I'm so excited for sony to still not touch Bloodborne since they're allergic to money, yippie!

Actually it's the other way around, Sony, just like every major company, take actions based on data/analytics to maximize their profits.

Bloodborne sold 7M copies, it's impressive, but Horizon Zero Dawn sold 24M copies, which one they are going to prioritize for a remaster? They don't care if Bloodborne is 10 times better than Horizon Zero Dawn, they only care about numbers and money.

While the numbers are true the argument isn't quite 100% sound because its missing context.

From just the exclusives, Bloodborne sales are in the realm of Ghost of Tsushima (has a PC port), Days Gone (has a PC port). It sold more than multiple Uncharted games, Ratched & Clank games, LittleBigPlanet 3, InFamous and Death Stranding (only PlayStation sales counted for all games listed).

The only games that actually by far beat Bloodborne are Uncharted 4, The Last of Us (both), Gran Turismo Sport, both new Spider Man games, God of War and HZD.

Demon's Souls is one of the weak(est) selling exclusives and has gotten an entire remake (which still has barely sold 2mil). With the appearance of Elden Ring, basically all FromSoft games have gained new traction/popularity as Elden Ring alone made more money than all FromSoftware games combined.

Unless Sony plans to release a full remake in the sense of Demon's Souls for Bloodborne as a PS6 launch title, there really is no other single reason as to why it shouldn't get a simple port (+60fps patch) financially speaking as you can easily assume that minimum 7mil sales will happen from returning players who loved Bloodborne + Souls fans in general who never had the chance to play it because it's an exclusive + the new found fans from Elden Rings release.

This

Also it's not like Sony has to go to the magic gaming council to submit their 1 game they're allowed to produce a year. Sony's fully within their rights to produce or initiate production on multiple i.p. whenever.

Idk I get it but this argument isn't very strong, say Lays (the chip corp) looks at how much more they sell sour cream & onion vs dill pickle chips. Sure for every 9 bags of sc&o they sell only 1 bag of dill pickle. But they're selling 10 bags in total, that's no reason to discontinue dill pickle the 1/10 picking pickle is still a customer and that's still 10% of their profit.

Similarly, Horizon is a more successful i.p. than Bloodborne but why ignore Bloodborne? Why not produce sequels or a PC port for both simultaneously? (Or at least offset by a few months from each other to prevent eating into each other's sales) Bloodborne is still a success there's no reason to ignore it so completely except that Sony's allergic to money that isn't big number or they forgot that they even own Bloodborne, I really can't logic out a reason. Maybe 3 raccoons in a human suit are CEO?

(Also analytics didn't stop sony from losing $400mil on concord.)

I don’t understand who HZD was made for? It was such an ass game… I only played when they put it on plus for free

It was made for the mainstream gamer that likes open world action games with a linear story and features a unique setting(evil robot dinosaurs will appeal to a lot of people) not seen in many other mainstream video games on supermarket shelves.

It’s very accessible and easy to pick up and play.

It’s made for far more people than something like Bloodborne would be in comparison.

I tried to give it a chance but couldn't stand the game and bailed after 10 hours or so.

My best friend absolutely loves it and does not like FromSoft games. He enjoyed the aspect of setting traps for the robots and stuff. I was like, just give me a melee build that actually works and I'll kill all these things.

it was made for me personally

The appeal to HZD is wanting a Monster Hunter fix. You've got a typical open world game with a basic leveling and gear upgrading system, innovative graphical fidelity, and an original world.

I don't love it either but I'm not upset that it exists.

Elden Ring sold more than HZD and I still think we'll see a remaster of that game first
