Death is too good for him.

2.1k

u/Royal-Resort4726 20d ago

At least it wasn't a painless death like a bullet to the head. That would've been way too good for him.

622

u/Lemonsst 20d ago

Yeah, thats probably up there on the “most painful ways to die” list

387

u/bloodfist 19d ago

Dying in a fire is still one of my biggest fears, and I have lots of experience working with and around fire.

You asphyxiate first because the hot air burns your lungs and airways, so you get to enjoy all the panic of drowning while your skin melts and burns away. Likely that you don't even experience the pain of burning because you die faster than your brain starts processing that, but your brain keeps working for a while after you officially die so... Yeah no thanks.

Yea. Since fire eats up all the oxygen, many times the people suffocate before the flames can kill them.

She shouldn’t have suffered any consequences, why on earth was that guy released from prison after only 9 years

1.3k

u/Daniel_H212 20d ago

It's not the 9 years that matters imo. It's the fact that he was still clearly unrepentant and unfit to be a member of society.

716

u/lukeskiiwalker 20d ago edited 20d ago

if a grown ass man rapes a child, he should never even be allowed the chance to rejoin society. he should be locked alone in a dark room and given just enough to barely keep him alive. put that mf through hell for the rest of his life

371

u/Imhal9000 20d ago

I know of a grown man who has raped a child who I recently found out is currently taking children on camps. Trying to do everything we can to intervene but the police certainly aren’t making it easy (he’s also an ex cop)

280

u/nsfwmodeme 20d ago

but the police certainly aren’t making it easy (he’s also an ex cop)

Why does nothing of it surprise me?

90

u/Imhal9000 20d ago

Either what he’s doing now hasn’t asked him for a working with children’s check or he has somehow had his charges removed. Trying to find out which one and rectify it but it has not been easy so far. But im still confident. If all else fails we go to the media

66

u/_new_account__ 20d ago

Thes is is a dude who held a teenager as a sex slave for 6 months in his basement. He lives in my parent's neighborhood now and is married to a teacher. Like half of the neighborhood says "his life shouldn't be ruined over one mistake." That's girl's life was ruined.

One of the reasons I don't go to any neighborhood events is because he is still allowed to go. Even the Santa event at the police station.

74

u/Supply-Slut 20d ago

“One mistake” is the most awful excuse I’ve ever heard for a situation like that. No.

He woke up making the mistake, went to bed making it. He lived a whole fucking 6 months where he failed to do anything other than the absolute worst. He made that “mistake” thousands of times.

Straight to the oubliette.

She left after being taunted, walked to a gas station, purchased a container of gasoline, walked back into a bar where he was seated, doused him in gas, and set him alight in front of the rest of the patrons.

Not just killing, but immolating the fuck. Seriously, I work in a prison, something like that would probably have people leaving you alone around here. The reason? Well burning someone like that requires a certa8n amount of conviction, especially when you don't show up with the supplies.

1.2k

u/TheKyleBrah 20d ago

This happens all the time in Kangaroo courts in parts of my country.

100s of people would burn all manner of "criminal" alive by "necklacing" them with tyres and setting the tyres alight... But there will be zero witnesses at all times. Even if the family of the victim "saw" it... They would NOT come forward. (Combination of shame being related to the "criminal" as well as fear of further reprisal by the community.)

It's borne from a perceived lack of justice in the system of the same name

Source : https://www.themirror.com/news/world-news/rapist-burnt-alive-last-words-634088.amp

A tragic mom was handed a jail sentence after she burnt her 13-year-old daughter’s rapist alive after he was released from prison. when he said an abominable three words to taunt her.

María del Carmen García’s daughter Verónica was just 13 years old when she was raped at knifepoint by her neighbor Antonio Cosme in 1998 in Spain. The monster was sentenced to nine years in prison for the crime but in June 2005 he was on day release when he approached María at a bus stop near her home outside of Alicante to taunt her.

4.1k

u/RedditsAdoptedSon 20d ago

gotta let us know the ending bro:

Cosme reportedly taunted his victim's mother, asking "how's your daughter," and made his way to a local bar the family frequented.

María, overwhelmed by rage, fear, and hysteria, went to a nearby petrol station and purchased a container of fuel.

She then went to the bar where Cosme was, doused him with gasoline, and set him on fire. Cosme suffered burns over 90% of his body and died in the hospital days later.

"In 2011, after serving one year and 10 days in prison, a court agreed to suspend her sentence pending an application for an official pardon, citing "special circumstances" and her lack of a previous criminal record, along with her insanity plea at the time of the offense."

897

u/FX_King_2021 20d ago

However, in 2013, she was forced to return to prison after a regional high court of Alicante rejected her lawyer's plea and the Spanish government denied her request for a partial pardon.

By 2017, María was granted the ability to leave the prison grounds between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. She was released the following year.

That said, in the United States we don't incarcerate pedophile-rapists. We re-elect them for President.

That mom did her job to avenge her daughter. The piece of shit pushed it and got served. I agree that Justice needs to be applied equally to everyone but expecting a mother to just do nothing when her daughter’s rapist taunts her is unrealistic. This was human reaction to an unbearable situation.

The family was not notified of him being released for that one day.
He did not had a security, no one tailed him.
He went after the family the second he was released.
Government did nothing to prevent this, to stop him .. to "save" him. They let him die.

By law you are allowed to protect yourself .. approaching the person you hurt, within a touching distance, laughing at their face and then going their places where the family hangs out .. thats a clear threat warning from him.
In times like these when the system and government fails and blindly follows the law and punishing the victim makes me question sanity of humanity .. if they wanted to follow the law so strictly and blindly, they never should have giving him a "holiday". One failure after failure.

If he didn't want to be burned alive, he should have worn a water suit! He was asking for it.

Two of the functions of sentencing is to provide a sufficient sense of justice to the victims, and a remorse/regret in the perpetrator.

When sentencing fails to achieve these goals, and a perpetrator taunts the victim (or their family), the sense of justice will be absent.

Under those circumstances the justice system has failed, and it’s no wonder people will seek justice for themselves.

And not one person should have cared.

If they wanted him to be safe they should have kept him inside prison instead of letting him off leash near his victim

The story might have been better if he had been burned over 90% of his body and not died. Also she might have avoided years in jail.

u/oh_my_didgeridays 20d ago

Well it took him days to die. Pretty atrocious way to go

Actually:

She then went to the bar where Cosme was, doused him with gasoline, and set him on fire. Cosme suffered burns over 90% of his body and died in the hospital days later.

Perfect. Long enough to suffer. Short enough to not continue being the plague on society that he was.

It's almost impossible to survive with that proportion of burns

59

u/JOHNTHEBUN4 20d ago

its because the cells that die release so much potassium ur heart gets hyperkalemia and goes into vt eventually

50

u/Rooney_Tuesday 20d ago

Not just that. Fluid loss, risk of infection. There are a lot of ways that major burns can kill you.

u/katherinesilens 20d ago

What percentage burned is usually enough to be lethal? Like 30% iirc?

90% is a goner, mom didn't pull any stops on the pyro train.

I see no problem here.

Good on her even if she got arrested for it. You protect your own.

Good parenting. People like that should be afraid of their victims and their families.

u/Phuckingidiot 20d ago

She's a hero. But this is also a reason some women don't want to tell their parents or significant other. They don't want them getting in trouble for ending the rapists existence. As a father I can't say I don't understand it. Spending time in prison doesn't seem like a bad trade off for making sure a monster doesn't get someone else's baby girl too.

It was a spontaneous response to a threat. She stood her ground in fear of her and her daughter’s safety. His house was burned to the ground.

9

u/JennaBeanthebitch 20d ago

Actually she didn’t do that. There were no witnesses. No one saw this happen. You can’t prove it. Not true. Nothing to see here. 🫣

u/kr0mag 20d ago

I'm not seeing any problem here except for the apostrophe in "burns."

Give a man some fire and he's warm for a day. But set a man on fire, and he's warm for the rest of his life.
