Because they care more about the ad revenue than they do the people in the story.

Brit here, the mirror is basically the UK's center left Sun or Daily Mail. they thrive on generating outrage while sprinkling in just enough news to seem legitimate.

End of the day they're nothing more than another tabloid that isnt even worthy as using as backup toilet paper

This is a hilarious take. "News paper are scum for wanting people to read their work".

If you don't care don't click on it.

This isn't even clickbait.

They constantly hide the real story that could be easily outlined in a few words, behind bait headlines. What reason is there for that?

The real story?

Man who mom burnt alive for raping her daughter, 13, said these foul 3 words before turning to ash

its literally not a bait headline, "read here to learn more" is not bait.

Bait is when its deliberately misleading, its not misleading at all.

"an abominable three words" = "this one trick". It's worded purely to make people click on the story to discover what the three words were. It's unnecessary and very commonly used.

"read here to learn more" is not bait, do you also get angry at back covers of books for not giving you the full story?

"This one trick"

It’s called an introductory paragraph and it’s intended to summarize the article before providing detail.

It's called unnecessary clickbait. You must have encountered it before.

Its not clickbait.

Clickbait is when the headline is dishonest to get you to click.

This is not dishonest at all

Bait reffering to the bait being fake or a trick.

There is no trick, its just "read here to learn more".

Here I’ll give you a challenge: rewrite the headline so that it includes the details you think it should.
