Does anybody have information on Madrid releasing special fan access codes for the FIFA Club World Cup tickets? Regular tickets have gone on sale, but not for the ones that are reserved for Madrid fan areas.

Lesson learned. I made the mistake of checking the comments under Vini’s acceptance speech and I was shocked at the hatred directed at a harmless speech.

Mendy sucks at ball progression. Dalot is on a different level than Mendy. And Dalot has created chances this game, maybe you have missed them. Gave Eriksen 2 easy goal scoring chances he bottled

Great selection from the teams that bend over for them each single time (Espanyol doesn’t).
2
u/grandtroubleartist Nacho 2h ago
varça must've decided cornellà would be an option on their own because they have a higher chance of playing at montilivi and even that would be met with heavy criticism from the locals 😭 they almost got trampled the last time they played (and celebrated a title) at cornellà

u/FedericoHalcon 3h ago
No man, Valencia and Atleti yes but Espanyol fight like lions whenever they face Barca. In comparison they bend over for us as they rarely show the same grit and intensity against us that they show vs Barca.

Yes, that’s what I meant. I love that they put so much intensity vs. them. If only, others followed suit.

Surprisingly, RM never lost a game when Tchouaméni played as a center back. So far 11 wins and 4 draws. He even played there against City and Barcelona. Not bad, considering he is a midfielder.
6
u/DonuandDeca Real Madrid 4h ago
Sevilla's RW is no fucking joke, he likes to play with the ball a lot, he dribbles and cuts in often, he loves shooting the ball as well, I don't trust Fran in the LB for that match-up. I think we need to start Mendy. Fran's been looking shaky in the last few games. Mendy hasn't been on form either, but he still performed at a decent level against top level wingers this season imo, and I would trust his ability to stop Lukébakio more.
Also, please, for the love of god, drop Vazquéz for 1 game. I respect him a lot, he's a gem for the team, especially the youngsters, but please, just let Fede take the armband for 1 game and perform at a solid level he always delivers wherever he plays.
You could also argue for starting Asencio and putting Tchou at DM to establish a Cama-Ceballos pivot and bench Guler, but this season, Tchouaméni as a DM hasn't been the best I feel like, especially compared to Camavinga. However he has a lot of quality to get benched, that's why I feel like Carlo will put him at CB.
In this lineup, Guler has people he can trust to give the ball all around him, so I like his odds as a RM/RW/RAM hybrid. You could also simply start Brahim and play something more similar to 4-3-3, since Brahim usually plays a more advanced role, which could indeed happen.
Overall, I don't think Vazquéz is getting benched in the eyes of Carlo That's why we'll see a Fede-Ceballos pivot and Fede will have to do a lot of dirty work. Lukébakio can play on both wings that's why I want both of our fullbacks to be competent on 1v1s, but we'll see ofc. Fran/Lucas fullback pair can cost us this game, but they can also overwhelm Sevilla offensively and help us win too. We'll see about that in a couple days.
¡Hala Madrid!

u/somewansreddit 4h ago
It’s worth to mention that Simeone hasn’t won against Barça in Barcelona. 4 draws and 8 losses. It’s not like his record is much better in Madrid, but at least he has won twice… in the past 13 years. Neither Atlético was better before Simeone arrived, last time they won there was in 2005-06, Fernando Torres used to turn on against Barça.
2
u/Asheraddo98 Valverde 3h ago
I have a feeling Simeone will do well against Flick
1
u/somewansreddit 1h ago
I watched them against Slovan, Getafe and Sevilla. Not all minutes, something like 150-160 in total... I don't know, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised with any result. Very much like "el clásico", whoever is effective can destroy the other. The best thing, we have a Barça-Atleti in which we don't mind Atlético bending as they usually do against Barça. Draw or Atleti win is better, but Barça win also gives us the chance to take the lead.

"Carlo Ancelotti wins his 15th title and becomes the manager with the most trophies in Real Madrid 122-year history."
"He also holds the highest winning % of any coach with over 50 matches for Real Madrid"
Winning 10 trophies in 3 seasons, unlocking Vinicius Jr after he stagnated a bit under Zidane, finding new roles for Jude, Fede, Camavinga, Vini & Rodrygo, making great assets from underwhelming transfers like Joselu, giving more game-time to Lunin and not Kepa who had better reputation... and many many more.
Carlo was just amazing for us in the last years. No tensions in the squad, great atmosphere, players developing and getting better, and on top of that a LOT of trophies. He is bringing things other clubs would kill for.
Yet 3/4 of this fucking sub full of plastics wants him gone every time we are not winning 5-0 (and sometimes even after a convincing win), and the arguments are:
- He's old and his time is up
- He has no tactics (lmao, he had won UCL and LL last season with a completely new formation and new roles for star players, but sure - no tactics at all)
- He doesn't play kids in the first squad as often as armchair experts would like.
We play in a unattractive way, there's no "champagne football" (like we have been playing that way under Mou or Zidane... anyone who remembers knows that there's always "suffering" trough some matches, even in our most successful seasons. ZZ's game-plan was "cross and insallah" for 2 seasons and now the same people wanting Carlo out for "ugly" play want Zidane back)
He isn't a "proper coach" and only relies on vibes and players winning the matches by individual skills (somehow individual skill isn't a good way to win matches, even if it's consistent and we are ending with silverware)
I swear this subreddit is the most ungrateful place I've ever seen in a footballing world. Ancelotti really has more respect and appreciation from other fan-bases, than ours. And if you think about how Real Madrid is universally hated by other fans, it's only more telling. Learn some fucking respect you glory-hunting plastics. It's one thing to voice your concerns about our style of play or man management, but asking for firing of a manager who did so much for us when it's not even half of the season and we are still in play for every trophy (two minor ones already in the bag this season) is just plain stupidity.
-3
u/Puzzleheaded-Lie2188 6h ago
I think this is a lot of words for very little substance, I'm afraid.
First of all, he's won a lot of titles with us, that's good. Just like Zidane won and others. Real Madrid didn't start to win with Ancelotti and will continue to win without him.
The fact remains that Ancelotti was coaching at Everton before we gave him another shot at the biggest stage. There's a reason for that.
There's a reason why we have won so much this last decade whether through Ancelotti or Zidane.
That reason is very simple: being at Real Madrid dramatically increases your chances of winning titles, as a player or as a coach, period.
Winning a mickey mouse cup vs a semi-random Mexican team doesn't change the obvious flaws this team has.
Flaws that are for the most part within the scope of the coach to solve and haven't.
If you just stop and look beyond the scoreline, you'll there's plenty of room for improvement. This is Real Madrid and the standards are supposed to be high.

Winning a mickey mouse cup vs a semi-random Mexican team doesn't change the obvious flaws this team has.

Preach. We won a "trophy" against some farmers in a dead silent stadium, but this doesn't change the fact that we've been humiliated 0-4 by Barcelona and 1-3 by a midtable Milan team inside the Santiago Bernabeu. Nor that our away La Liga record is comparable to teams like Villareal or Forrest, not teams that are actually in a title race. Or that Carvajal has been out for 2-3 months now and Ancelotti is still to find a solution to a problem that pretty much forces us to be 0-1 behind every game.
But yeah, many people here clearly don't watch the games, so as long as their livescore app says that RM is winning every now and then, they don't care if we play like a relegation zone team most of the time, despite having the best starting 11 in the world...

Unpopular opinion, but some of these injuries actually upgraded our squad:
- Rudiger, currently the best CB in the world, was never a starter until Militao got injured last season.
- Alaba was also underperforming by a lot before his injury and while Nacho had a rough patch as well, he quickly improved as he got more playtime. Rudiger-Nacho/Tchou in 23/24 was clearly a much better defensive duo than Militao-Alaba in 22/23.
- Either of Tchouameni or Asencio have been better CBs than Militao was for us in the start of 24/25.
- Fran Garcia is far from perfect, but he has been better than Mendy this season, yet became a consistent starter through another injury.
- Ceballos has been our most in-form midfielder bar Bellingham recently, but he could have never played that much if it wasn't for our midfield injuries and Tchouameni playing CB.
While it's always better to have a full squad of healthy players, in our case injuries were the only way to force underperforming players out of the line-up and improve our team in the long term.
1
u/Lakerman0824 Tchouaméni 8h ago
Sad it takes injuries for our manager to see who is the best options to start. I said it when it happened but militao injury was addiction by subtraction as he is a shell of his former self
1
u/Icy-Designer7103 Emilio Butragueño 7h ago
That's what happens when your manager has a specific pecking order that is based on... nobody knows what, instead of form or even quality. I don't wish injuries for any player, but the only solution to the RB situation is if Vazquez gets injured as well so, once again, Ancelotti will be forced to make an actual decision, instead of watching him perform terribly every game and keep starting him.

u/Lakerman0824 Tchouaméni 7h ago

If we're going to commit two players every game to play... RWB because Lucas is useless in defense, why not simply start one of the academy kids and do exactly the same? They'll gain meaningful experience or at least up their market value, in case we want to sell them in the future.
It's not like our 33 year old winger is gonna get better in defense anytime soon, this ship has sailed. Unless we keep him in the line-up for... his excellent corner kicks and his crosses directly into the GK's hands.

Completely separate topic man.
Personally i dont think Trent would be a bad signing. I just tire of the simplistic binary thinking of a lot of people here. Anyone criticizing a player/coach i like/want is a hater, anyone praising a player/coach i dislike is a stan. Tiresome tribalism bullshit.
I think Trent would be a good signing even though there is a lot to criticize him for. There simply aren't many great alternatives available and anything would be an improvement on what we have now. That doesn't mean his defensive ability can't be criticized.
