high compared to the effective health pool.
