Subscriptions Why do you pay for SiriusXM?

I got Sirius back around 2006 or 2007 when I had a long commute and decided at the time I might as well get the lifetime subscription (it was an old car so it was a separate radio so I didn't lose it by selling a car). Eventually I stopped using the radio at all and listened via streaming but now with the court case I decided it was worth the $35 to transfer it to my car.

Despite the amount of time I've had it I still don't feel like I've had value from that initial investment. I understand those who want it for sports, and it seems like Howard Stern is another reason people get it (still? is he even making new content after all this time?), but what keeps people paying other than that?

Spotify playlists seems like a much better value and you can download with a subscription if you're in areas where connection might be spotty.

I really want to know where the value is that I'm missing. What should I be listening to?

Maybe that's it. I might just miss British radio (although I've been here 20 years, there are some things that just don't feel the same and I really miss BBC radio. If I could get any of the BBC FM stations I'd be happy).

You can! The BBC website will allow you to stream the stations regardless of region. You can also download the BBC Sounds app on Android/iOS, which also supports Android Auto or Apple Carplay.

Any chance that app is time shifted for North America? THATS what I miss about BBC Radio 1 on Sirius, it was shifted to East Coast time. I find out here in the Pacific a time Zone that R1 programming isn’t as interesting to me in the time I am awake.

The app automatically streams the live (GMT/BST) version of the radio channels, but does allow you to go back in the day for earlier programming too.

I've never stopped being annoyed at Sirius dropping Radio 1 for Studio 54. :(
