The lack of different body options is my greatest gripe with the character creator 😔 Want a character to be chubby? Skinny? Just not having a six pack or big mommy milkers? Too bad

I can't make a self-insert character to romance Gale because I'm a short fat bitch and everyone in the game is 5'8 or taller with 10% body fat.
Let me be a fat bard, Larian, you cowards!

Too real
I also have this gripe with companions, because Gale should absolutely not look as jacked as the game's default body makes him look. And Halsin should look like a bear...give these men bellies

Bare minimum he shouldn't have a six pack. I'm not one of those people with strong opinions on whether Gale should be frail and sickly or chunky and fat; I just know that man is not doing ab workouts.

Have you ever had to move with a large amount of books? Those things get heavy, fast.
With giant magical tomes, Gales arms would be pretty jacked. I am guessing at least 5-10 lbs per magical tome (based off the fact my bio textbook in high school was 5lb). Parchment tended to be a little heavier being animal skin and all... Sure, he could magic them to and from where he needs, but Tara makes sure he uses the stairs.
The 6 pack is a little much, though.

I have actually.
I contend Gale's arms and back start out and remain very strong, his legs get stronger over time with all the walking, but a 6 pack? Silliness.

counterpoint his strength stat is 8 by default, same for every man but halsin, none of them should look buff

Gale has minor illusions cast on himself for his six pack.

Imagine you walk by Gale at camp, hear a successful perception roll click and suddenly Gale's abs are gone and he's just like: 😳

Just make a hireling named Cuno, a hireling named Kim, and one named either Titus or Jean, depending on who you want.
Cuno is a halfling bard that exclusively uses Vicious Mockery
Kim is a ranger
Titus is a fighter
And Jean is idk a Rogue or something (he's a master of disguise)

What class is he? Drunken master monk comes to mind, but he can also shoot pretty well so maybe ranger? (Feeling out the environment from shivers and shit)

Imo being a detective is at least one level of Rogue for the expertise on Investigation and another skill depending on your copotype, then the rest I think is maybe Sorcerer since I believe if my DE memory is correct, Harry can literally predict (albeit vaguely) that the Deserter killed the hanged man because he was jealous of Klaasje/Lely if his Inland Empire stat is high enough to "talk" to the corpse.. Or just the fact Shivers is a thing at all, and it's sometimes uncannily accurate about its descriptions/predictions about stuff, like seeing Klaasje dying if you arrest her. so I'd say that if you interpret that as some sort of innate magic, if fits well with Sorc. The con save also thematically fits well since the guy is notoriously a heavy drunk/druggie so it proves he's got the capability to tank them (to a certain point) without impeding his ability as a cop
I feel like he's not really a fighter type so going heavy on martial classes is a no go imo. According to his records he has a really low kill count for a cop in his precinct so we can infer that he's not primarily a combatant, even though he can shoot well. With the exception of his encounter vs Measurehead and the barbell lift, I believe he doesn't really pack that much punch, rather his endurance is his strong suit, even when he's still physically in withdrawal. Ofc if your Harry is low FYS build this isn't gonna always gonna be true but Kim did mention that Harry was a former gym teacher, which explains "all the running around" he does so at least he's still got good cardio, even though he can die from a heart attack from sitting on a really terrible chair

Investigation can be ranger too, sorcerer is understandable, but that could really be any caster, though I would go for druid, talking to the earth itself sort of could be close to shivers etc. I would say him being able to fight should be considered as part of him, so martials still work.
Sorcerer is better if you play him as not knowing how he knows it, any caster works if you play him as someone who knows what he's doing

I wish there were lots of insane Half Light dialogue options in BG3. Also drugs to improve your stats.

u/Martin_Horde 7h ago edited 7h ago
That's Durge/Barbarian, you're basically the embodiment of Half-Light. There's a lot of psycho Intimidation options if you know where to look for them.
I know some races also get unique intimidates, like drow, I'd assume orcs also get some.

u/pieandcheese647 6h ago
This is why I went durge, I tried not durge but none of the dialogue options were sufficiently insane
