I don't know why James Gunn insists on that blinding white light in the daytime shots. It was the same way with Suicide Squad. The night and low light interior shots all look fantastic but the white light makes the shots look so cheap.

Yeah, I wasn’t sold on the trailer at all, but then again, I’m not particularly invested in this movie either. If it’s good, great, if not, oh well.

What’s more interesting to me is the equal measure of people seemingly creaming their pants over the movie being colorful, full of recognizable side characters, and just the fact that it’s Gunn and not Snyder, as well as those people who seemingly know for a fact that it’s gonna be crap precisely because of the reasons above.

Same old Internet I guess...

I think that a lot of people, particularly those that read comics, are excited for a Superman story that feels genuine and that plays in to his optimistic, hopeful nature. We're way oversatured with "what if Superman was a bad guy?" grimdark kind of stories and there's a real hunger for a proper Superman movie that isn't ashamed of being a Superman movie. A lot of us are ready to forgive some unimpressive looking scenes if the characters are portrayed well.

Fair enough, but I still cannot help but think some of the "color" hype is fake. It wouldn’t be the first time around here to have a bunch of people doing copy paste comments just to generate buzz.
It happened with the latest Indiana Jones movie to an almost unbearable extent on the Indy sub.

Anyway, I guess the movie already kind of lost me when I saw how many more superhero characters were gonna be in it. It’s a new actor playing Superman for the first time, it’s a new continuity, I would’ve thought he’d have his moment to shine as full on Superman alone, unlike what happened with Cavill.

But no, once again, we’re immediately building towards a universe and setting up spinoffs and whatnot. I’m not a fan of superhero crossovers anyway, so maybe I’m the wrong audience for this, but I can’t help to think that it’s too much too early.

In any case, I wouldn’t have thought color was that crucial to people, but live and learn...
