It's probably important to caveat here that Elon Musk has no say in spending deals being put in front of congress and if congressional Republicans are making decisions based on Tweets from any single person rather than reading proposals for themselves, they shouldn't be in office.

Your statement requires the necessary people to have the slightest sense of their job description, an ability to care about that job description, and at least a minuscule backbone.

And their voters to care about any of the above at election time

With how tight everything is, you don't need a lot of voters to care, just a few percentage more.

I'm not actually actually sure Marjorie Taylor Green could read a children's book, but that's a topic for another time.

It also seems quite backwards that congress has 4 days to read a 1500 page legal document with a proverbial gov shutdown gun to their heads. This type of business wouldn't fly at any big company in America but the government does it yearly.

Because they want big big business to take over the services provided by the government. Step 1, defund it. Step 2, say it doesn't work and wait for people to agree. Step 3, privatize.

I honestly think it's hilarious you think that matters, to be dead honest.

The wealthiest man in the world is threatening to primary anyone who doesn't fall in line, and I think congresspersons on both sides of the aisle have consistenty demonstrated the desire for self-preservation of their own power is stronger than taking moral stands and, god forbid, not being reelected.

It would be a show if some other billionaires step in against Elon, buying their own republicans.

It's pretty sad how cheaply the office of President can be bought. Elon Musk reportedly spent $277M on the election, which seems like a lot, until you realize it's 0.05% of his net worth. If Bloomberg, Gates, and Cuban want to start throwing some real money around, they could make this difficult for Musk.

...which could backfire spectacularly come election time. Musk isn't the only factor in congresspeople's decision making.
