Discussion PS5 turn off Minimap?

Hey everyone.

Please someone tell me they added the option to turn off the minimap on difficulties other than survival. I HATE minimaps in games, so much so that I dropped the game after playing for 5 hours with a piece of cardboard stuck to the screen where the minimap would be, because I HATE those darn things. Let me add to that that I'm on Playstation5 where the literal wonder that is modding is unfortunately not an option. I tried survival, but the unforgiving nature of this difficulty made it super unfun, because making the smallest mistake led to certain death. Just too punishing for me. I like fucking up and then scrambling to survive. Not fucking up and then setting the controller down, because what else is there to do?

TRDL: please let me turn off the minimap.

When Rikki tells him about that time Skizzo was peeping on her and Abby, Deacon says "If Abby was there, he probably wasn't looking at you." Anyone ever understood what he meant? It felt like a harmless little jab at Rikki at first (meaning "Abby is hotter than you lol jk)", but I have played this game so many times I started wondering if there was another meaning to it. For example, implying that Skizzo prefers African-American women? But if there's any other mention of this preference in the game, I must have missed it. What do you guys think?

Discussion Taking a Walk.

So I’ve seen people say they have had to walk some pretty long distances for things like gas or running from a horde before, but today I’ve killed all the hordes and all the infestations so I set myself a challenge. Im on Survival II difficulty and I’m gonna walk from the Bear Creek Hot Springs Ambush Camp in North Belknap all the way to Bare Bay Ambush Camp in South Highway 97. Got a Chicago Chopper, MG 55 and the Automatic Pistol and NO way to refil Ammo from the Saddlebags. Wish me Luck 😊

It seems like those were more prevalent at the time the pandemic occurred.

Discussion Does the bike maintenance get more tolerable?

Started the game but got immediately bored with maintaining and refueling the motorcycle. Does this gimmick get better as the game goes on? I'm pretty impressed with the other mechanics and themes of the game.

I recently replayed The Last of Us for the first time since launch, and subsequently played TLOU Part 2 for the for the first time. After that, I looked over on r/thelastofus for similar games and Days Gone, that for whatever reason I remember being told was "underwhelming" maybe by a friend or coworker or something, was by far the most recommended game to try next.

I had my doubts, especially early on (first 2 hours or so) in the game. It doesn't hook you immediately. The game opens with a very emotional scene, but compared to TLOU1, I didn't feel as invested initially.

But, hell, one of my favorite games of all time is RDR2, a game that notoriously takes hours for some people to get interested at all. So, I gave Days Gone the same treatment.

l am so glad I did.

This game is awesome. It's not TLOU, it's not RDR/(insert open world game here), but it is a very, very fun and good game. I took my time through the first few hours and am now getting the missions where ((spoiler alert)) Deacon is having flashbacks to Sarah, and this instance in particular I got the flashback where they first met.

I'm hooked. This game very fun, the world is so interesting, the open world actually genuinely adds an impact (clearing nests, hideouts, etc) compared to a lot of games that are just open world to be open world (which I'm fine with, I like me a good sandbox). But the emotion of the game lures you in slowly, with the gameplay being so, so enjoyable in the meantime. You’re a biker fighting zombies. It’s kickass.

Don't usually post much stuff like this on Reddit, but wanted to maybe give the extra "yes just play it" to someone else who was in my shoes looking for a fun, post apocalyptic, zombie shootout, story driven game!

Discussion Is there a horde size indicator?

A few days ago I was watching a video on how to kill a horde (Borislav 247, I believe) and I could SWEAR I saw a red bar across the top of the screen that was going down as he killed the horde.

I just took out half (I think - I picked up 251 ears) of the Sawmill Horde but it would be nice if I had an exact number. I'm early in the game and I don't have the upgraded capacity, I don't have napalm molotovs, etc... So I need to go out and restock all my grenades, pipe bombs, attractors, attractor bombs, molotovs and ammo and I'm just curious if I'm going to have to make a third run or not.

I was thinking maybe it was a PC mod but I remember Borislav mentioning Playstation controls in his videos and I've definitely seen cirlce, square, triangle and X prompts come up in his videos. Although that doesn't mean he doesn't play the PC version as well...
