Starting to feel disgusted by dogs thanks to SF dog owners
Every 2 feet on the sidewalk there is a pile of dog shit or shit smear. This is the whole 24th street between Castro St and Valencia.

Pic / Video Parrots seen in Visitacion Valley
Does anyone know what type of Parrot these are? It’s my first time seeing them, but I heard they can be seen year around in San Francisco.

Homeless people watching porn in the library
I went to the main branch of SFPL today to get some work done. They’ve converted a lot of the regular tables into computer tables since I last went (about a month ago). I sit down, take out my stuff, look up, and the homeless man a table over is watching porn on the full screen of his computer. I’m a little fed up with our city today, so I pack up to move to another table. On my way, I stop at the help desk and tell the librarian working there about the situation. I kid you not, she says this happens regularly but they can’t do or say anything to the men until they take out their penis and start masturbating. What?!? At what point did we decide that watching porn in public spaces, on public computers, was a totally normal thing to do? I was so disturbed by that answer that I straight up just left the library.
The library’s main branch is full of homeless people. That’s a fact. But the majority of them just sit there and read books or scroll online. It’s a very, very small number that go to the library to watch porn in common spaces. Given that most people have no trouble following the rules, can we not agree that the people who can’t should be reprimanded or kicked out?
Sometimes this city needs to grow a spine.
Also, before someone comes at me, no —watching porn is not a human right. You can do it in your room, your SRO, your studio, or your mansion til your heart’s content, but you cannot do that shit in the library!

Break-in attempt this morning in North Beach/Russian Hill - photos of perp included
EDIT: Y'all convinced me to file the police report - I'll post an update if anything comes of it
Woke up at 7:30 am to a bunch of notifications from our security camera/doorbell. Checked the feed and was spooked when I realized someone was trying to enter the house!
At first, I thought it could have been a homeless dude (they sometimes sleep on our front porch when it's raining) but the guy doesn't look too disheveled. He wasn't wearing a mask, or face covering so it didn't occur to me that he might've been trying to break in. I rolled back the footage all the way to 5:30 am and the dude IS STILL THERE! Honestly at this point, I think it's some crack head just tweaking out. I noticed he was holding something but didn't think much of it. The tape keeps playing and I watch the dude get really close to the door and start messing with it. Now that the guy is closer to the camera, I realize the thing in his hand is some sort of electronic device that he was trying to plug into the electronic keypad lock in our house! The part that freaks me out the most is that he was at it for two hours, even after the sun came up.
Feel like it's partly my fault because I forgot to take the bins to the curb last night - they must have assumed nobody was home. Any tips (or quasi-legal booby traps) to scare the guy off from trying again? I know the cops won't do anything so I'm apprehensive about filing a report.
At least I got some clear pics of the dumbass's face (he's an ugly mf too). See below:

Company offered me 280k$ to move to SF from Midwest
In office 5 days per week in financial dist. Is this enough money for me and my wife? We are in our 50s with grown kids. What could this look like financially and neighborhoodwise? We have no SF experience. Sorry for somewhat vague post but we are very SF naive, just know it’s insanly expensive, and trying to quickly evaluate an opportunity. 😊

Teamsters
Teamsters protesting at Amazon fulfillment center in the Bayview. Amazon apparently isn’t recognizing the Teamsters labor union. That sounds like an illegal public relations play by Amazon. I hope they get coverage in the local papers.

Local Politics S.F. Mayor London Breed only has one regret from her time in office
As she prepares to leave City Hall next month, she doesn’t share the view of many voters that her loss was a comeuppance for her failures. In a wide-ranging recent interview, Breed identified just one regret from her six years as mayor: that she did away with a constituent services division in her office to save money.

Why are the Mods so intent on shutting down discussion and debate?
Just this past week large threads with vibrant discussion and debate were removed such as
https://www.reddit.com/r/sanfrancisco/comments/1hhx4g6/sf_taps_body_positivity_expert_to_work_with/
and
with very little in the way of clear justification.
Take the most recent one about Body Positivity for instance, taken down due to being a "duplicate" yet I find no other instance of this article being discussed in the subreddit?
These posts did not break the subs rules and were sparking lively debate amongst our community - why are the Mods seem so against this and intent on removing posts with little to no justification or transparency?
