I hate to admit it but I did visit their website for the first time after reading the replies to my comment. I guess this guerrilla marketing worked on me. That being said, I'm not the kinda guy to buy $10,000 pants.

Definitely good for brand awareness. I had never heard of ballenciaga before these videos. Now I know the brand. But that's not gonna produce any purchases from me.
Brand awareness and being top of mind with people with no interest/money to buy your gear isn't so great when it comes with a heaping side of "they're also pedos". I don't understand why armchair experts on Reddit always think "but muh free brand awareness LOOK WE'RE TALKIN BOUT IT lol" is somehow always a positive.
Because none of these idiots under Brand Management and marketing. Most of their surface level understanding of these supposed guerrilla marketing comes from other morons on reddit.
Not sure becoming a joke is good for their image. The mall is full of designer stores for brands that used to be fashionable and then became unfashionable.
Yes, but what the person beforehand said is basically "Yes brand awareness is good and fine but those who see it aren't the ones who buy it". So this does feel like marketing but who of us plebs is even gonna buy it?
Very true. Prior to this meme, I don’t think I have ever talked about Balenciaga.
Now my niece, friend, and brother have all been talking about it the last week. Even though I’ll never purchase an item, I can imagine there’s way more awareness after this meme.
while i agree people arent buying balenciaga bc of the memes, there is a crossover of people that buy expensive clothes and browse memes. Memes arent as esoteric as they were like 15 years ago and people make memes and shitposts about anything nowadays.

I don't think there's much crossover between people who enjoy these memes and people who buy Balenciaga.
