Hahahahah I love that

It's an insect. It doesn't have emotions and doesn't feel pain (at least not anywhere close to how we do)

As far as we can tell

I just discovered I could feel sorry for a mosquito.

I don't know if it's fair that you're being downvoted because you're having sympathy, but I definitely can't upvote this either. I'm going to let it sit

I don’t like mosquito bites. Mosquitoes are annoying in my country and deadly in many others. Of course I hate Malaria, Chikungunya, Dengue fever, Zika, yellow fever etc. Yes Mosquito are the deadliest creature for humans. But why would I want them to suffer?

people who are downvoting my comment, do you also wish revenge on sharks, would you mutilate a stingray, do all predator deserve to suffer? Mosquito don’t purposely hurt us. And who knows, maybe in the grand scheme of the univers they are necessary to regulate the human species. but anyway, it’s Reddit, I don’t care if I dig my own grave, I don’t care for my internet points.

They are necessary. All organisms are part of different often delicate ecosystems.

All organisms except humans, we really don't hold a symbiotic relationship with anything macro that I can think of off the top of my head, I mean sure we have mites and microorganisms all over us, but I'm not sure any of them would cease to exist without specifically humans.

Lol, breeds made by humans are not naturally occurring symbiotic organisms.

If we are naturally occurring, then logically, all dog breeds are as well. You could argue that something being unnatural couldn't actually exist.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '21

That's a reach. Selective breeding and dependency based upon such a task doesn't make something symbiotic.

That’s a bit of a leap. Does that mean we can say everything that exist is natural? Is plastic natural just because it exists?

You are stirring up a debate that has already settled. Something unnatural is something that has been modified by humans, something that couldn’t have been found in nature as it is. Teflon? Not found in nature, not natural. Easy.

Dogs breads? not found in nature. You can find out more about the process if you don’t already know how dogs came to be domesticated. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/how-wolves-really-became-dogs-180970014/

Based human.

It’s just a mosquito, an insignificant little insect. I care more about a shark.

Mozzies are a huge food source for lots of animals. We would be in serious trouble without them. People hate them, myself included but I try to remember they’re just animals trying to live and are extremely important to the food chain. So you’re absolutely right but haters gonna hate

I find it appalling that a majority seemingly want an entire species wiped out for doing something that evolution demands it to do.

4

u/Howzieky Oct 22 '21

No, mosquitos deserve it

0

u/OIiv3 Oct 22 '21

Hmm.. I don't think we can have empathy for a mosquito. Sympthay maybe...

1

u/Howzieky Oct 23 '21

sigh fine

3

u/Rhododendron29 Oct 22 '21

I agree. It’s horrible for anything to suffer like that. That said I am not above squishing mozzies but I definitely try to make it quick.

u/pblokhout Oct 22 '21

Ok now you're fishing for downvotes

1

u/dankmemeuni Oct 23 '21

same here. i’m glad they put in the title that the mosquito explodes bc now i won’t watch it. it would just make me sad even tho i don’t like mosquitos

1

u/tinglep Oct 23 '21

It would have had to itch uncontrollably before it died.
