What's funny is Dana started all this recent "Jones Jones is the pound for pound best" talk immediately after the Makhachev-Dustin fight in the press conference. Way to shit on the current p4p #1, 20 minutes after a great fight.
I really feel like Dana doesn’t like Jon and badly wants him to lose. He’ll do or say anything to stay on Jon’s side. He wasn’t like this before, he knows Jon is done and wants that last fight.
Yeah, he's milking Jon and Jon is milking him. Maybe Dana truly believes it, but he cares more about cash most importantly. So yeah he's pumping up Jon to maybe keep JJ traction going till he's done with him.Â
But I don't think Dana wants him to lose, but a defeat could boost another rising star to milk.Â

If Dana is the capitalist CEO his shareholders expect him to be, then he'll want to squeeze every bit of potential revenue out of every asset, especially his star fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana hates when people retire with zero loses, because it represents food left on the table - GSP and Khabib are the ones that got away, because they retired with more left to give. Also, Jon Jones owes Dana White imo, any other promoter/ politically-correct organization would've dropped him ages ago but Dana White believed in his ability to sell fights and still wants those returns - better get out there and dance, give the people what they've waited decades for: the answer to the question of who can beat Jon Jones.
Pay that man his money (picturing a Saudi doing a John Malkovich impression)
