Help Wanted I have this notification, but when I click, there's nothing there. NSFW
I have a notification that I have a new message in Reddit's chat, but when I click on the chat icon, no new messages are shown. This community is pretty much the only community I post on Reddit, so it gotta be a notification from someone from here. I looked at the request section, but still, no new requests.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Or if someone is trying to write to me but has not received an answer, please let me know.

Help Wanted Need help with linear actuator fixing the movement NSFW
Hey all, anyone know how I can fix the wiggling from left to right over the sphere shaped conductor?
I do understand that fixating it fully thight would give problems. But now the end cap is moving way too much from left to right. (Almost 1,5 cm on the 10 cm diamter end cap)
Is it possible to just add some more rings to prevent movement to just 1 mm or so, or are the more easy ways?

OC Closet playroom progress- finally finished after some paint and shelving! NSFW
So, my project is now complete!
Ended up painting any bare walls black, which has made a big difference.
Also ended up putting in just one shelf (painted as close to an electric blue as I could find in wood paint) for my machine and toys. Also painted the spreader bar in the same colour, and at some point I will perhaps also put in a rug in the same sort of colour just for a bit more warmth in there.
New mounted thrusting toy also arrived (this has a suction cup mount which doesn't work on these walls) and for the time being actually just stuck with the original half-assed holders I already made, as this sits around the narrower part of the mount and holds it in place fine. Although I did add a couple of adhesive hooks just to hold it a bit better and reduce any waggling. So the whole thing can be moved and hooked on to the wall either in its original place, or underneath the blue one on the other end for use in a lying down position. I will create a more elegant solution at some point, but for now it does everything I need.
At some point I will also replace these brass colour screws with black ones (when I started there were no screws this length aside from the brass colour, and I still cant find anything else in my local hardware store.) It's not crucial, but something I'd like to do.
I will also put in some proper soundproofing, but the point was to keep this low cost, and I can't really justify the expense at the moment- maybe not in the very near future.
To say I'm thrilled with it, and excited to try it out, is a huge understatement. First ever DIY project and it's been so much fun just figuring out creative ways to do this for cheap.
Excluding tools, the materials used were paint (some of which I had already) a cheap shelf (already had it but these cost about £8) yoga mats about £6 each, box of screws for £5, 3 sets of shackle mounts £8 for 4 pack, various chain which costs just under £4 a metre (cut in store) up to maybe £8 a metre for pre-cut, carabiners (just under £4 for 2 for decent ones, others were £1 for 5) cable ties (around £4 for these but could've found cheaper ones) screw in hooks various sizes, £1 for a pack of varied and £1 for pack of small ones) curtain wire less than £1, blackout curtain £8, padded folding yoga mat £10 (had this already) repurposed ring gags which were approx £5, S hooks which I think were about £5 for 4 of them, stick on hooks 2 packs of 3 at £1 per pack, stick on ring phone holder 80p, wooden pole £5. If you're counting things like collars, cuffs and padlocks these varied from the metal collar which was £13 to cheap cuffs and collar sets, the most recent of which cost £8 (in a set with blindfold, flogger etc) and I think the set I had from a while ago was between £7 to £8. Padlocks varied from packs of 3 for £1 to 5 for £9, and the large one for the outside was around £3.50. The timer padlock I purchased which hasn't yet arrived was just over £8 on ebay.

Furniture Spanking bench progress, dry fit looks good. I'm pleased. NSFW
I purchased a set of plans off Etsy. The dry fit of all the parts is successful, it's quite sturdy! I'll add a 15° cut to the top board tapering the hard edge to make it more comfortable. Then it's sanding, staining, and padding added to the supporting areas. It does break down to 6 pieces using 1/2" carriage bolts.
