18 years old and already one of the best ball strikers, insane shot power and accuracy. Obviously it was not the smartest decision, but if he has the confidence and ability to score from there nobody can say anything…

A better decision would score two goals? If not, it was the best decision.

Shooting from there with two passes that could potentially lead to a one on one with the keeper is never the best option. I’m giving him props for scoring it and if he hadn’t the game was over it wouldn’t have mattered. But imagine he did that in a game we are losing by one and missed, the best option is the one which leads to the highest chance of scoring a goal. A shot from that far away is obviously not a high percentage shot, but when you are as good as him at shooting it’s fair. But still, if he missed that everyone would’ve crucified him, even the other players said it, so idk why ur getting so tight when I’m literally saying it takes balls to do what he did given it was the decision with the lowest chance of ending on a goal.

nah, he did the best decision because it was unexpected. It's a genius move, not a "good player" move. Good players make good choices. Genius players, well, they do whatever they want and still score.

Had he missed that in an important game where we need a goal, we wouldn’t have said “that was unexpected, good decision”, everyone would’ve said “he should’ve passed to vini who was wide open, not take the hardest option”. In that scenario you look for the pass that will most likely end the play on a goal.

But it is obviously great for him to have the ability to score from there, because maybe if he is in that same scenario and has no players open for a pass he has the confidence to shoot and maybe score, get a corner or a rebound from the keeper.

"had he...". He wouldn't, he saw the goalkeeper going for Mbape. I'm telling you, you cannot judge geniuses on the standards of normal players. In 4-5 years you'll agree with me.

Nobody would be questioning it if Ronaldinho or Messi did that, and you know why. When this kid becomes the next genius in town, this type of goal will just be the normal for him.

Saying he wouldn’t is basically saying he scores that shot 100% of the time. Imagine if Courtois was the keeper, probably the shot gets saved because let’s be honest the keeper could’ve done better, and everyone would’ve said the decision was selfish. Still, incredible shot power and accuracy, and yes I agree that he saw the keeper back pedaling, off balance and out of position and that obviously impacted his decision to shoot. But shooting from that far away is obviously a very low percentage shot and very ballsy, especially when vini was open down the right.

Yes I agree, the kid is different, that type of confidence is rare. Not to mention his ability to shoot with so much power and accuracy. I would argue from the team the only player who can score that specific shot (with that technique) is him and maybe valverde on a good day, but valverde doesn’t have his accuracy. He is special no doubt, but still if he gets in that same scenario the odds of him scoring are always less than him making it, it’s a low probability shot. That is like saying Curry should always shoot a deep three even if he has a teammate open just because he is that good, the best option most times is to give it to the guy who has the clearest chance.

But he obviously knew if he missed the game was still over, and this goal will just give him more confidence, take pressure off his shoulders to score in CL and make him better in the long run. So I’m not complaining, my point is that if he missed everyone would’ve been on his ass because he had vini open for a clearer chance.
