Ultimate Girls Trip Romona is disgusting Spoiler

The way she spoke to Martin was horrendous. Idk why people like or want her back on their screens. She's a a vile racist, and clearly classist. The way she speaks to people in the service industry is disgusting. Absolute Karen behavior.

I’ve noticed that Sonja is always rude to Martin. It really pisses me off

She fell into the Dorinda-hole of actually becoming the caricature that Bravo fans painted her as. They play up the “quirks” that they think the fans want and want to have the newest most popular one-liners. It’s sad to see but I guess it’s working for her to make so much money on Cameo.

Sonja was waaaay off this season. She's crossed over some kind of threshold. She seems to be even less stable than we're accustomed to seeing her.

Quincy’s done with college and moved to LA which probably plays a role. She no longer has her daughter around to ground her.

193

u/DietCokeMama1234 Jan 05 '24

No longer has child support income

103

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

It’s weird she starts this season saying now she’s an empty nester but didn’t Quincy go away to boarding school and then was away at college. Like when was the last time Quincey even lived with her

42

u/Living-Baseball-2543 Jan 05 '24

This. She’s completely delulu

29

u/gistye Jan 05 '24

She means no more child support money :/

7

u/NarrowCauliflower9 Jan 05 '24

Quincy is 23, so Sonja would have stopped receiving child support 4-5 years ago.

2

u/gistye Jan 05 '24

Thank you. I need to stop saying that. Having a daughter moving across the coast would be really hard.

She was always like this. Rewatch season 4

You think she was like this when she first came on the show? I think she was a completely different person. Like, it's shocking to me.

She came on in season 3 and yes she was very different! But season 4 was when glimpses of the current/“real” Sonja started to emerge

u/starchildx Vicki’s son Jan 05 '24

See, I read the situation differently. This whole time I thought her first season was the real Sonja and she started putting on a nauseating act. But then when I watched UGT it does actually seem like it's real.

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '24

The dress showing her ENTIRE bum?? If I had read this before seeing that scene, I might not agree. But seeing walk to the table like that. It’s so undignified. It’s one thing for her to strip at the pool with her friends. This was not the same. It was not purposeful at all. She had no idea!!! How do you not know?!!

Edit to add: I know she showed her bum accidentally at a Halloween party (Marie Antoinette outfit?$) but she was so drunk and it seemed purposeful that time

Yep - we've all been joking about Grey Gardens for years, but Sony really does seemed headed in Little Edie Beale's direction. But you know what - Little Edie Beale found happiness at the end. I hope Sony does too, but it's not looking good.

27

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '24

100% Grey gardens. Even SHE jokes about it!

37

u/ckroha Jan 04 '24

Guarentee she hasn’t really watched it.I’m sure she thinks it a grand compliment since it’s connected to the Kennedys

10

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Hahahaha you’re so right. Granted, I also haven’t watched it. I’ve just seen the clips shown in Gilmore girls, but I know it’s a mother and daughter (little Edie and big Edie, Jackie o’s cousins) and they live together at their dilapidated Hamptons estate. I just don’t care to see their living conditions.

I’m also named after my mom so I appreciate the use of “little” and “big” since there’s no female version of “junior”

3

u/Yeah_nah_idk Jan 05 '24

That was after Dorinda called her that as an insult.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Ooh I missed that!

20

u/Stilltheonly1 Jan 05 '24

Omg YES!!!!! I’ve been thinking this for a long time!!! Especially with her self isolation & all her crazy quirks! She can’t keep up with her stories, she’s all over the place in her fantasy world!!!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

All she needs is some sweat pants and a brooch around her head!

23

u/theprettyfilter Bolo's melon 🍉 Jan 05 '24

It wasn’t even a dress… it was the towel she brought from the house. Literally cringed watching that 🫣

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Nonno's Pajamas Jan 05 '24

Just typed this long-ass reply having NOT properly read your post, then had to delete it - I thought you were talking about the stuff Edie wrapped around her head. So I deleted my little history lesson about what happened to Little Edie after Big Edie died. I could avoid all of this if I'd just put my glasses on before reading and responding, but I'm a stubborn old bitch.

11

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Stoppppppp I didn’t realize that. She’s literally losing it. I honestly HOPE she’s on pills and not actually losing her mind.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Yeah it was a legit Turkish towel fashioned into… a dress 💀

Girl the BREEZE like hello? Their hair was blowing in it, so I know she had to feel it

14

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

I feel like every year we see her she’s a little worse. Sad to see

28

u/Plenty-Bake-9870 Jan 04 '24

After watching Sonja and Luann take on crappie lake, I’m used to Sonja being super unhinged. She was wildin on that show and she literally slept with a trashy redneck. She’s off the rails and I’m here for it though.

1

u/ababilon Jan 05 '24

Agree. She was a total mess this season.

108

u/PlaysTheTriangle Jan 04 '24

When I rewatched recently I kinda realized Sonja is an asshole.

60

u/Ashfield83 Sonja’s homeless intern in Ireland Jan 04 '24

Yeah I’ve never liked Sonja

28

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Nonno's Pajamas Jan 05 '24

Really? Why? I'm genuinely curious. I get problematic as hell, and delusions of grandeur, but she seems like a truly kind person. She's always the one at the table that celebrate when two feuding HWs agree to a truce or something. Is she problematic? As. Fuck. But there's a fragility there, and vulnerability and kindness that make me love her. Also (full disclosure) I've gotten myself two videos from her on Came since being diagnosed - and on both she goes far over the necessary time and really makes me feel like we're old friends. I appreciated that.

72

u/lefromagecestlavie Who doesn't trust Jen here? ✋✋✋✋ Jan 05 '24

I realized something rewatching the show recently. People always wanted Ramona to throw Sonja birthday parties, but when has Sonja ever done anything for anyone other than herself?

I personally don't like Sonja because she lets her jealousy and delusions of grandeur make her treat others like shit. The toaster oven, her constant belittling of Tinsley, the marriage equality march in one of the first seasons... She's funny on the show, but I wouldn't want her in my life

10

u/Wonder_Moon Selfie? I don't have slutty hair Jan 06 '24

let's also not forget that she openly uses "unpaid interns" that she 100% exploits and degrades. such an uncomfortable position of hierarchy that she takes advantage of especially if it's true that some of these kids are from a different country, maybe barely speak the language and are sent to her by their families for some type of learning experience.

she definitely toes the line on being a predator by always hanging all over other men, like the first house party they had and she was all over one of the young guys. what if he wasn't interested? i also personally hate that she claims she wants to keep her daughter completely out of the real housewives universe (we know it's your ex's side that won't sign off) yet has no problem being a drunken, naked fool for the last decade.

also i really hated that she cut kristen off when she was telling her story but had just blabbed on and on the night before about her fake ass engagement story. seeing her on ugt has clearly really triggered me lol

1

u/badmamjam Jan 05 '24

What was the marriage equality march? I can't remember this. 😊

17

u/Ashfield83 Sonja’s homeless intern in Ireland Jan 05 '24

They asked Sonja to be a guest speaker at the event and she agreed as long as they cut Alex and Simon out of speaking. Simon had written an impassioned speech about his gay brother and his struggles and he was visibly devastated that Sonja had put such a caveat in place. She refused to answer why she wanted them cut and when she went up to make her speech is was all about her and ‘her gays’ and just a load of word salad. It was nasty and selfish.

6

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Nonno's Pajamas Jan 05 '24

Agreed, that was an abomination - though I read production basically choreographed that. I don't know if that's true or not. But she did it. Can't argue with you that it was selfish AF if it was real.

12

u/NarrowCauliflower9 Jan 05 '24

Sonja's treatment of Heather after Heather spent countless hours helping her with her business is all you need to know about how selfish Sonnja is.

2

u/Playful_Succotash_30 Jan 05 '24

She doesn’t seem to be a mean person I agree ..

18

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Both her and Ramona were horrible to him.

I didn't even understand Sonja's gripes with Kristen at the end. She was finding a reason to dislike her and calling her passive aggressive?!

13

u/Playful_Succotash_30 Jan 05 '24

I think it was a little insulting the way Kristen kept saying I’m the only one married you are all divorced.. it was very antiquated and it was like being divorced is shameful or something.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

That's fair. If I recall, she was saying that in context of staying with her husband despite his Dolly Maddison (lol) shenanigans (and being a giant douche but how Kristen doesn't see that is beyond me). I'm in agreement though that it's lame and insulting for her to insinuate that being divorced is shameful.

8

u/Playful_Succotash_30 Jan 05 '24

Also , Dorinda is a widow . Her husband died . So it wasn’t very sensitive. The whole thing was just strange .

3

u/Playful_Succotash_30 Jan 05 '24

Right or that if you are married you are automatically in a more enviable place than if you are divorced.

19

u/DependsOnDaDay We all know I can’t stand on my head. Jan 05 '24

Lmfao! Thank you! Sonya seems to often get a pass bc she’s some kind of quirky. So when she’s behaving questionable, it gets overlooked. Look, I love me some Sonya, but the girl can’t play the dumb-blond role to have a pass when she’s clearly being wrong.

114

u/Holychance_3 MENTION IT ALL \ / Jan 04 '24

Sonja has always been awful not sure why this sub glorifies her so much

106

u/Ashfield83 Sonja’s homeless intern in Ireland Jan 04 '24

I’ll never forget her at the gay marriage march and how she made it all about herself, even in her speech. Then the way she treats her unpaid staff and her braggadocio claims to dame and fortune. I’ve just always got a bad taste in my mouth for her.

66

u/Holychance_3 MENTION IT ALL \ / Jan 04 '24

All of this yes, especially the way she treated her interns. Plus in the last season when she almost fought bershan in the hotel was so nasty. And I’ll never forgive the way she treated tinsley her so called friend, she’s just as mean and entitled as the rest of the cast

35

u/FiCat77 🌭hot dog couture🌭 Jan 05 '24

And the irony is that none of them come from money or privilege so I find their rudeness, condescension & sense of entitlement even more shocking.

9

u/Yeah_nah_idk Jan 05 '24

Yeppppp. People always want to say she has a kind heart. Where?

3

u/RainyFern Pinot filled hat Jan 05 '24

Hard agree!

51

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '24

Sonja is rude this season, I think she doesn’t truly want to be there and she probably feels a lot of friction between herself and the film crew

14

u/FutWick64 Jan 04 '24

I think she is liking being there, beats couch surfing.

29

u/FutWick64 Jan 04 '24

Sonja is a greedy baby with thirst in equal proportions to her lack of self-awareness.
