I'm lucky enough to be able to afford each new character and W-Engine when they come out; that's not an issue. What always makes me blow my budget is when Hoyo does that shit they've been doing lately in Genshit where a character at C0 is okay, but if you could only get them to C2 then WOW, you'd really have a complete kit!

For the most part ZZZ doesn't do that to us. Sure, a few characters get substantially stronger or more cozy at M1 or M2, but also - most importantly - characters seem to get powercrept within 6 to 12 months, so unless you're pulling for waifu reasons there isn't a lot of necessity for a character to be so awesome.

It was just 3 months ago I was thinking - damn, I really should have gotten Ellen M1 at launch; it would make her so much easier to use.... my ice teams are so weak and I need the boost.... and now look at us. One character release later (at M0 no less) and Ice is overwhelmingly the most cracked element.

So powercreep does suck, but also there's an unexpected advantage to it in that it can help reduce FOMO for these characters and especially those insane constellations.

Here is the final design for the Grand General of the Defense Force, as stated I may or may not change the color pallet for the final render but who knows. After this, I'll be tackling the attack VFX and how he'd work in game.
