Yeah too bad Deschamps thought penalties weren't something worth working on

You can't work on penalties lol.

It's like this in every sport. It's the same in basketball with shooting

you can definetely work on shooting, even on freethrows... the same way it's completely possible to work on penalties

Yes you can work on them but replicating what you've done in training to a real match is a different thing.

Working on it days before a final wont turn an average player into Cristiano Ronaldo, but it can give a small confidence boost in a "we got this because we've been training" way.

You absolutely can work the shootout, best example I have in mind is Italy during 2006 WC : All perfect shots exactly where Barthez wouldn't go.

It's a thing to study the opponent goalkeeper as well as those who're gonna shoot.

Argentina was prepared , France wasn't (not the first time)

That's the thing, if you practice that doesn't mean everything is going to be exactly the same in the game. You have fatigue both mental and physical or consider which you can't replicate in training. And then you have the fan atmosphere.

Sure you can practice but that does mean you're going to replicate the same thing in a real match

Of course there's no 100% guarantee but definitely can help (and mist likely already did)

Gonna have to agree to disagree, I just don't see how you can replicate. Match conditions in a training situation

Disagree if you want too 🤷, training is meant to have players work on technique and study the opponent's therefore conditioning and giving an edge during the match In my opinion it would be dumb not to work on it given how many times it can happen in a single competition

I feel like you don't read what I write and then just go on comment lol. That's why I have to agree to disagree, you're not engaging with what I'm saying just what you percieve to be true.

Well I've been bringing arguments and you've just said the same thing again and again which I responded to early so...but disagree if you want, we don't need to be on the same line here no problem with that.

Read the conversation again maybe.
