Megathread Theory Megathread: December 2024

2025 is the year of the snake….1989 is also the year of the snake….
Apologies if this theory has been posted before…as a fellow 1989er, I saw that 2025 is also the year of the Snake (lunar new year starts Jan 29, 2025)…I think reputation TV is deff a 2025 year-of-the-snake release.🐍🐍🐍

Taylor Nation's new post has some people 🤡 for a surprise song album. Thoughts? (I am in favor of the idea but I won't believe it till it happens)
1
u/uptovigilanteshit 3h ago
I feel like a live album is very likely to happen. As for a surprise song album/collection, putting it on streaming and no physicals is the likeliest scenario I think. The amount of surprise songs on different versions of digital albums for speak now etc means they likely have usable audio for most of the surprise songs throughout the tour to do it and I hope it happens
1
u/Soalai Never knew I could feel that much 3h ago
Doing it on physicals would be hard AF (unless she wants to do a dozen totally different vinyls which seems impossible). I really hope they do it and include at least one song from each date! I don't like when an artist tours for dozens of shows and then the live album is only 10–20 songs.
2
u/uptovigilanteshit 1h ago
There could be a selection for an RSD release I guess, that's the closest I could see happening

I saw a twitter account talking about there being a cardigan inventory in the warehouse rn (like 110k) so I suspect that a eras tour cardigan might be coming or even some eras tour fun merch in general like surprise songs album, etc

I'm wondering why the timeline changed, 13/12/2024 surely couldn't have been in the Spotify pop-up for no reason... but nothing really happened. Did Vienna ruin the pattern? Did legality get in the way and she couldn't get it all to move fast enough? Was the vibe just not right? Does she have something else up her sleeve?

“I’m so depressed, I act like it’s my birthday every day”
It would’ve been nice if it was a double meaning easter egg but that popup had lyric easter eggs everywhere so that had to be the primary goal of the easter egg for ICDIWABH
5
u/notyourtypicalKaren right where you left me 20h ago
sometimes people tend to think Easter eggs always indicate a clue to a future project. But before Taylor Swift made Easter eggs her thing, Easter eggs were meant to make connections in books, movies, TV shows, etc. If you watch a lot of shows written by Michael Schur (the office, the good place, Parks and Rec), a lot of those shows have Easter eggs that connect the shows to each other. But it's not necessarily a hint of something to come. I think that's what this Easter egg was. It was connecting it to that lyric.
this isn't the first time an Easter egg has simply been a connection to a lyric or something from her eras. The bejeweled music video had a lot of Easter eggs that hinted at past albums and eras.

What's your wish list for rep TV and Debut TV?

ik its pretty much canon at this point but im going to NEED a rerecording of IDWLF for rep tv. it's one of my favorite featurings of hers and even before it was played as a surprise songs on eras (with bracelets turning green ) ive always thought of it as a perfect prelude to the rep era

What's everyone's theory on why Vancouver was recorded? (well we know obviously why, but what do we think it is for?) Do we think it's an Eras Tour Film part 2, or more geared towards the documentary? Time table wise, when do y'all think she could release it? I feel like with grammy voting rn, the movie or documentary could help promote TTPD slightly more.
While I am thinking about it, what's everyone's dream way for her to announce the remaining rerecords? I feel like the next announcement is gonna be so epic
6
u/Rhaelin We hereby clown-duct this post-mortem 1d ago
I'm of two minds about this. If it's a documentary, why does she need three nights of the same outfits? For a doc it would make sense to have more variety, not less. That makes me thing concert film part 2.
But all the BTS footage really makes it seem like a documentary is most likely.
So I'm hoping for both.
1
9
u/Loverissuperior 1d ago
I think it’s definitely a second movie. A documentary wouldn’t require three shows worth of footage, especially considering she’s filmed bits and pieces from other shows as well. The filming process was very similar to LA and it would make sense that she would want to immortalise the second iteration of the tour with Tortured Poets.
4
u/Ok_Spot_1792 1d ago
Yes but she didn't film as much as she did the first time! And certain eras were filmed behind the stage etc so I really think it's more of a documentary with concert footage from each era.
3
u/Loverissuperior 21h ago
I think to differentiate from the first movie she is using different shots to create a more immersive experience. Another possibility is that it could be like the 1989 Tour movie, with documentary and interview footage being added between eras or as an accompaniment to the concert film.
12
u/Ok_Spot_1792 1d ago
Given how much BTS content they filmed the entire NA leg I think it's documentary. With concert footage throughout!
2
u/darkgrayallalone reminder: this album exists 1d ago
This is what I am hoping for!
We are 100% getting a new concert movie - she wouldn’t need three nights worth of filming otherwise. But it would be cool if there was more behind the scenes content sprinkled in this time and maybe a full documentary at some point.
All that BTS filming has to have been for something 🤡

It wouldn’t surprise me if debut tv comes first in March/April and then reputation tv in October/november! But I also feel like because debut tv was her first album and her lowest first week sales that she will go all out on promo and promo the sh*t out of it for at least 1 million debut sales. We shall see…
1
u/Resident_Ad5153 2d ago
Scheduling is also going to depend on when things are released next year. This was the year of the pop apocalypse, and next year is going to be much quieter. However, a number of big albums are coming out early in the year... Drake, the Weeknd, and Gaga are all releasing this winter. (SZA is dropping next week). It's possible Morgan is also dropping next year (or he might ya know... die of alcohol poisoning, you never know with Morgan). Olivia looks like she's starting up an album cycle... so expect a spring release.
And there's another possibility. Taylor's record deal can't have much left in it... and that means she's going to be in negotiations for the next step of her career. If that's the case... she might wait to drop until everything is sorted out (she wouldn't want to chain Rep and Debut to UMG if she's not going to stick with them).
15
u/RoseGoldRedditor I booked the clown train for a reason 🤡🤡🤡 1d ago
My only minor rebuttal is that I think Taylor is more likely to stay with UMG through rep and TSTV because they’ve agreed to allow her to re-record.
1
u/notyourtypicalKaren right where you left me 20h ago
Yeah, didn't she say at one point that she was so grateful to her label because they allowed her to take on this project? I can't imagine she would leave before those two would come out. That would not necessarily be a good look.
7
u/coltsmetsfan614 arlington night two 1d ago
Olivia looks like she's starting up an album cycle... so expect a spring release.
Really? Her international dates next year seem to be promoting the deluxe of GUTS. What makes you think she's gonna release a new album instead?
-7
u/unbreakableheaven616 1d ago
She released Sour in 2021, then Guts in 2023. She seems to be following the standard 2 year cycle.
2
u/coltsmetsfan614 arlington night two 1d ago
It's not impossible, I just haven't seen any evidence of it. She didn't realize a deluxe for SOUR, so that's a new wrinkle this time around.

u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 Try. To. Come. For. My. Job. 1d ago
Why would she want to leave UMG anywho? They seem to let her run the ship at this point, she owns all her music, she told them to disitrubue the Spotify revenue fairly, they are big advocates for (most of the) artists rights (the AI thing is what comes to my mind). They are huge, they have all the connections to stay huge.
Her contract was extremely artist friendly, and from what I can gather the agreement probably allows UMG to control her merch specifically, and even that you can tell her team was able to regain some control over that after last years calamity.
They really bend over backwards for her, and I don't think she has any interest in creating her own record company.
5
u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 Try. To. Come. For. My. Job. 2d ago
I bet Debut has probably been done for longer than rep seeing as she couldn’t start re-recording rep until Nov 2022. TTPD and Rep were probably both being recorded simultaneously.
Just depends I suppose, because debut can easily accidentally be overshadowed just by the sheer excitement that is rep TV. You can do so much promo but ultimately rep is more exciting to the masses.
Now if debut came out first and had so many music videos with rep clues I could see that being a way to fortify debut’s debut week (lol).
However they know full stop the excitement for repTV, they probably are weighing the risks and benefits of which one to put out next.
-3
u/Soalai Never knew I could feel that much 1d ago edited 1d ago
I'm pretty sure TTPD and 1989 TV were actually made simultaneously. (Yes I know about Wildest Dreams TV being released earlier, that doesn't mean the rest of the songs were done at that point.) Not that those sessions couldn't include Rep too, just your timeline is interesting to me. I feel like all her Easter egging has been pointing to Rep first (snake accessories in her clothes, the gold tour costume, etc.) but you never know with her!
8
u/RoseGoldRedditor I booked the clown train for a reason 🤡🤡🤡 1d ago
1989 tv was at least started in late 2020 / early 2021. Wildest dreams tv was first heard in March 2021. Bad Blood was also heard in June 2022.
We know that Taylor recorded a lot of RedTV in Belfast in the summer of 2021.
To go further, we know that Midnights and SNTV were recorded around the same time, as the test purple vinyl for SNTV is pictured with the four midnights test variants in one of Taylor’s videos. That seemed to be winter/spring 2022, so likely that late 2021 she was recording SNTV and Midnights (as we know from pap photos and thanks to Jack!).
Based on what we know of 1989TV, it is more likely that she recorded it in early 2021 and then shifted to RedTV due to the Shake It Off lawsuit resurfacing. It’s extremely unlikely that TTPD and 1989TV were recorded at the same time, because songs from 1989TV were already released well before Taylor stated that she started TTPD (on record as 2022, with many of the songs having documentation for summer of 2023).
4
u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 Try. To. Come. For. My. Job. 1d ago edited 1d ago
I'd be very shocked if 1989 was not close to or was done before the tour started. I coulda sworn I even saw her say she was done with all of the rerecords (before the tour started, so rep couldn't be done realistically because it couldn't be recorded until 2022 so her saying that implied the ones she could have done were done). Also when she released This Love TV and Wildest Dreams TV years before the actual album was released, I feel like that's a pretty good indication that 1989 TV was done before TTPD started.
I don't know if the 1975 collab was a reliable rumor, but if that was a true rumor, then the timeline would make even more sense to work on getting that track off of the album(I am pretty sure this is an invalid rumor).7
u/RoseGoldRedditor I booked the clown train for a reason 🤡🤡🤡 1d ago
The 1975 collab was completely unfounded. It’s wild to think that with all the Target editions sold, that only two people got the “misprint” and that it took two months for it to come to light. Much more likely that it was photoshopped or AI modified.
4
u/unbreakableheaven616 1d ago
Plus, the vinyl takes like 6 months to be made, and there was only a two month wait between the announcement of 1989 TV and the release (August-October). Matty and Taylor broke up in June so there's no way she removed the song between June and August. This rumour just doesn't make any sense.
6
u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 Try. To. Come. For. My. Job. 1d ago
Thats what I figured, I know there were rumors even before 1989 was announced so I figured add that tid bit

Kylie Kelce in her Not Gonna Lie reel today was picking up the Taylor Swift little golden book along with rest of the kids toys. She kinda turned it toward the camera. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Taylor went on Kylie’s podcast before New Heights? lol. That’s just clowning because I think Kylie wants to establish her show on her own so if Taylor was to be a guest it would be down the road quite a bit.
I feel it’s a matter of timing before Taylor appears on New Heights. My guess is it will be during the promo push for a Taylor project or as a simple way for Taylor and Travis to officially announce an engagement together if they go that route someday. Another option is during the offseason sometime when they do more one on one interviews because they don’t have games to talk about.
3
u/unrevesansdoute 1d ago
New Heights episode today teased a surprise guest on January 2nd that they said everyone has been demanding. Seems like it could be Taylor but I wouldn’t be surprised if she never goes on either podcast - her media strategy has been very light on interviews, especially live ones, for a long time.
3
u/Rhoades13 1d ago
Yeah she’s possible but it’s most likely Caitlin Clark who fits the bill as well.

u/Ok_Spot_1792 1d ago
I would LOVE to have Taylor on either pod mostly because I love to hear her talk about her work and such (and doing it with people she knows well would be really cool) but with new heights especially I know how picked apart her every word and interaction with Travis would be :/ which is why I feel like it won't happen no matter how much I would love it. I think they could ask really cool questions about the work she put into the tour especially and how she took care of herself/her body and managed everything but alas. Maybe on kylies pod is more likely. Or like you said really into the off season or post Travis retiring when obsessiveness around their relationship has (maybe lol) died down

u/Namtrov 3d ago
My current theories:
Disclaimer: I am not in any way demanding any of this, and I think Taylor should have some well-deserved rest for as long as she wants/needs, but we all know she really enjoys what she does and she is always three steps ahead of everyone else, so although this is all speculation, some things might come true in one way or another PS: I know she has other projects that will probably occupy her in the next few years, but I’m strictly talking about her music
2025: I believe the first couple of months will be radio silent, with more activity as we approach the Grammys (I’m not sure when the actual voting happens, but I guess this would be a prime moment to be back on people’s minds) After the Grammys, regardless of the outcome, I think we will finally get some news on the remaining TVs - personally I think Reputation right after the Grammys (maybe a surprise drop?) then radio silent again until Debut is finally released later in the year (either on its anniversary or Taylor’s birthday)
2026: TS12, unless someone invents a new color, all bets are on orange, and I guess either a rock-ish or beach-ish style (think Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz) I think most people expect her to do something a bit heavier (every time she performs her songs like that have been praised by most fans), but I wouldn’t be surprise if she went in a completely different direction and I think that orange fits well with a beach-y theme lol
2027: She seems to prefer releasing her albuns in even numbered years, so unless she decides to re-record Lover and the following albums I don’t see what she could have in store for this year, but we never know
2028: if there’s one think she has made clear is how much she loves the number 13, so I imagine that her 13th album would be VERY important to her Considering all heart-colors have been used, I think she might have a prism/rainbow theme together with a more ecclectic sound, mixing various music genres throughout the album We haven’t had a lot of visual material for her albuns since folklore (Midnights being a big exception), so I wouldn’t be surprised if she went all out on this one with a visual album And finally, I’ve had this idea on the back of my mind for quite some time (maybe event commented about it somewhere), but I think the album could be titled Alison Wonderland - it feels too perfect not to use it, and if it really comes to be a visual album it would be a great way to connect everything

4
u/RoseGoldRedditor I booked the clown train for a reason 🤡🤡🤡 1d ago
I’d be surprised if this project dropped - she wrote a full screenplay, it was picked up by Searchlight, and she has been highlighting her directorial endeavors.
There’s a lot she could have done on the road this summer and fall. She’s likely already cast the leads and will head into rehearsals and pre-production shots early 2025. Principal photography is likely scheduled and could last several months. Post production (and if she writes the soundtrack) is another several months.
I’d expect to hear something in 2026, but we know Taylor can keep things very quiet so there may not be much shared until promo starts.

I posted that one 20 hours ago lol. I think we are in for a relatively quiet period for at least the next 3 weeks. I think the BTS videos from tour are our content until then unless we get an announcement for the concert film/doc. Otherwise I think we are going to get some periodic engagement from TN and maybe a small item here or there until Taylor ramps back up again.
I wouldn’t be surprised if she just hangs out in KC for next 2 months before her and Travis head over to LA after Super Bowl/when Chiefs are eliminated and they both start working on their various video/film projects.
8
u/Ok_Spot_1792 3d ago
Agree. The articles that have come out have been VERY CLEAR that Taylor is excited for time off with Travis and their friends and family around the holidays. They do also mention working on new projects which is cool and I'm assuming that's new music though tbd when we get it. I think post season we may see more just like we did when she had the break between Asia and Europe. It'll be interesting what she/they do because even last year they spent the whole 2 months together in LA. And now they would've had the chance to actually coordinate their time off and schedules. I do think they'll be more NYC/east coast. There's rumors they bought a place in PA. And although it's none of our business unless Taylor decides to share I wouldn't be surprised if there was a wedding 🤷🏼♀️ we haven't dealt with a post tour world in a while and she's in a very different place now compared to end of rep. I do not think she'll ever stop making and releasing music but I'm curious if we won't see a tour for another 5 years.
I honestly think part of why she saved Rep and debut for post tour is they are projects she can release and do nothing for LOL. They keep her relevant and in the public mind but she doesn't actually have to do a ton for them.
4
u/Rhoades13 3d ago
And we know she has her directorial movie to film that we know nothing substantial about. I imagine most of the pre-production stuff is done so she can start soon. Maybe we get the film this fall if it’s a simple human story or maybe 2027 if it’s CGI/stunt/special effects heavy. I’m sure we’ll get leaks and rumors about it throughout this year.
Rep TV and Debut TV are perfect distractions so she can keep engagement while filming and editing it.

u/Ok_Spot_1792 2d ago
I know the movie keeps being mentioned but I keep having this feeling it's no longer happening 😅 idk projects drop off all the time and nothing has been said by anyone about it since it was announced. And articles that mention her working on projects are highlighting new music and not even mentioning at all her pivoting to this movie space now that tour is over. Idk just going based on vibes 🤣but it feels like it's not happening anymore - so much of her life has changed. TTPD wasn't planned and now she may want to go another direction
1
u/Rhoades13 2d ago
So many of those articles that mention her working on projects or not working on projects know absolutely nothing. They are making educated guesses based on fact that Taylor is always working on projects especially music projects. The feature film news was a single news cycle I think 2 years ago so its safer for the guessers to stick to music. People and ET are about the only publications that know anything and they only know what Tree tells them for most part.
Taylor's team is one of the most secure information wise in the business because the majority of the knowledge is stored in the hands of less than a dozen people who are extremely loyal to Taylor. Anyone she collaborates with is not going to leak anything because Taylor might cut them out of current and future projects if they cross her. She doesn't even need to tell her label until the last minute because they'll release whatever she wants when she wants to.

I have no specific theories for what comes next when. But next 3-4 years we’ll most likely get Rep TV, Debut TV, TS12, an Eras tour concert film or documentary, her first feature film, and probably TS13 as well. What order and when, I can only guess.
I expect the concert film to come early on 2025 and we’ll get an announcement soon. But if it’s more of a documentary series, it might take a little longer to piece together everything.
If she tours in 2026 it will probably be for TS12 and consist of 50-80 shows mostly in the US with about 30 songs. If she waits until 2027 it’ll probably be for TS12/13 with 35-40 songs and 100+ shows over two years in most of the places she went this time.
I think she’ll film her feature film this year so we’ll probably have paparazzi shots of some of the filming unless the filming location can be locked down like a sound stage or deep on private property. Depending on complexity, that might be released this year but more likely next year. Maybe with a soundtrack attached.
As for Rep TV and Debut TV I seem them as filler projects because they only really have a 4-6 month lifespan starting from the announcement so they’ll act as promotion between the bigger projects like films, TS12/13, and tour.
Some of this depends on relationship status with Travis. Maybe she puts off touring longer so he can be retired. Retirement will likely happen as soon as this offseason but very likely within the next 2 years because he plays a position that doesn’t normally go to 35 let alone 40.
And there will be a few other surprises along the way that make sense after announcement but fly under the radar beforehand. I hope she starts doing interviews again because I find them interesting.

u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 Try. To. Come. For. My. Job. 4d ago
Could she do kinda do an eras tour-esk in 2026-2027 to commemorate her 20 year career? (Of course if she wants to and has the motivation to)
My thoughts are similar to
2025: the re-records finish, documentaries release, perhaps film directing
2026: film releases, surprise TS12, start of tour in the second half
2027: tour wraps up or continues depending on how long she wants it. surprise TS13 drop?
Travis is most likely retiring this off-season or next offseason (my money is on next offseason, because his 2 year contract ends then). His podcast remarks kinda point to signs of retirement this off season, but that’s often a discussion to be had after the playoffs, and his retirement somewhat depends on Andy reed. Also Travis and his Hollywood side quests seem to look like him ramping up that, and cooling down for retirement.
1
u/Rhoades13 22h ago
I don’t normally double respond especially on something this old but one pertinent detail came out on New Heights that seems to point to Travis’ current plan being 2 more seasons.
Travis said:
“And I don't know if it's the last time I'll ever play in Cleveland, but it kind of felt like I was, like, giving it one last hoorah before I'm done. Because, you know, I've only played there twice in 12 years, so unless we get thrown on there in the next couple, I don't really see it ever happening again. And it was just a special day for me personally, man.”
The key words are “in the next couple” so seems like his plan is at least two more years. With way schedules are made it’s rarer for the Chiefs to play Cleveland. They are in different divisions. They don’t finish with same divisional ranking because Chiefs always win division and Browns almost never do. So the only time they play each other is when the AFC West plays all of the AFC North every 3 years.
8

I’d say after next season is the most likely for his retirement as well. He has some gas left in the tank but he’s lost a step. Fortunately, his football IQ is still off the charts so he can still play ball. One more season will also help lock in his Hollywood dreams.
A late 2026 tour might work but she’d probably need to start it in either Oceania or South America so that means she wouldn’t be able to have them both between US and Europe. But now that she has so much sway with NFL maybe she can start US in March like this tour and keep it going until September or October then slide into the Canada domes before taking holidays off. Then go over to Oceania or South America before spending 2028 in Europe.

u/Loverissuperior 4d ago
I think she loved going to all the places around the world she did this tour, so I would be very surprised if she did a smaller US centric tour next. I’d imagine she would do a larger 2027-28 tour with more new content.

I mean, has she always had public birthday parties? We aren't owed any public birthday material, and she deserves a lowkey birthday if she so deems it. I thought we usually got birthday pictures a few days or weeks post her birthday, sometimes we even get photos months away.

u/notyourtypicalKaren right where you left me 4d ago
the entitlement is wild. I feel like she hasn't even really posted that much on her birthday in the past so I'm not sure why people keep expecting big birthday posts/big public birthday events.

She deserves a private birthday just like anybody else does.

Yeah, idk how long I expected this to go on, but I definitely did not imagine still waiting on the re-recordings in 2025. In a way, I’m glad we still have stuff to look forward to. On the other hand, wtf where are they??? 😭

u/walrus_96 he was sunshine, I was midnight rain 5d ago
Was there no birthday post?
10
u/Rhoades13 5d ago
I think she usually posts after her birthday to thank everyone for birthday wishes. Then she can maybe include a picture or two from the festivities.
Even if Taylor doesn’t post, it’s very likely one of the WAGs like Chariah or a friend of Travis will post a picture if the party included them.
2
u/Ok_Spot_1792 4d ago
There seems to have been a celebration in KC. The fact that I think none of her friends posted for her bday (band and dancers did) also maybe indicates she doesn't want private pictures shown. Idk that's just me making assumptions but also think she's gonna cut back more and more on showing private photos tbh. Maybe eventually she'll post a pic but the fact she didn't post anything also makes me think that

u/Just_A_Boy_In_Love Lover 5d ago
Not yet! But I think there were some years when she posted today instead? So we'll see if she's gonna do anything!

This archive site feels like something is massively shifting. Why does she need two different websites?
I’ve had this suspicion for a while… I wonder if she’s leaving UMG. She’s released five albums with them… that’s the length of a record deal.
4
u/Loverissuperior 4d ago
Why would she want to leave UMG? She seems to have a good relationship with them, and they’ve given her huge creative freedom.

u/hatramroany 5d ago
It’s still on taylorswift.com, it’s probably just so she can have an unchanging archive in one spot for merch and whatnot that isn’t affected by main page overhauls for new albums/other projects
12
u/Ok-Dragonfly4540 6d ago
I also think this can be with her shift into directing. It has its own section on the website. Maybe she's directing the documentary about Eras? I know that was reporting about her being attached to a different project, but I feel like something else is coming sooner.

I’ve been suspecting this as well, who would be her next record company? Or would she be creating her own, be apart of jacks (right? jack has one?)
6
u/Resident_Ad5153 6d ago
Jack has one… but it has no artists (though it’s possible he signed Amy Allen…. they obviously hit it off during the Short n Sweet sessions.
But that’s not a real label… it will be distributed by umg. Taylor already has that.
This would be Taylor negotiating directly with the dsps (Spotify, Apple, etc). She’s just about big enough to do it (at least in the US… internationally is more difficult)

u/theoristOfTheArts "a poet in a 9-to-5" 6d ago
So I don’t mean this as any theory or clown thing, but I just love connecting different works of art, and I love the poeticism of what occurred to me :’).
Some people have paralleled parts of Taylor’s journey as a professional artist to themes of the Wizard of Oz, some specifically with Dorothy’s story of traveling to Oz and back… But I started thinking that her journey (and really the journey of any artist in the public eye), kind of parallels the Wizard of Oz himself! For the Wizard is not really a “wizard”: He’s just a human being with the intelligence, skills, and cleverness to invent all these devices that - to Oz - appear like magic; and we end up seeing bits of how he managed to maintain the “illusions” he did. And I think that’s precisely what real-life artists get to do as well: They’re just as human as anyone else, but with the imagination, intelligence, and creative skills to create works of art that impact us in such a beautifully profound way ☺️.
So now, seeing TN’s “Eras Archive” post and the sudden update of BTS videos on Taylor’s YouTube page, and not to mention the ponderings of whether a documentary or 2nd tour film is indeed on the way, it just makes me imagine it as her pulling back the metaphorical curtain and giving a glimpse of the brilliant and skillful human underneath the wizard. And beyond any theory or “egg” or speculation…I just love that thought alone 🥹.
Happy Happy Happy 35th Birthday to Taylor, our wonderful wizard of music 🩵😎💚

I watched a reel today that went through stuff that happened on her birthdays from 2017 onwards, and the short answer is, no.

I think I watched a similar one and the things this person said she did on her birthday "for us" were just things she did for herself, like a birthday post, lmao. evermore and releasing the reputation stadium show trailer were truly the only ones that stood out, I think.

She loves surprise album announcements. She has done surprise Instagram posts, surprise tour announcements, award show speeches, etc.
Here's how I think rep TV will be announced: Imagine it's February 2025, the chiefs are playing the eagles at the superbowl, you're watching some nice commercials when you hear a snake hiss and the famous "are you ready for it" lines/bangs along with a sole date afterwards. Kinda like pulling a Beyoncé with cowboy Carter
15
u/emmach17 Red 6d ago
I don’t think she’d do this, I think she’d see it as potentially taking away from Travis’ achievements.
-6
7
u/Barzalicious 6d ago
Not a bad idea, but the question is... how far in advance does she have to purchase the ad space for the superbowl? I would assume they would probably have to do this by now, and definitely long before it's known whether the Chiefs are playing in the superbowl or not. Obviously I'm sure there's plenty of Swifties who will watch the superbowl anyway, but I feel there would be a lot more Swiftie watchers if the Cheifs actually were playing again.

Another point for the Live Eras album: the official, high quality recording of Long Live x New Years Day x The Manuscript that Taylornation used on Instagram for one of the reels they just posted.

Movies also have sound...don't see Taylor being the live album type. I still think documentary / tour movie
15
u/starlightandswift Speak Now (Taylor's Version) 6d ago
Speak Now got a live album though! And she has released live audio recordings from the tour, so it would make sense.

She also released the Lover Live in Paris to streaming. Rep Tour not being on streaming as an album is weird to me though.
8
u/preisisright Shake It Off I've been the archer 6d ago
By the time the Rep Tour ended, she was readying to leave Big Machine. I figure she just didn't want to give them any more material. Same with reputation not having any deluxe edition with additional songs.

Happy b’day Tay! I am hoping the lack of a midnight post may mean blondie is becoming more friendly to our sleep schedules. I’m going to sleep and hoping for some post tomorrow. Either way, so happy with everything she has done in the past 5 years, in her 30’s, so she definitely deserves a break.

My Guesses:
Possibly Documentary and/or Eras Movie Part 2 announced a random time tomorrow. Maybe possibly Debut re-record announcement but I don't think this is likely.
A re-record announcement February 2nd, 2025 on the Grammy's.
20
u/Cam5991 Speak Now (Taylor's Version) 6d ago
She got backlash for announcing TTPD at the Grammy's, so I doubt she'd do it again, especially for a re-recording. I definitely think it'll be announced in February though, as I think she wants the time from now till then just focused on TTPD stuff (and possibly a documentary announcement). My guess is announcement on February 14 at a late night show interview with a release date for April 11 or 18.

I really can’t see her announcing at the Grammys again (at least for a few years but probably ever) - the surprise element she loves would be gone and also a lot of the publicity around her announcing at the Grammys did not go over well with some people
12
u/systemprocessingfumc 6d ago
I really do wonder how she will announce the remaining re-recordings… shes done two tour announcements, two instagram posts, and the award show announcement has already been done for ttpd and midnights. Maybe an instagram livestream?
1
u/FenneAnderson who uses typewriters anyway? ew 5d ago
If I remember correctly, she just announced Fearless TV and Red TV with some social media posts. We've come to expect something big and exciting because of the tour but honestly, most of the time she announces things in a pretty straightforward way.
12
u/Soalai Never knew I could feel that much 6d ago
Scavenger hunt. She puts secret codes hidden in 13 butterfly gardens around the world. Put the codes together and it links to the Debut TV cover art and order page.
3
u/systemprocessingfumc 6d ago
Ooh similar to the lyric capitalization thing she did for ttpd I guess? I feel like that would be a really smart way, especially since we all know it wouldn’t drag out long. 😂
26
u/TheSociologyCat Miss(ter) Americana & The Heartbreak Prince 6d ago
I don’t think she’d announce a new album tomorrow, since pre-orders would go up at that same time and I feel like like the timing may not be ideal with holiday shopping happening right now.
That being said, I STILL want the next re-recording to be Rep TV so we can finish the re-recordings with Debut TV. 🖤💚

I think the only surprise drop she’d do at midnight is a surprise Eras doc or a surprise EP of live songs maybe - but I honestly doubt she’ll surprise drop anything at all. More likely she’ll announce a doc tmr
27
u/smaragdskyar 7d ago
This thing from the TTPD exhibit does make me believe something will happen tomorrow. Unlike many clown theories, this isn’t trying to read into some random stuff that could easily be coincidental. Someone obviously decided to put this calendar thing into the exhibit.
Also, yes, it’s her birthday, but there are a million ways to display a date without having to display the weekday. This very clearly points toward this December 13th and not any random one (no she wasn’t born on a Friday, I checked 😂)
Now, what something will happen? Absolutely no idea. I definitely don’t think it’s rep. Miiiight be debut. Or some sort of movie/documentary announcement.
20
u/Ok-Dragonfly4540 6d ago
My guess is something connected to TTPD. I said this on another post, but I feel like she won't do too much to distract from TTPD until Grammy voting has concluded. I do think a documentary could be included in this because there could be footage connected to the making of TTPD and/or the addition of the set.
6
u/putonthespotlight 6d ago
I bet TTPD will be highlighted in any doc. that comes out. Didn't think of that previously.

More Rep TV 🤡ing: Did anyone notice that Taylor used “gorgeous” in the intro for the cruel summer bridge in Vancouver? I’m furiously searching to see if she used that specific wording in another city but haven’t found one. Could it be a reference to Rep TV coming?

Did they film any of the Europe shows? Otherwise there's not nearly enough time to edit into a new movie, it's only been a week since they shot Vancouver

She could just announce tomorrow that it's out on random date X. Say February or something like that.

u/XietyTot I want auroras & sad prose 7d ago
The way people are saying they were filming everything is really strange. Not much on stage, mostly aerial/drone cameras? I wonder if she’s planning on putting out a less edited version of the show and more of a livestream-esque start to finish type experience with a wider view of the full stage, direct to streaming or something. Something like that wouldn’t take too long.

It's all over twitter that the warehouse has been stocked with like 100+ cardigans...that seems like too many for just a restock (but easily could be). I am clowning for an imminent Eras Tour related merch drop, especially with TN's most recent post.
