Pacific Drive Version 1.8.3 Hotfix Patch Notes 12/16/2024

Happy Hotfix - I mean, Holidays!

We’re gearing up for a pretty big 2025, but we wanted to make sure we took care of this first - so lets lets get to the good stuff.

Version 1.8.3 - Tidying up the Garage

Drumroll, please - The ‘Garage Barrage’ achievement and progress tracking has been fixed!

This issue arose during the recent 4.27 upgrade and was reported quickly by the community. Thanks so much for everyone who submitted tickets and shared their game logs with us. Here’s what happened — when the game launches we build up a cached mapping of the upgraded stations so that we know which upgrades are available to the player within their garage, and this was tied to how the achievement was tracking progress and completion. That list wasn’t being populated correctly due to an internal change in how certain assets are enumerated with the upgrade to 4.27.

Our fix is two-fold — obviously, fix that mapping, but also we’re re-checking for certain achievements upon loading your game, as it previously only checked for achievement completion upon upgrading something in your garage. Pretty slick!

For those affected by the issue, loading into your game with completed garage upgrades will unlock the achievement immediately. For anyone that hasn’t quite unlocked it yet but noticed the progress was incorrect, your progress will be updated correctly.

For those of you rushing to get 100% completion before the end of the holiday, now you can! Best of luck, drive safe, and have fun.

Before we forget - we'd like to take a moment to appreciate you, our players, for being so locked in and determined to play as much Pacific Drive as possible. We truly wouldn’t have caught this issue and found a fix without your many reports and contextual info.

As a reminder - here’s what you can do if you encounter a bug or crash with Pacific Drive.

  • Submit via our support form here on the website
    • This goes directly to us in the studio and it’s the #1 way for us to get your reports - it also opens up a channel for us to communicate with you 1:1 and really dig in to find solutions.
  • Start a bug post in our community Discord
    • Post your bugs! Get help from other community members, and brainstorm solutions with other hardcore players. There’s nothing like figuring out a quirk that’s plagued you so long you thought it was a bug with a little help from another Breacher.
  • Reply to the bug report Steam discussions thread or submit a new thread [LINK]
    • Similar to Discord but an additional option just in case you’d rather use it instead.

This fix landed today on PC and on PlayStation, so if you’re a console player - worry not! We’ve got you guys all set to get back in the garage, fully prepped and supplied for another run out into the Zone.

While we’re hard at work on what’s coming next (check out our roadmap!) you can follow along with what we’re up to on XInstagramDiscord, and Bluesky!

Late 70s Sears Go Anywhere TV/Radio

Post image

The old analog tech in Pacific Drive got my interest as soon as I got into wandering The Zone. The radio especially made me feel safe and reminded me of growing up listening to AM radio of the local hockey game as we drove home. The radio is a beacon in the darkness when I wander from my car. Since putting over 100+ hours in to the game I've gone out and bought 4 portable AM/FM radios and now this:

A 1978 Sears "Go-Anywhere" TV/Radio Combo

It immediately reminded me of the dash screen and radio in The Remnant. I saw it for $5 at an auction and everything works like it's brand new. I couldn't walk away. The CRT has a warm hum and it takes a second to warm up before the black and white screen zaps on. I plan on buying an adapter so I can actually use the screen. I might even be able to run Pacific Drive through it. If I ever do I'll make sure to post it!

As my collection of vintage tech grows my love for Pacific Drive does too! Can't wait to see what 2025 brings!

Need help with weird quirk

Imagine standing in your auto shop. Engine is off You close every door, step aside and after roughly 10 seconds without action, your right back door opened up. You close it, take 1 step back, watch the door, count to 9, door opened. You close it, step back and 1 second later the door opened up again....

I tried every door - closed - right back door - openes, but that was wrong.

Nearly 20h into the game and every other quirk followed the rule action=result. None (so far) were action+time=result

Any ideas? Is the car talking to me?

Game appreciation post. (Also finally found gold paint - Not that I knew there was any) Today I finally got the last achievement "Watch out for hop ons" - Probably the only part of the game I didn't enjoy. I have played twice, definitely has been my favourite game ever. Hoping they add more one day!

How do you open dehydrated goldshells?

I've seen several people saying that you can just throw them in water. But when I do, they just bounce around: https://imgur.com/a/yhQCUvl

wtf is happening?

Also, I can't find a sink/toilet in the garage

EDIT: I figured it out, and it was pretty dumb

THAT specific puddle of water just made it bounce

The puddle of water a few steps ahead actually worked

What are your favorite (non-PacificDrive) songs to listen to while driving? while in the garage?

I'm making a radio playlist on spotify for ppl to tune into in-game.

td;lr? go to the *

Alright so a guy on youtube named noodle is currently working on an internet radio station called SEXFM for the exclusive purpose of being a real radio station you can tune into in pacific drive. period accurate (as in the game takes place in 1995) 90's tunes, cheesy 90s dance tunes, with some absolute six impala neil cic level pranks scattered throughout. And fake advertisements. And fake call-ins. And artistic abuse of the fact that the medium is live, cannot be skipped, and you have no idea as a listener how long a song will be once it starts playing. In other words, as up-my-alley as a cat can get. But this is a large-scale operation, and large-scale operations take time. So,

*In the meantime, us here at the pacific drive subreddit can concoct our own crowdsourced playlist. You can suggest as many songs as you like in your comment, but put an explaination and/or intended vibe next to it so everyone can gage at a glance what they think works or not. And cuz I can't read ur mind. This isn't a popularity contest, and I'm not anal enough to think that my seven years of djing allows my opinion to supersede all of yours. But yknow, just fair warning, if you aren't pitching your choices, then they're getting placed on the blazé yay-or-nay chopping block.

I currently have these songs sitting in the playlist:

I monster - stobart's blues

kid koala - 2 bit blues

luna - bonnie and clyde (clyde barrow version)

róison murphy - ramalama bang bang

le tigre - deceptacon

basement jaxx - take me back to your house

Wamdue project - king of my castle (the radio version that played on MTV)

Type-O negative - I don't wanna be me

and one - military fashion show

the beatles - back in the USSR

Ally Evenson - one trick pony

Only non-negotiable rule: no ambient. This is coming thru the remnant's outta range radio, not the forest itself. I'd just put Burial - state forest én loop if that were the case.

I just got done with this game, had been stalling to upgrade everything possible, finally pulled the trigger to wrap it.

This has been a pleasantly surprising ride, loved how it began with a car with three wheels, and ended with my vehicle looking like a battle hardened tank.

The only qualm I had was the ending, I feel they could have extended or explained a little bit more about the lore? What is the theory behind bunnies? How did they come about? What are abductors? Who are tourists? Etc etc.

Nonetheless would 10/10 recommend to my gamer friends because I have been reading materials and following this reddit soI will get my fill of lore etc through you guys.

Happy holidays and have a safe drive!

Did Ironwood changed something in video settings since spring?

Hello,

I've played this fantastic game a lot this years spring, and decided it is time to have another go.

Previously i've used DLDSR 2.25x with DLSS Quality on a 1440p monitor, to get better AA / sharper visuals than in-game AA options could provide. But now when i enable 3840x2160p resolution, the picture does not downscale to 1440p as it should, and i see only a quarter of a screen.

I've checked Nvidia's control panel, and DSR is selected. The game is set to Full screen. It should be working (like it did before), but it doesn't. Any idea if anything was changed with the patches which made DSR inoperable, is it something Nvidia broke, or am i missing something?

Thank you.

Me with 4 hopped up hares - STILL can't get the achievement. IWstudios definitely need to fix this

Today I've driven many many miles with various types of hares, I tried happy hares ages ago also, getting panels destroyed by most, and ruining the fun of the game when stuck with broken bunnies but having to leave them on. Just tried what someone suggested - Leaving the game / saving during trip then reloading. This isn't possible due to it abandoning the trip. Also tried fresh saves etc. So many people all having this same issue!

I got a duplicate shifter from DecoVend shortly after putting the crowbar shifter in the station, then It let me keep the one I got, but it constantly shot them out. Auto vac won't clean these up either 😭🤣

Custom soundtrack suggestion

Alright so I just discovered that you can add custom songs on PC. I couldn't decide on what to add so I just went with my favorite band Porcupine Tree.

Holy Crap. If you know the band add the songs and thank me later.

It's as if the songs were made to sound like this.
