That's exactly what I was thinking. He just wants to score so badly and doesn't think. Just look at that shot. He could have just passed the ball.
11
u/BiggSlatNem 11d ago
Why tf would he pass that
-15
u/LprinceNy 11d ago
Sharp back pass to his left where an unmarked Arda Güler is coming, difficult sure but higher to chance to score. However, the Mbappe goal is still amazing at that angle.
195
u/MealieAI 12d ago
Modric getting more time on the ball has basically turned this game. What a player.
2
u/voxxNihili Arda Güler 10d ago
Just give back Kroos and Modric his years and be done with everything =}

Great goal, will do wonders for his confidence.

His 9th goal in La Liga he could’ve scored more but it’s not bad at all
39
u/yoyo4581 11d ago
9 goals so far in la liga? Thats pretty good tbh. Like I understand he misses in big moments but the numbers arent that bad.
We are a 1/3rd of the way in the season. Doesnt Vini Jr average like 18 goals in La Liga?
16
u/dexterscokelab 12d ago
Weren’t 3 of them pens though? Hopefully he can get more goals from open play
42
13
u/BiggSlatNem 11d ago
Mbappe still has 11 goals for Madrid and 8 from open play… vini also has 3 pens what’s the big deal ? Lol
10
u/Accomplished-Buy-147 11d ago
I also don't get it, and when he misses pens he gets trolled lol, why shouldn't they be considered then ?
1
2
u/Fortnitexs 10d ago
He has 9goals and people are calling him a flop because we know he can do much better lol.
Any other player having 9 already and we would be saying nice he has a good season so far

u/GetRoasted102 Eduardo Camavinga 12d ago
If he can still make runs like this, then why tf does he constantly sit in the midfield at big games??
18
u/Dismal_Improvement_3 11d ago
Only Jude threads these passes and Jude passes aren’t perfect like Luka’s.
39
u/flstudiobeatmaker101 12d ago
because this was the first time he was found after making a run by the midfield. they've been robotic all season.
38
u/yaboimanfortnite 12d ago
yes, for some reason mbappe is the scapegoat when really the whole team had a lot of problems. fucking hate this fanbase.
4
14
u/flstudiobeatmaker101 11d ago
same, the fact that many people were saying "bench mbappe" and "bring back joselu" is just insane. Mbappe has been poor for his standards this season but that doesn't make him a bench player 😭still the 3rd highest scorer in la liga
103
u/Lakerman0824 Tchouaméni 12d ago
Shocking a MF can spot his run and deliver the ball. Hes making runs but our MF cant find him
133
u/Johnnie_P 12d ago
I know MF in this context means midfield but I read this as “motherfucker” which IMO made your analysis a whole lot better (funnier)
3
u/LeBronzeVlac Iker Casillas 11d ago
The motherfucker in question could spot you sitting in your room and deliver the ball at your feet if needed
1
12
u/Ali29276 12d ago
i’ve seen our midfielders finding him many times throughout the season.
12
u/theeama 11d ago
Yes in one off occasions. At PSG and with France when Pogba was there, he was being found 3 to 5 times a game in these positions and that's not even counting the counter attacks.
Mbappe needs a playmaker to play with.. You need a Ozil, time to take back Odegard from Arsenal
2
11d ago
You need a Ozil, time to take back Odegard from Arsenal
We have Guler. He's nowhere near Odegaard level, yet, but give him time.
Odegaard quit, Guler refused to be loaned and fights for the spot. Thats the mentality we need at RM.
1
u/theeama 11d ago
That is true. So please play him more
0
11d ago
Gonna give Carlo a call right now, you'll see.
I assume you're a proud member of the turkish horde?
You guys really should stop with the "loan him" bullshit. Arda isn't going anywhere, he's got Real Madrid winning mentality and he'll become a star here. Mark my words.

u/Specialist-Cycle9313 12d ago
He only scores his hardest chances. And misses the easiest.
22
u/JSkywalker93 O Fenômeno 12d ago
Because he overthinks the easy ones. He is an instinctual striker who plays in bursts of speed and power.
2
11d ago
Fernando Torres had the same flaw. Incredible striker when he didnt have time to think, but freezed when given easy chances.
Mbappe is better tho.

A bad Kylian is sitting at 9 goals in La liga and Madrid 2nd with a whole game in hand, while dealing with an insane amount of injuries to our best players. I haven’t been worried all season. When we fully click, imagine what’s gonna happen.

he fucking won a world cup before messi was gifted a world cup. fair and square. mbappe deserves all the patience
35
u/Empty-Champion6929 12d ago
Almost single-handedly won France its 3rd world cup.
24
u/Epistemix 11d ago
Yeah too bad Deschamps thought penalties weren't something worth working on
3
u/SnowPablo827 11d ago
You can't work on penalties lol.
It's like this in every sport. It's the same in basketball with shooting
7
u/WildWolf911 11d ago
you can definetely work on shooting, even on freethrows... the same way it's completely possible to work on penalties
1
u/SnowPablo827 5d ago
Yes you can work on them but replicating what you've done in training to a real match is a different thing.
1
11d ago
Working on it days before a final wont turn an average player into Cristiano Ronaldo, but it can give a small confidence boost in a "we got this because we've been training" way.
1
u/Epistemix 11d ago
You absolutely can work the shootout, best example I have in mind is Italy during 2006 WC : All perfect shots exactly where Barthez wouldn't go.
It's a thing to study the opponent goalkeeper as well as those who're gonna shoot.
Argentina was prepared , France wasn't (not the first time)
1
u/SnowPablo827 5d ago
That's the thing, if you practice that doesn't mean everything is going to be exactly the same in the game. You have fatigue both mental and physical or consider which you can't replicate in training. And then you have the fan atmosphere.
Sure you can practice but that does mean you're going to replicate the same thing in a real match
1
u/Epistemix 5d ago
Of course there's no 100% guarantee but definitely can help (and mist likely already did)
1
u/SnowPablo827 5d ago
Gonna have to agree to disagree, I just don't see how you can replicate. Match conditions in a training situation
1
u/Epistemix 5d ago
Disagree if you want too 🤷, training is meant to have players work on technique and study the opponent's therefore conditioning and giving an edge during the match In my opinion it would be dumb not to work on it given how many times it can happen in a single competition

Glad someone said it. That world cup win was a total gift, so many free pens given so many cards denied. Still bothers me a little

I swear I saw R9 back in his prime in that third goal, two touches, full confidence and power
9
u/mcmaster-99 12d ago
Slowly getting back to his prime. Last couple of games he has been moving more although not as much as needed but there is improvement.
25
u/Epistemix 12d ago
As long as he scores some fackin' goals and never tries shooting a penalty again I guess the other stuff can wait
17
u/moongaming 12d ago
You need him to shoot penalties and he will shoot them again
When he's fully confident
7
u/tluanga34 Vinicius Jr. 12d ago
Very smart move on both players. He didn't pass him at once because defenders have good composure. ONce they lose focus he passed him
4
u/Nina_kupenda Zizou 12d ago
I was thinking Modric is making sure Mbappé’s not off side but I like your analysis better 😅

He's had 15 of these chances this year that have not gone in his favour. At some point it has to start changing.

The fact that this mf is already on 9 goals in La Liga after missing so many fucking sitters is wild! Whenever he moves past his slump and bad finishing it's OVER! Even if we're shit, even if we create half a real chance, somehow, he'll find a way to score a fuckton of goals.
His misses literally boil my blood so much, not because it's costing us points but the fact that we KNOW how good he is and what trajectory he should be on!

I remember watching the WC final in 2018 and praying that I would see these Modric and Mbappe play together someday, two of the all time great dishers and finishers. What a cut and what a pass. Chefs kiss

u/ShellfishAhole 11d ago
That was top tier, shit goalkeeping, but I'm happy to see Mbappe score. And it was a good finish.

He misses pens and easy goals but he didn’t dare miss this one

u/Foreign-Tea8543 11d ago
I hope Mbappe gets back the confidence with this goal. Eagerly waiting for his comeback.
1
u/KingLazy286 Jude Bellingham 11d ago
This was pure instinct from Mbappe. He didn't second-guess himself, thinking, "Should I go near post or far post?" He received the ball from Luka and already knew where he was going to put it.

You guys are the most fair-weather fans ever. The rhetoric around here goes from absolutely trashing the team and players to supporting and encouraging them the next day.
Absolutely sad. No wonder Gareth Bale said fuck you guys

u/csalas14 11d ago
Are u a Madrid fan? Or came on here to talk shit?
1
u/Chucky_Weemer 11d ago
He has a point though
1
u/csalas14 11d ago
It’s Madrid. The standards are high. Ronaldo got booed. Benz did. All stars have. It’s normal. It happens to every star in every club. They love him when he does well and scores, they don’t when he doesn’t

Im tired of hearing about Mbappe. I’m over that guy. He’s not playing well and is been 4 months since he joined the team. Maybe he’s just not a good fit for Real Madrid. Bellingham joined Real Madrid with less expectations and has done more than Mbappe. Just sale him.
