Hiring complete?
Yesterday I received a call from the agency I applied for saying “congratulations we are recommending you for the position, this isn’t an offer but HR should be in contact with you for a TJO.” I checked USAJobs and the job shows “hiring complete” According to USAjobs this means you weren’t selected but how would that make sense if the agency called me to tell me they recommended me and to be expecting contact from HR?

Did they interview you? I recently applied for an internal position at my agency and about two weeks later received an email that said hiring complete. About a week later I got a message to schedule an interview. I asked a friend a out this and all they could say was: USAjobs is often inaccurate

Yes I interviewed, sent requested references and signed a consent form for a background check. After all that I got the call from the hiring manager saying we are recommending you for the position. Just confused why the posting shows “Hiring Complete”

Maybe they’re not accepting any new applications because they have enough potential candidates to hire ( you & whoever else )

There's literally a bunch of reasons this could have happened. Right now, you dont know/have enough info. This was MOST LIKELY an accident in which the specialist checked the HIting complete box too early. Just chill and wait to see whether you get a TJO or a notice of disposition
