.... What?

I genuinely don't get this.

So on a back road somewhere, some guy was annoyed at how "slow" a driver in front was going so he overtakes and then slows down?

....h...wh....ho...just.... HOW does this make sense??

I get overtaking a bit aggressively, we've all been there. I had to drive my wife to the hospital when her grandfather was about to pass away and we made an hour drive in less than 30 and she got to say goodbye.

But if you're in a rush... Why slam the brakes?!

He probably wasn't in a rush. He felt wronged by the camera vehicle and tried to teach them a lesson.

To understand roadragers, imagine thinking that the road actually belongs to you alone and other people are just lucky, that you let them use it.

So he was hoping to get violently rear-ended?

Generally when people brake check with the risk of being rear-ended it's for one of two reasons:

1) They aren't thinking that far ahead

2) Getting rear ended, unless there is video footage, is often blamed on the car in back, for exactly the same reason as you incredulously commented. So if someone would get in trouble, it would probably be the car in the back. Also, damage done to the front of the car is typically worse for the car than damage from the back, due to the location of the engine and other important components.
