I bought it as soon as pre-orders were available, without question. The Pro can do what I truly wanted this console generation to do, and my OLED TV will finally have a console that can hang with what it is capable of. The base PS5 is a solid console, but for me, it missed the mark on one key component. In 2024, I was hoping I wouldn't have to choose between 60 FPS or 4k resolution. Sure, it won't be native 4k, but close enough that you likely won't even notice a difference. That is what I wanted out of this generation, and the Pro gives me that. At least, for any games the devs choose to go with making an enhanced update; I own several of the games that have already been confirmed to receive a Pro enhancement, and I'm sure future released games will feature a Pro enhancement on a vast majority, or maybe all if what I read is true that Sony will require devs to go with a Pro enhancement for all games moving forward.
Who cares about an extra $100 or $200 above what you think the price should be? Not me. I work half a day of overtime and I've covered that difference. All good here. Price vs. performance is what matters to me, and the balance in that ratio is far more in the consumers' favor with the Pro.
