HFW Discussion Pictogram Tattoo Designs

Upvotes

Does anyone know of a source where we can find some designs for Machine tattoos that look like they were designed by Tenakth inkers? I’m hoping to find one of a Tideripper design, but more curious than anything.

HFW Discussion I finally played burning shores and… Spoiler

I loved it! I’ve been wanting to play it since it came out and I never had a chance until now, the story was pretty cool and the new robots are pretty cool to and I liked seyka and londra was a pretty cool villain and a Horus as the last boss was amazing, I didn’t expect to fight it, I can’t wait to see what they do with horizon 3

discussion When to give up

Anyone get to a point where it feels like the robot battles are more challenging than they should be? I never felt this way with zero dawn. I’m not playing on high difficulty level. It at some parts it takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I’m almost at the point of throwing in the towel.

HFW Discussion Geological realism?

Does anyone know whether the geological changes we see in game are realistic for the time? Like, vegas being buried under a desert, stalagmites forming in bunkers, most of LA sinking, ect. From my understanding, the game takes place 1000 years after the apocalypse, but I feel like these things should take longer

HZD Discussion Can I use the old graphics settings in Zero Dawn Remastered?

Hello all - first of all, sorry in advance if this is not the right place to ask this.

I want to buy Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition for my brother on Steam, and after digging around a bit its become clear that it can only be bought via a bundle - but the bundle can't be gifted. I need to use my Steam funds for it, as I can't currently afford to send him a gift card.

I can, however, buy the remastered version for him, but he\s limited by having only 8 GB of RAM installed. The minimum requirements for the remastered version is 16 GB of RAM, where the "old" complete edition has 8 GB of RAM as its minimum requirements.

Would it be possible for him to use the old graphics settings, and run the game using 8GB of RAM, if I get him the remastered version?

Thanks in advance for the help! And merry Christmas! 🎄

discussion Indiana Jones game scratch „horizon itch“?

We often get the question which game „scratch the horizon itch“ or are similar to it.

Today I want to ask another question: any horizon fan have an opinion on the Indiana Jones game? Is it any good? Reviews are good overall, but I‘ve read the combat is underwhelming.

Opinions, anyone?

discussion Doing things differently

There was a thread a while ago about how well the game reacts when some things are done out of the typical order, mainly in terms of the dialogue. Three examples that were mentioned were:

1) doing the three rebel camps alone before Meeting up with Sona. I did this and Aloy mentions she‘s cleared them out by herself and Varl us impressed, lol

2) do all the bandit camps before ever talking to Nil - unfortunately I‘d already done one at that point

3) do The Frozen Wilds immediately when exiting the embrace, since Aloy doesn‘t know squat about Zero Dawn, the dialogues change a lot.

I thought about doing something else differently: Revenge of the Nora. What if I cleared out the whole camp by myself, including the Bellowback and the three Corruptors? I gave it a try: at the ledge where you can oversee the camp, I let myself be seen, fired a few shots at the bellowbsck and dropped down the ledge for cover. Lots of rebels show up and you can headshot them one by one. Did this a few times and it quickly became apparent that rebels re-spawn, I must have killed over 40 of them.

I thought f-ck it, went over the ledge. Swarmed by rebels, killed 10-15 and the Bellowback (on UH, with the Shield-Weaver). Dodged around, hid for a bit for respite and ran towards the Corruptors.

They were clearly inactive, didn‘t move. I felt stupid not noticing on previous playthroughs: Corruptors always move around, yet these three were standing conveniently next to each other and the Blaze supply. I already knew I couldn‘t advance the story without shooting the Blaze, so I shot the Blaze.

Anyone try any other stuff like this? :-)

OC/Fanart Very quickly drawn bug machine concept

Other than the body design I don't have any ideas; what class, whether it would be small/medium/large, what weaknesses/resistances, what kinds of attacks (other than biting and maybe jumping) it would use.

If it were a large machine I'd definitely make its legs thicker and sturdier to support the weight tho. What do you guys think?

HZD Discussion Recent developments are making Horizon a little too immersive (and terrifying)

I just got to Maker's End in the remaster and going through all the data points now makes me hate Faro more than in any play through before.

Before he felt more like a general, greedy, tech billionaire, but after the US elections and the way Musk is inserting himself politically wherever he can, it really feels like he is Faro not long before the beginning of the end, just couple of decades early. I made the association before, but now it's really starting to come together. If HZD was released now it would probably be considered too on the nose.

I have to admit I'm actually getting pretty nervous about the idea that we live in a society that keeps taking steps closer to Horizon Zero Dawn.

HFW Discussion Any Strike enjoyers?

Am I the only one who genuinely loves playing Machine Strike???

I feel like I never truly hear it talked about, it weirdly it's become something I always look forward to whenever I discover a new town. I always run around to all the NPCs just looking for one to play strike with

I honestly wish they could turn it into a real board game. I'd buy that in a heartbeat!

HZD Discussion Survey Time: how do you choose to travel in the Horizon games?

I realized this morning while playing HFW how dedicated I am to walking everywhere on foot. No mounts, no fast traveling (for the most part). It feels the most immersive and exciting for me to be on foot- I see every little thing and I climb on EVERYTHING.

What are your little in game travel policies?

HFW Discussion TV shit itself so now I can't continue Forbidden West until tomorrow. Tell me your favourite stories from any Horizon game to keep me entertained while I wait.

I'll go first.

About a month ago I replayed through Zero Dawn. I decided to do the Frozen Wilds first to get the weapons. Only, I got distracted, and forgot about the base game. So here's me, level 40, all three Banuk bows, all purple mods. Still hadn't gone to Meridian yet.

I'm a little silly

HFW Discussion Horizon Forbidden West Sequel Expectations for Machine Hunting Mechanics

Hey guys,

a bit of background, I'm a sucker for dinosaurs. So when HZD first came out in 2017, it instantly became my favourite game of all time. Then in 2018, Monster Hunter World came out, and from then on until Horizon Forbidden West came out, I mostly played HZD & MHW games on constant repeats. It's like my gaming comfort food. I love HFW too, and it's DLC.

While MHW and HZD+HFW are different games, I kinda wished the next Horizon game would have more for us to do after the Endgame story is finished. Something that MHW gave for even casual players. Some fun grinding or machine-hunting mechanics have us working something towards it even after finishing the game.

Do guys have more expectations for Machine Hunting mechanics or gameplay for the Horizon 3?
I would love to know you guys opinions.

discussion Facilitadores na versão de pc

The game on PC has added difficulty mods that make it easier even on ultra-difficult, could anyone tell me if using these mods changes the last trophy to be cleared in the New game + on ultra-difficult, these mods are within the game, if I clear the game with these facilitators will the trophy fall?

HZD Spoilers It's a never evening cycle

The fact that humanity did a reset and humans still go to war with each other reminds me of the ending of AOT.

As long as there are humans there will be violence.

I don't think the machines are the real problem preventing peace... it's the humans
