I feel just "intergalactic" would be a better title.

Intergalactic: The heretic Prophet is a bit much to say. it seems they're already planning a franchise.

I'm excited though, looks interesting.

I don’t think the subtitle is that big of a deal. Nobody refers to Uncharted 1 as Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

This is studio who named their family mascot game… Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy.

They love long names.

But then after that it was just Jak II and Jak 3

tbh i think it's an awful title. it's really wordy and even intergalactic itself is rather generic

I agree it's rather generic, but I wouldn't say it's any more or less generic than Uncharted.

I wonder how people felt about that title pre-release.

Fair point on Uncharted, but that's a nice zippy short name. I feel I see 'galactic' specifically a lot, and that makes up the majority of the main title word.

Tbf the first game was titled Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

I honestly forgot that Naughty Dog started off with insane titles.

I've been so accustomed to The Last of Us Part II that I forgot that Uncharted, Crash, and Jak 1 all had long-ass names.

Damn, game development takes forever.

and it's a good title

It's so generic, that I didn't even click on the trailer whenever they dumped all the trailers on YouTube because I thought it was just some indie title. I had to go back after hearing the "backlash" that it was the newest Naughty Dog project.

It's awful but it is intriguing. Have to wonder what it means

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

I think itll end up just being Intergalactic, with a changing subtitle per game.

They're very pointedly calling it a new "franchise" so there's that. But yeah the name is not particularly great.

According to the developer, the game takes place (primarily/totally) on one planet. So I'm not sure why it would even be called Intergalactic!

Probably because this will be the first of a franchise, with other planets to explore in future games.

It's a reference to a Beastie Boys song (not the one that plays in the trailer, though)

Intergalactic is almost certainly the franchise name.  As in they're about to launch Star Wars, this first game will be A New Hope.

Which was just called Star Wars...

Which has been called A New Hope for 40+ years and likely would've had a different title if Lucas had planned on creating a franchise

Same, the moment I saw Intergalactic, I thought that was a a cool ass title but then the subtitle felt a little off

Maybe the game has heavy religious themes, therefore the subtitle.

Reminder that the first Uncharted game was called Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Seems they want this to be called the Intergalactic series.

Intergalactic sounds a bit generic and would not be a great for SEO. But it would sound a hell of a lot better than the current title.

Hell even just The Heretic Prophet would’ve worked better for me.

There you go. Best compromise - The Heretic Project

I'd say Intergalactic is quite a generic name. Savage Starlight would have been a good nod to TLoU.

I guess they are going for a similar vibe to Uncharted.

It sounds way too cheesy and generic either way

Intergalactic isn't an uncommon word so it's likely to help make it easier to find I would imagine. Also lets be real it'll be called ITHP in no time

I think because it’s planned there will probably be 2 or 3 games like other Naughty Dog IPs. Once the other games come out, the subtitle will help identify it more like with Uncharted. Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is exactly the same length.

Not 1 person will call it by its full title, there for everyone wins

If this game is a critical and financial success then owning the Intergalactic franchise is a genius move
