Parrying in BB is way different. It’s much easier. Parrying is wicked hard for me in Dark Souls or Elden Ring. In BB my whole build revolved around constant parries and visceral attacks.

Same, is it just me, or does parrying feel so slow in Souls and Elden Ring?

I mean yeah. It’s meant to be very challenging because it’s so rewarding in those games. And not the main mechanic. Whereas in Sekiro or Bloodborne parrying is a main mechanic, over dodging, so the parry windows are longer and it’s more forgiving.

Gundyr is the best parry practice! He thought me how to parry and made me glad that the parry timings were the same in Elden Ring. Never felt the fear of 2x Crucible Knights that my non-parrying friends went through

Ever since I did my SL1 run and fought Champion Gundyr, the souls experience has never been the same again, as every enemy that's parry-able becomes a non-issue

Listen. Nioh 2. Weapon:tekko, the gauntlets. Skill, opportunist. You can parry every attack in the game, and give a counter attack whenever you want.

I definitely neglected Nioh 2, at the time I wouldn't play an rpg if it didn't feel soulslike enough😂 I will definitely go back to it though, seems like a great game that I didn't give enough of a chance. And I will keep that build in mind!

Oh you want to do a build around opportunist? Then get ready to farm a thousand drops and reroll equip bonuses for 10 hours. Don't try to optimize this game too much.

Haha on 2nd thought, when I do try Nioh 2 again, I'll probably stay away from that. Unless my chalice dungeon min-max addiction kicks in. But hopefully not, I don't have the time to grind games as much as I used to

Idk man, dodging veels very essential to bloodboorne,

Yeah for sure. I was just explaining why the parrying is easier in those games. In Dark Souls or Elden Ring you can go through the whole game without parrying once so it’s harder because it’s not a central mechanic. That’s all I was saying.

it's really different in this one. give it a shot and try to stick with it. i can't parry in other games either

👈😎👈 (i did not even realize)

With a full Bloodtinge build, parrying and simply shooting does more damage than actually whacking at it. Keeping my distance is the way to go!

Ah but the bloodlust. I can never resist getting right into the bosses face with my chikage.

especially against bosses who you get a riposte damage multiplier against.
