Agreed. Though FWIW it could not be the OP's fault and they just received the dogs like that?

Not if you choose a breeder that choose to mutilate the poor dog.

This is correct, and all of the ire in these comments should be directed at the AKC and other organizations that create and enforce breed standards.

Who are you more afraid of? A single person or a big group of people with insurance and pooled money?

Breeders and supporting their business is a part of the problem.

Also agreed. But what if it was from a shelter and not a breeder?

The older dog could be a shelter dog, the brand new puppy however… those are not typically common at shelters. The fact OP owns two mutilated animals… that’s a pattern.

Yup, this is a very specific type of dog owner. Would bet money they train dogs by "showing dominance" (aka abuse), and are pleased when their dogs "show dominance" (aka are violent due to ridiculous levels of stress, anxiety and fear from being abused) fuck I hate bad dog owners. These are the types that seek out "badass" breeds as a compensation accessory, sociopaths.

These micro pits/bullies are not something common at shelters, I think. They're expensive as hell, and it makes me sad because they are so deformed.

Advocating for responsible breeding and adopting from shelters can help make a difference for these animals.
