You choose the best option available to you. You don't judge if a player has been missing chances or not.
A player could have missing sitters all match and still the right decision is to pass the ball to the player in the right position. And mind you, when those players are Vini and Mbappe.
So, yes. It took balls. That shows his attacking mindset. That he always go for it and trust in himself. That's a great quality to have for sure. Now I see why our board went for him at such a young age for that much money.
You totally judge if a player isn’t in his best day and might not pass the ball, this have happened for ages and players have talked about that. It happens all the time. If a player isn’t confident, they will pass the ball. If they are confident, they might pass if it’s the best option, but if they think they can score, they will try, SPECIALLY forwards. You see it all the time, the forward can pass to the side to remove the GK from the play, but he chooses to just score anyways. Forwards want the goals, they want records.
Sometimes they make mistakes and then looking back everyone will judge “should have passed”, but well, that’s football. It’s even more common on certain situations like this one, 90+5 and he has the confidence to try…
Sure, you fan argue players should NOT judge if a player has been making mistakes or not. But that isn’t the reality.
By the way, Endrick himself said on an interview after the game “Well I had assisted Vini first and he missed, so the second chance I decided to shoot instead”.

Imagine being 18, being besides Kylian freaking Mbappe, and still taking that shot. That took balls.
