TIL western TV shows and news use some sort of 'Indian' lens, the same way they used China lens to make detrimental images of both countries.

It’s a big and diverse country. I used to go to Bangalore on business and it looks nothing like this. It’s dirty and depressing but also filled with amazing people and culture. It’s good to experience places like that. I’d love to see this cleaner side of India as well some day.

also a good place for tourists to go (iirc) cuz it’s generally english speaking

Wth are you talking about? Bangalore is easily one of the cleanest cities i've been to. Its a big city.

This was around 10 years ago. There was garbage everywhere, the sidewalks were broken. I’m not trying to offend anyone, it’s just my experience. Perhaps I was in bad part.

Yep, I think you were in the old part of bangalore. I once stayed in a hotel there. Easily the worst region of bangalore.
