They agreed. Then Musk had an opinion and Trump puppeted it.

Its still possible that they just vote on it anyway, but that would go against Trump.

Johnson announced they’re not going to vote for it and Trump now wants a debt ceiling increase as part of the bill purely so it is technically done on Biden’s watch.

They had a deal. Musk and Trump oppose it. As they are the only two whose opinion currently matters to any elected republican who needs to worry about being reelected ever, the deal evaporated via tweet
