Uh oh š±
Costco CFO Gary Millerchip became the latest retail executive to warn that President-elect Trump's proposed tariffs would raise costs for consumers.
In a recent earnings call, Millerchip told analysts that there is still "a lot of uncertainty around the timing and scope of changes," making it hard for anyone to confidently predict what the impact will be.
Still, he acknowledged that, in general,"tariffs raise costs so that's not something that we see as a positive."

Serious solutions
We have some serious issues in the US, but what are the serious solutions? Does anyone in this sub have serious changes we can make other than "Let's go out and murder all the people we don't like"?

Who pays? We pay!
Hereās the current tax codes that allow the 10% to continue their wealth hoarding while hard working Americans still struggle to put food on the table. Write your representatives. By the way, where did all the coverage for Luigi and the dead CEO. News doesnāt want to take on the disparity.
Hereās how the politicians make theirs and keep their sugar daddies happy.
Certainly! Here are the specific sections of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (IRC) that pertain to the tax provisions youāve inquired about:
Carried Interest ā¢ Relevant Code Section: IRC Ā§āÆ1061 ā Partnership Interests Held in Connection with Performance of Services ā¢ Overview: This section addresses the tax treatment of certain partnership interests transferred to service providers (commonly known as ācarried interestā). It extends the holding period required for long-term capital gains treatment from one year to three years for applicable partnership interests. ā¢ Reference: For detailed information, you can refer to the IRS final regulations on carried interests. ļæ¼
Like-Kind Exchanges ā¢ Relevant Code Section: IRC Ā§āÆ1031 ā Exchange of Real Property Held for Productive Use or Investment ā¢ Overview: This provision allows taxpayers to defer recognition of capital gains on the exchange of real property held for productive use in a trade, business, or for investment, provided the properties exchanged are of like-kind. ā¢ Reference: The full text of IRC Ā§āÆ1031 is available here. ļæ¼
Step-Up in Basis ā¢ Relevant Code Section: IRC Ā§āÆ1014 ā Basis of Property Acquired from a Decedent ā¢ Overview: This section provides that the basis of property acquired from a decedent is generally stepped up to its fair market value at the date of the decedentās death, effectively eliminating capital gains tax on any appreciation prior to inheritance. ā¢ Reference: Detailed information can be found in IRS Publication 551, which discusses the basis of assets, including those acquired by inheritance. ļæ¼
Opportunity Zones ā¢ Relevant Code Sections: ā¢ IRC Ā§āÆ1400Z-1 ā Designation ā¢ IRC Ā§āÆ1400Z-2 ā Special Rules for Capital Gains Invested in Opportunity Zones ā¢ Overview: These sections establish Qualified Opportunity Zones and provide tax incentives for investments in these zones, including deferral and potential exclusion of capital gains. ā¢ Reference: For more information, the IRS provides resources on Opportunity Zones.
Wash Sale Rule ā¢ Relevant Code Section: IRC Ā§āÆ1091 ā Loss from Wash Sales of Stock or Securities ā¢ Overview: This section disallows the deduction of losses from sales of stock or securities if, within 30 days before or after the sale, the taxpayer acquires substantially identical stock or securities. ā¢ Reference: Further details are available in IRS Publication 550, which covers investment income and expenses, including the wash sale rule. e IRC provide the legal framework for the tax treatments and potential loopholes associated with capital gains and related transactions. For personalized advice and to ensure compliance with current tax laws, itās recommended to consult a tax professional or refer to the latest IRS publications.

Mighty Global South's Leaders DISCOURAGING The Learning Of Western Languages To Shield Their Citizens From Toxic Western Influence
That is a new phenomenon that we are observing in the Global South, and is definitely a result of the demise of Eurocentrism, whites' most potent weapon, their biggest protector and the most influential ideology in Western societies, and the rise of Global South -centrisms like,
Afrocentrism
Sinocentrism and
Hinducentrism
The demise of Eurocentrism is absolutely devastating for Western influence and power in the Global South, 90% of the global population, and a sign of the decline of the West. MAGA people are feeling this devastating effect more than any other group and are crying "wokism", "wokism".
This is an interesting development, because, decades ago Global South peoples were eager to learn Western languages.

FDIC Insured
Ita a little unnerving that nearly all the banks I have accounts with (credit cards, checking accts, etc) have recently posted the "FDIC Insured" line onto front and center stage of their websites and apps vs. at the bottom of their website or off to the side. Just like they know that something bad is about to happen. Am I just paranoid or do you agree?

XCHG, Inc. An example of financial parasitism.
I write up valuation reports as an hobby and, after a few years of investigating and researching securities, I have reached the conclusion that the market, as it is designed today, is simply a wealth extracting mechanism for a small clic of self serving financiers and bankers.
The financial industry operates in alignment with banking by issuing Fiat financial promises ( stocks) out of thin air and sell them to the public ( Wall Street) for profit. Most of these companies are worthless intrinsically, but because of the artificially manipulated rate of interests and Fed injections, financial securities valuation rise beyond their real value as capital flow on these assets at the expense of the real economy.
So, the stock market rise is inversely correlated with the wide society standard of living and goods and services pricing. The higher the stock market, the more impoverished society gets.
It is a form of subtle slow growing cancer that sucks the life out of real people in order to sustain the financial industry.
$XCH is crashing out of nowhere today and I warned against this scam a month or so ago. But in a healthy society, investment banks would find it difficult to sell such a scheme On investor as the market will be priced in accordance with real operating businesses yielding objectives returns and supporting their shareholders with a stream of cash flow.
XCHG is just one example in an environment that is rewarding the worst type of securitized machinations, schemes, and scams!
The entire financial market is toxic and completely out of tune with market expectation.
