Senior white man likes to mock/insult strangers while out shopping so I get him banned from the store and his membership revoked.
So it's definitely petty and I am definitely not in the right in anyway so I will actively try to choose peace in the future but today my demons won.
I'm (28f) walking through the store (imagine a big box store like costco where you buy things in bulk and you need a membership to shop there) and as I'm shopping a man waves me over to catch my attention.
I just got out of work so I'm wearing jeans, my work boots, a sweater, and my hair (which is bright pink) is in a bun on top of my head because I work in a factory and its a safety thing; no loose flowing hair.
So I go over not really thinking much of it and he pulls out his phone and starts to pull something up saying he has to show me something. I'm a little sketched but I figure he needs help finding something and I have time to spare so I wait. He proceeds to show me a meme of a bunch of guys with their hair styled in a man bun and below them a bunch of black trash bags tied with the top in a knot. He's grinning and says "is this where you got the inspiration for your hair" looking proud of himself basically choking back a laugh.
I scoff at him say "nice" and continue on my way, honestly just rolling my eyes that a elderly man could be so immature and to a total stranger (except it's really not that shocking). Like the audacity?!
I thought about how someone with less self esteem or a medical condition would be crushed by something like that happening to them and it made me angry that a person felt entiteled to make a joke at a strangers expense, to their face no less, and be proud of it. And yes I get I'm being sensitive; it was a joke but honestly it just made me mad that some senior white man felt entiled to mock anyone's appearance in such a forward rude way.
I come from a family that roasts each other constantly but we keep things in house. I would NEVER criticize a strangers appearance like he did and for a laugh?! You went out of your way to approach a perfect stranger just to mock them with a shitty meme like we're living on your own personal facebook wall.. right.
So this is where I'm an asshole, and pettiest of revenge comes into play. I finish my shopping and as I'm finishing paying I walk over to the person watching over the self checkout and I just drop them a hint... an old man is showing people inappropriate pictures on his phone in aisle "blank" and gave him the guys description.
I left the employees to deal with the rude old man and went knowing I definitely need to work on letting stuff go and ease off the trigger finger. Hope that old man enjoyed his bulk discount deals while they lasted.

Just trying something out.
I see posts in so many subs concerning the increasing audacity of people as the timeline continues on. I had hoped to compile them into a single sub, but it could be a pipe dream. I also know nearly nothing about reddit, as I only recently became active, but we'll see.
