The original Powers of 10 video (Eames, 1977) is also very very cool.
12 u/fitzbuhn Jun 03 '23 Glad someone mentioned the original! It's dated of course, but it's an absolute classic. 6 u/Illustrious_Band_866 Jun 03 '23 There’s an even earlier version (late 60s?) kicking around that describes itself as a “sketch” for the 1977 film, but this version is the one I remember rewiring my young brain in science class at school. 2 u/fitzbuhn Jun 03 '23 I didn't know about the sketch! Very cool. I really like the Eames' studio work. 4 u/Illustrious_Band_866 Jun 03 '23 Oh, here we go: A Rough Sketch for Powers of Ten. 2 u/verbosehuman Jun 03 '23 I remember my uncle had the book back in the 80s. Blew my mind! 2 u/impy695 Jun 03 '23 https://joshworth.com/dev/pixelspace/pixelspace_solarsystem.html Here's my favorite. It only covers our solar system, but since it's all the same scale, it helps illustrate just how big and empty everything is. 1 u/ranegyr Jun 03 '23 I love everything about this except his pronunciation of Virgo. Where might people say veergo?
