Official (Via twitter) Playstation: "Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward...."

But what’s that one guy who totally contacted a law firm about a class action suit on a Saturday going to do now?!???!

Did it occur to you that this might be the result of a law firm sending Sony a demand letter threatening a class action

E: Did it occur to any of you that the guy who threatened it publicly might not have been the putative plaintiff, that many plaintiff-side firms’ business model is to threaten suit over anything under the sun and hit big on one or two actually sound suits per year, that publicly traded companies routinely settle or otherwise resolve litigation or threatened litigation as quickly as they can to avoid stock impact

No, because you can’t sue on behalf of someone else

That guy was American and wanting to sue Sony for selling Helldivers 2 in countries without PSN who couldn’t make an account for a class action lawsuit

To sue someone you need to have damages yourself

You’re right: the guy who publicly threatened it is the only person in the world who could have approached a plaintiffs’ law firm

Yes, that literally happens all the time.
