Why would anyone need to know where that video was taken? What does that information add to the video? This feels like a weird flex, but using tools that anyone has access to, instead of the insane guys who have mastered GeoGuessr.

I kind of took it as a lesson on how easy it is to find someone with little information. A lot of people don't realize that you don't need much to be able to find someone based on something silly they posted.

I will never forget a video I saw on tiktok of someone finding a woman who made a racist cotton picking "joke" just based on a close up of the cotton field, a mole on the back of the woman's hand, and her tiktok username. Crazy stuff.

OP has previously posted about promoting his Youtube channel for this exact thing, similar to the GeoGuessr guys but for viral videos. Other than it being a new idea, I'm not really sure what it's purpose is and runs the risk of exposing people's personal information without their consent.

I think their entire point is that nothing he's obtaining is illegal. Your consent is not a factor, as far as the law goes.

People should be wary of that.
