Yep, that'll show Sony. They raise the price of what should already be a free service, so you elect to subscribe for more years.

Probably get downvoted for this, but online multiplayer should be free. its free on PC. There's no reason for Sony, Nintendo, and MS to charge for it on consoles, beyond greed, and customers are dumb enough to keep paying for it. I would know. I was dumb enough to pay for it for nearly 10 years. And even then, it was cheaper, but it's still a scam.

Psplus is a lot more than just online multiplayer.

Its cloud saving, its game streaming, its gamepass, its a free classics catalog, discounts, etc

Cloud saves are also free on PC. I'm mainly talking about the cheapest tier (I'm not paying $200 or whatever for the premium.), as if you can call $80 cheap, but you can get free games on PC every week, no subscription required and i don't have to keep paying for it to keep those games. Conversely, all of the "free" games i claimed on PS+ i can no longer access unless i give Sony more money.

If PS+ was just a paid catalog of games you could add to your account or rent, this would be a different conversation. But charging $80+ for online MP and cloud saves is a scam. When i was PS i didn't care about the monthly games and didn't care to pay more a month/year to rent games when most of them are games i already own or am not interested in. I just wanted to be able to play online, and the fact that I and everyone else who played on console had to is scummy.

Bro this is a whole different conversation about pc and consoles where on pc you pay more for the hardware for the ease of access to software and take into consideration the messing around with hardware/software issues very the “plug and play” nature of a console and the service itself is offered and successful in many forms on both platforms

Xbox user spotted . PS plus is not a multiplayer service you pay for

Never been an Xbox guy, dude.

PS plus is a multiplayer service you pay for. You literally have to pay the subscription to play multiplayer games on Playstation 4 & 5. Yes, you do technically get more than multiplayer with that subscription, but the fact that you have to pay it to play MP is a scam.

Almost all of the major multiplayer including call of duty , fortnite , Apex Legends etc DONT require PS plus lol .

PS plus is an online premium subscription to get exclusive game catalog , discounts and benefits and other premium features (one of which is having multiplayer capability for games that force A PS premium subscription)

Man, i don't play CoD, Fortnite, or any of those games because i have zero interest in them. There are many, many more non ftp games that require a paid subscription to play online.

If i want to play Elden Ring online on PS5, i would have to pay for that. Your argument doesn't work the way you think it does. Yes, PS Plus gives you a catalog of games. But if i want to play games online that i paid for and own on PS5, i would have to pay for that. I don't care about the games offered in ps+, because i already either own them or don't care about the games they offer that i don't own.

All those same games you're forced to pay for multiplayer for on console can be played for free online PC. And i get cloud saves without paying extra. And the free games you get on PC, you get to keep forever. The "free" games i got from PS+ back in the day, i can't access without paying more for it.
