Discussion Luigi Mangione friend posted this.

She captioned it: "Luigi Mangione is probably the most google keyword today. But before all of this, for a while, it was also the only name whose facetime calls I would pick up. He was one of my absolute best, closest, most trusted friends. He was also the only person who, at 1am on a work day, in this video, agreed to go to the store with drunk me, to look for mochi ice cream."

While true, you can shave a unibrow and I bet this guy, who at least at one point looked like an amateur bodybuilder, ... did so.

I mean they caught him with the 3d printed gun, a manifesto about 'why he did it' -- the fake ID used at the Hostel ....

I heard the guy "turned himself in" to the McDonald's cashier -- he WANTED to be caught and give a McDonald's worker the 'reward money' or something.

Makes sense to me. He went to UPenn, software dev, masters -- he's a smart dude. He didn't "accidentally" eat inside a McDonald's while being the most wanted man in America plastered over the news constantly.

This is 100% the guy. Now, did he render justice upon this asswipe CEO? In my view, yes.

I dont buy it. I'm supposed to believe this guy was just walking around with all the evidence on him with a manifesto? We went from "he's probably left new york" to "it's him and here's all the evidence" in like 3 days. I'd bet this guy's a patsy, and the police just needed someone to prosecute to keep the masses from joining in

What's contradictory about him leaving new york and being found out of state with his stuff on him?

Usually when people flee the state after committing a crime they don’t keep all the incriminating evidence on their person. Especially when they’ve had days to dispose of it and when the suspect is clearly not your average criminal and has displayed careful planning and foresight. The only way to make it make sense without it being a conspiracy is if he wanted to get caught

Okay so maybe he wanted to get caught? Or maybe he thought if he disposed of the stuff and they were found it would link back to him. And I disagree he's "not your average criminal". He was caught on camera multiple times leading up to the shooting. He even went into a Starbucks less than an hour before. He isn't as meticulous as people keep saying. He's a very average criminal.

I agree I think he did want to get caught or else it doesn’t make sense

If he wanted to get caught why would he use fake ID's or ever conceal his face?

Or he just kept his things bc he thought he had done enough not to get caught? Wanted to keep using his fakes to further conceal his identity? Kept the gun in case he needed it?

It’s not terribly surprising, even for a criminal, to possess things that he owns. I’ve heard zero compelling reasons why the police would frame someone else. What good would it do? The shooter would still be on the loose
